The retreat offers single, two-bed, three-bed, and four-bed rooms, all simple, bright, and comfortable, with wash basin and several shared bathrooms.

In the same building, the lovely spacious yoga room, including yoga mats, meditation cushions, chairs, and blankets is exclusively available for your use throughout the retreat (daytime). You may use the room in your free time if you wish to, for warming up ahead of class or for silent alone time.

You will also have access to a very cozy library for quiet leisure time, as well as outdoor recreation areas like the roof covered terrace with chairs and a few benches in nature.

Programme

The new day begins in silence, with a guided meditation focused on the day’s theme. You will explore themes like stability, focus, and courage to be vulnerable and go deep; playfulness and the free expression of life; pure experience, joy, and expansion. Breathing and visualization exercises may be part of the meditation.

After meditation, let the nourishing vegetarian breakfast buffet energize you for the day ahead!

Weather permitting, you will enjoy an easy guided nature walk with a focus on mindfulness and direct experience, joy, and absorption. Alternatively, you may explore these themes in the comfort of the light-flooded yoga room.

Wake up to your power with an invigorating yoga session! Find your focus, balance your mind, strengthen your nervous system, and uncover your own inner stability, equipoise, and grace.

After yoga, a wholesome lunch buffet is served. Rewind and enjoy your free time to explore the beautiful area, read, meditate, or rest.

The late afternoon offers a restorative yoga session to integrate the day’s learning deep into your body. Relax, rejuvenate, and let go.

Dinner is again served as a delicious vegetarian buffet. There will be space to relish in each other’s presence and in the insights and breakthroughs of the day, before you move into evening silence.

Wind down with a deep return to your being through deep relaxation, with yoga Nidra, deep energy work, and meditation. As your tissue is allowed to relax fully, your sensitivity heightens, and you begin to develop a gentle awareness of subtle energy flows. This attentive awareness will bring deep restoration to your being as well as new depth to your practice.

This is a program aimed to deep renewal. You commit to co-create a space filled with awareness, compassion, and focused intention, where all of who you are is welcome. This safe retreat space supports profound insight, deepened experience, as well as deep-seated habits or blockages to finally move out of your being.

Allow yourself to immerse into heartfelt re-connection, an expanded sense of experience and embodied wisdom. Satya Mountain Yoga hope that you may return to your everyday life with this expanded awareness, integrating the insights and tools you discovered for yourself into everyday life and in your continued awakening journey.

Typical daily schedule

Please plan to arrive between 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday. Check-in is at 4 p.m. and the first session starts at 5 p.m.; a restorative yoga session followed by a welcome supper and the first gentle evening meditation to wind down and release. The retreat finishes on Sunday after lunch, so you can plan your home journey from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Prerequisites

This retreat is suitable if you have some previous experience of yoga. An ability to take certain asanas is not a prerequisite - rather (and as originally intended), allow yoga to help you explore deeper levels of your being alongside the physical.

Excursions

Awaken all your senses with mindfulness practice on and near the flower meadow just above the retreat. Easy nature immersion exercises will reconnect you with your body, your inner presence, and with nature.

Depending on weather and group preferences, there may be a mindful forest hill hike (two hours) inviting an element of challenge, new panoramas over Allgäu and giving the body a revitalizing work-out. (Bring steady shoes for hiking!)

The retreat resort is carefully chosen to support your inner experience. Peacefully tucked away on a hillside above Immenstadt, it offers views to southern Allgäu, Grünten, and the main chain of the Alps. The house is surrounded by forest and, as summer awakens, wildflower meadows with great botanical diversity, where nature mindfulness practice will be a part of the program. Having nature at the doorstep will certainly inspire you to reconnect with the Earth and help ground your practice.

Please note that Riederalp lies within the Nagelfluhkette Nature Reserve. From Immenstadt, an easy 30-minute hike is required (a common hike from the train station will be arranged). This means that although Immenstadt is a popular hiking and outdoor destination and very easy to reach in summer, once we arrive at the retreat resort we will be alone with nature.

Repas

Nourishing your body with wholesome food is an important element to support healing and transformation - while delicious taste is equally important to feel nourished within your inner experience!

The vegetarian (main dish largely vegan) food is prepared with love and intention by the retreat staff, using local, seasonal, and organic ingredients where possible. If you have special dietary requirements, please reach out to Satya Mountain Yoga before the retreat.

All meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, are served as a buffet to help you tailor the food to your preferences. It is also possible to save a meal (or part of it) for later, if you, for whatever reason (i.e. yoga sessions) cannot eat at the scheduled time.

Tea, coffee, and fruit is always available for you. Please note that bringing any food or drink (except water) to the bedrooms, the yoga room, or the library is prohibited. Use the common rooms or sit outside to enjoy your snacks or drink.

Activités et lieux à visiter

There are several options for hiking directly from the house (please ask for route descriptions on-site), from short 30-minute walks to half day tours like Mittagberg or Grosser Alpsee by Immenstadt. With enough time, you can walk around the lake or take a dip in Kl. Alpsee nearby.

Mittagberg is part of the Nagelfluhkette, where you can hike along a long, scenic ridge over many summits. It's possible to start from Hochgratbahn lift station, above Oberstaufen, and follow the ridge north-east. The hike offers beautiful panoramas over Bregenzer Wald, exciting Via Ferratas as well as botanical diversity.

There are many other outdoor possibilities in the region. Allgäu is well known for its picturesque valley and mountain hiking. Reach out if you have specific questions for planning.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Munich Airport (MUC). Munich is two hours away from the location. Alternatively, you can also book your flight to arrive at Memmingen Airport (FMM), which is 45 minutes away from the location. Transfers from and to these airports are not included in the price. Please contact Satya Mountaing Yoga if you need help planning your trip.

Arrival by train

The location is easily reached with train to Immenstadt (Bahnhof), see Deutsche Bahn. If coming with a car, please park at Immenstadt Langzeitparkplatz P2 (well signposted throughout Immenstadt).

Arrival by taxi

Please note that, since Riederalp lies within a nature reserve, an easy 30-minute hike is required to reach the retreat center. A common hike will be arranged. You may alternatively take a taxi from Immenstadt for around 10 EUR one way.
