Throughout the retreat, you will have the opportunities to serve the local community in meaningful ways. You will foster the qualities of compassion and selflessness deep within and take the yoga practice truly off-the-mat. Evening practices of Yin, Restorative, Kirtan and / or meditation will allow your time for absorption and reflection promoting a restful night’s sleep to wake up and emerge anew.
At the center, you will have the opportunity to commune directly with the mountains as well as the local curanderos and pacos (healers) who will engage with you in ritual and ceremony.
Amanda Harding is the owner of Prema Yoga Brooklyn where she teaches weekly Vinyasa flow classes as well as private / corporate clients across NYC and Los Angeles through her company, Karuna NYC. Heavily influenced by Tibetan Buddhist philosophy as well as the Bhakti yoga tradition, Amanda teaches an Ashtanga-influenced vigorous yet mindful and creative class incorporating the fluidity of dance and music / chanting with a heavy emphasis on alignment, breath, patience and fun.
Pursuing her love of dance, Bobbie moved from her native Toronto to NY in 2005. Though the equation of dance to yoga teacher is a common one, it was an illness that turned her into the power of a daily, dedicated practice. Her vinyasa classes are creative, challenging and fun. Her yin / stretch / restorative classes are an invitation to pause, yield to the sense of support, turn inward and take the practice to a quiet, nourishing place, away from the external stress our busy lives.
During this retreat, you will practice yoga in True Nature Education's Peruvian center in Cusco Region, Peru. You will also be traveling in areas above 7,000-foot altitude with your group.
The retreat center where you will be practicing yoga is nestled in an oasis of native plants and fruit trees, nourished by a magnificent waterfall in the Sacred Valley of Peru. The lovely spot is in the Andes Mountains and home of the twelve mountains known as Apus which means “luminous beings”.
During this yoga retreat, you will be served 3 whole food meals each day. You will enjoy delicious meals with locally-grown and lovingly-prepared ingredients. True Nature Education's centers do accommodate most special dietary restrictions like allergies, vegan and non-gluten diets. They serve wholesome, fresh, organic meals that are simple and delicious when possible.

If you are concerned, you can bring some alternative snacks to supplement your meals. True Nature Education recommends bringing some special snacks with you if you would like to, but this is not necessary.
The meals are abundant and True Nature Education is confident that you will be well-fed. If you have extreme allergies or strict dietary needs, you may want to bring some supplemental foods so you do not have to worry if you will have what you need. Each of True Nature Education's centers serves organic fruits and vegetables when possible. Most meals have a protein source (eggs, beans, cheese, nuts etc.).
If you are on a high protein diet please let True Nature Education know in advance so they can have something for you. It may be a good idea to bring a protein bar for each day of your retreat. Some centers do offer meat options (some are included in basic tuition and others there is an additional fee).
