In this retreat, you will spend your nights at Poundon House. The Queen Anne style country house is stunning and spacious. The house is set within six acres of landscaped gardens on the edge of the Oxfordshire-Buckinghamshire border. Poundon House offers a luxury escape in the peace and tranquility of the countryside. The venue will make you feel immediately at home and you can settle down in front of a roaring open fire, take a long bath in one of the unique bathrooms, or go for a quiet walk in the apple orchard. For over a century, Poundon has been the perfect place to escape from the bustle of city life. The luxurious rooms are spacious, light, and offer an extremely comfortable heaven to relax and rest in. The fireside sofas are deep and comfy with views of an expanse of nature and space.
On this retreat, you will enjoy daily meditation, yoga classes, and workshops. The arrival time on Friday is from 15:00 onwards. The first yoga session will be at 17:00 which will then followed by a delicious dinner. There will be two yoga classes on Saturday and Sunday. Mornings on both days will begin with meditation and pranayama, followed by a flowing Hatha class. The second class of the day will be a shorter more restorative and slower paced yoga class.
Each day after the morning yoga and a healthy breakfast, there will be opportunities to walk, have a massage, or relax in one of the comfy lounges by a roaring fire or take a long bath. This weekend retreat will finish on Sunday after lunch at 13:00.
%This holiday is open to all levels of ability and the groups are often a broad mix from beginners to yoga teachers. Everyone is welcomed and the teacher is experienced in offering something for everyone with more challenging practices for experienced yogis and guidance for those who are newer to the practice. If you have the chance though, it is always a good idea to try a yoga class or two before you come.
Jaya started practicing yoga in 1995 and has explored many styles since. She completed an intensive nine-month teacher training in Byron Bay in 2003 and taught at Brahmani Yoga (former Purple Valley) in India until 2008. Jaya teaches a dynamic flow style that combines the integrity, precision, and alignment of Iyengar with the movement and breath awareness of Vinyasa. Jaya's techniques tend to suit students of varying abilities, as they can be both calming and challenging. Most importantly, Jaya creates a safe and nurturing environment that encourages self-discovery and non-competitiveness.
This retreat will take place in the Poundon House, located in Poundon, England. The venue is set within six acres of landscaped gardens on the edge of the Oxfordshire-Buckinghamshire border. The retreat place is also within an easy reach of London, Oxford, Milton Keynes, Birmingham, the Cotswolds, and Bristol with fantastic transport links to all of these places.
Throughout this retreat, you will be served with delicious organic foods. All of the meals are vegetarian which will delight and nourish your body and soul.
