Sthidhi has also arranged for one night's camping after a seven-hour hike and for the provision of good quality tents and sleeping bags on the fifth day.

You will cycle up and down the mountains of Munnar from day one, rise early each day for morning training, be it a run, martial arts or a dynamic yoga practice, and trek the mighty Western Ghats. You are guaranteed to return home with skills you never knew you had.

Sthidhi has found some of the very best Kalari practitioners in South India. You will see them perform and they will give you a taster session in this ancient Indian martial art, which is believed to have been the precursor to Kung Fu. So, the preliminary sessions in traditional Chinese Shaolin Kung Fu and Tai Chi will get you prepared.

Every activity in life is a teacher of some sort. By incorporating diverse tasks and exercises, the intention is to provide a practical learning experience that unlocks new levels of concentration, emotional input, physical energy, and will. The activities and yoga sessions are all designed to allow you some quality rest, good sleep, and time to yourself as well.

The sessions provide a range of yoga styles and a variety of exercise techniques to allow guests an experience that encompasses not only what yoga has to offer, but what other physical endeavors can offer you as well.

As anatomy experts, Sthidhi always keeps in mind variations and adaptations to suit your body type. All in all, you will enjoy a rejuvenating and inspiring week of nourishing activities in stunning Kerela scenery. You will swim in the waterfall nearby the resort, weather permitting. You will camp in the mountains after a day’s trekking, with all equipment provided. You will relax with diverse and transformational daily yoga sessions, plus a variety of other ancient mind and body techniques.

Daily schedule

On the first day, you will arrive in Cochin and be transferred to the hotel. There will be morning and evening yoga sessions and orientation.

You will start the second day with a morning yoga class, then travel to Munnar where you will be dropped off in town to cycle 20 kilometers back to the hotel. Light training and live music will finish up this day.

On the third day, you will enjoy a morning meditation session, a Kung Fu training, 20 kilometers cycling to town, an Ayurvedic massage, and watching a Kalari show.

The fourth day will start with a morning yoga class. On this day, you will explore the cardamon and coffee estate. There will be a Kung Fu training in the evening.

Start the fifth day with a gentle yoga and meditation session, followed by a 12-kilometer hike with camping and fire.

On the sixth day, there will be a morning yoga class and an uphill hike, followed by returning to the exquisite hotel.

The seventh day will include Tai Chi and meditation session, running, and Kalari training with the pros. The day will finish with yoga class and time to reflect.

On the last day, after a morning yoga session, you will be transferred to the airport.

Visit Kalari pit to watch a martial arts performance by the masters on day three. On the fourth day, you will explore the cardamon and coffee estate. The next day is dedicated to hiking and camping overnight. There will be a Kalari training by the masters on day six.

  • Sara Newman

    Sara draws on her experience of working as a personal trainer at one of the most highly reputed personal training studios in London, which has equipped her with a sound knowledge of anatomy, as well as an understanding of post injury rehabilitation. Her education in yoga started as a child attending regular yoga and meditation sessions. She continued to deepen her yogic studies at Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram in Kerala and then at the Anand Prakash Ashram in Rishikesh. Prior to this, she has been training in Kung Fu and Tai Chi for over 15 years.

  • Akhil Gopi

    Akhil has developed a deep training in Hatha yoga through his extended contact with the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram in Kerala and has since completed numerous other intensive yoga training through his role as chief yoga instructor and studio director with Zorba, a leading yoga studio in India. Akhil's immersion in Vedic teachings, silent meditation, and his own personal spiritual experiences, have brought him profound abilities to guide students. Akhil also enjoys Tai Chi and martial arts, which all contributes to his restorative, yet energising style of teaching.

Munnar is surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations. Established in the late 19th century, it is known for being the habitat for the endangered mountain goat Nilgiri tahr and is home to the Lakkam Waterfalls, hiking trails, and the 2,695 meter-tall Anamudi Peak.

Sthidhi provides healthy vegetarian food. Their variety of incredible recipes is nutritious, delicious, and simple to make at home on your return. The hoteliers and resort owners have all kindly agreed to prepare their food, just the way Sthidhi like it.

But to make sure it is perfect, they will be snooping around the kitchen and sometimes cook the food themselves. Feel free to ask for the recipe. Special dietary requirements are also provided for.
