Accommodation will be in The Shala Bali. The Shala Bali is a beautiful-purpose built yoga center in a quiet village area of Ubud. The yoga pavilion is open on three sides with roll-down blinds for optimum air flow, with a polished timber floor. The view from the yoga pavilion offers a feast of lush, tropical gardens, coconut palms, and rice paddy fields.
Onsite twin-share rooms in architecturally designed villa guest rooms at The Shala Bali are provided for the yoga retreat participants. The stylishly furnished rooms, with their own bathrooms, have a view of either rice paddy fields or the 20-meter infinity line swimming pool.
This retreat allows you to relax, rejuvenate, and have the luxury of having time for a daily deepening of one's yoga practice under the expert guidance of the senior, highly experienced, principal yoga teacher, Louisa Sear. You will also have time for enjoying the delights of Bali, while also practicing yoga, meditation, and pranayama.
This holiday retreats are suitable for yoga practitioners of all levels. They are designed to deepen your yoga practice under the guidance of Yoga Arts’ senior teachers in some of the world’s most beautiful locations.
The program includes the daily practice of asana in Vinyasa style, pranayama, and silent meditation. You will also discuss yoga philosophy and be introduced to Ayurveda. Learn how to breathe correctly with pranayama and experience the therapeutic effect of these breathing techniques handed down by yoga masters to reach a place of stillness and calm.
The style of yoga taught in this program is Vinyasa yoga with emphasis on alignment-focused asanas and the flow of breath while transitioning from pose to pose.
The morning Vinyasa yoga practice is more dynamic to start the day. The afternoon classes are designed to be more alignment focused and restorative, allowing the time to go deeper into specific areas of the body, finishing with relaxation and pranayama in preparation for winding down for the evening, guaranteeing a restful night's sleep.
Louisa has dedicated her life to the practice and teaching of yoga. She is passionate in the inquiry to find ones true nature and freedom. In her teaching, Louisa encourages the understanding and acceptance of life, finding the teacher within and acknowledging the God in all. Louisa has had a committed yoga Sadhana practice for 35 years. She teaches the principles of Tantric Advaita philosophy and specializes in self-inquiry, therapeutic yoga, Ayurveda lifestyle, mindful Vinyasa asana, pranayama, and meditation.
This retreat will be held in The Shala Bali, in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. Ubud is a hub for culture, arts, and wellness. It has the widest range of body treatments and diversity of food, including vegetarian, vegan, and raw food options. It is the perfect place to explore healing modalities and the essence of Balinese culture.
The Shala Bali in Ubud has the perfect peaceful surroundings to allow you to go deeply inside and focus solely on their yoga study and practice. Ubud offers many excellent cafes and restaurants as well as money changing facilities, ATMs, and inexpensive massage and beauty treatments.
Not far away, you will find the famous Ubud markets where you can bargain for the best price. Within walking distance, you will find shops, museums, temples, and vibrant cultural performances.
You will be provided daily nutritious vegetarian breakfast. The Shala Bali and Darshana Retreat complex have two amazing onsite vegetarian cafes to purchase lunch and dinner from.
Mumbai Station is an Ayurvedically inspired Indian vegetarian cafe serving the best masala dosas in Ubud, as well as a variety of homemade chutneys and other Indian delicacies.
Meals in the Shala Bali cafe are Balinese and internationally inspired and cater for special dietary needs including gluten-free and sugar-free options.
You may visit the nearby famous Monkey Forest, which has a temple in the midst of a jungle filled with swinging and mischievousness monkeys. Another must-visit place is the Ubud markets, in the center of town, which is a colorful experience loaded with typical Balinese craft stalls, silver, silks, sarongs, jewelry, clothes, local produce, and an assortment of artifacts and treasures.
This retreat includes two Ayurvedic treatments. You can choose from Abyanga massage, Shirodhara, or Indian head massage. Darshana Veda Spa is right next door to The Shala Bali and forms part of The Shala Bali complex. Here you will be able to book in for an array of Ayurvedic and traditional spa treatments to further relax and rejuvenate during your time off from the retreat schedule.
Please book your flight to arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). Transfer from the airport is included. Yoga Arts will pick you up from the airport.
