You will spend your relaxing nights at the Sannyasa Wellness Retreat Centre. The retreat center is a chic and modern villa with a sun terrace, garden, and an outdoor swimming pool. There is a range of accommodation to suit the clients. All of the bedrooms are double and have their own toilet and shower room. They are all air-conditioned and also have fans available for guests who do not prefer air conditioners.
The private bedrooms are on a generous surface area with tall French windows and balconies. Some are fitted with queen-sized solid oaks beds and others with twin beds. There is also a large family room which can accommodate up to four adults. Fresh towels and linen are provided and the rooms are all fully maintained and serviced by the local staffs which fluent in English, French, and Hindi.
The facilities also consist of a large open planned kitchen, dining room, lounge, sun terrace, and an outdoor swimming pool. The kitchen is fitted with gas hob, oven, kettle, toaster, microwave, double door fridge, and freezer and washing machine. Wi-Fi is available throughout the whole villa.
This room is only for girls and can accommodate four people at a time. It has own bathroom, toilet, and private balcony with access to open planned kitchen, dining room, lounge, sun terrace, and swimming pool. Wi-Fi is also available throughout all premises.

Wake up to the sound of local fauna and start the day with a pranayama class in the fresh morning air on the sandy beach of Trou-Aux-Biches. Then, you will have a delicious, and nutritious breakfast with plenty of time before starting a slow-paced Hatha flow aimed at loosening and relaxing the body and mind.
Enjoy a massage of your choice for the rest of the day or take a swim in the lagoon, surfing, diving in the big blue, cycling, or walking around to explore other neighboring beaches or simply enjoying the swimming pool and sun terrace of the center. The day ends with a meditation class and in the evening, you will have dinner and can sometimes gather together for a quick after-meal walk on the local beach. There will also be a farewell dinner in the center on the last day of activities.
Karma, Mantra, and Bhakti yoga are optional in the yoga retreats. The Karma yoga is great fun. You will look at ways you can help the society and the needy but also the much deeper principles in how you perform these selfless activities. This is the essence of the Karma yoga.
Mantra is more an internal form of yoga, very much close to meditation and Bhakti yoga. At Sannyasa Wellness, you will look at these disciplines based on the science of the Kundalini energy, the chakras, and nadis.
During the retreat, you will experience two island tours to visit all the famous landmarks of Mauritius. Some of these places are quite unique in the world like Chamarel, the seven colored earth - a volcanic phenomenon producing seven different shades of earth, Le Morne Brabant - an undersea waterfall, another spectacular volcanic phenomena of Mauritius, the Grand Bassin sacred lake of God Shiva with a 108 foot statue of God Shiva and the 108 Shivlings temple.
You will also visit Black River Gorges National Park, Alexander Falls, Trou Aux Cerfs volcano, Pamplemousses botanical garden - ranked in the top ten gardens in the world - Ile aux Cerfs, and the ocean route visiting different beaches around the island.
The island tour one leaves the retreat at 8:30 a.m. with first stop at Trou Aux Cerfs volcano, then Mare Aux Vacoas lake, Grand Bassin sacred lake, Alexander Falls, Black River Gorges, Chamarel Falls, Chamarel Seven Colored Earth, Le Morne, Gris Gris beach, and then back to the retreat around 6:30 p.m.
This island tour cruises from the North West coast to the North, North East, ending on the East part of the island and then hop on a boat trip to the famous tourist resort Ile aux Cerfs island.

The wellness facilities in Mauritius are located a few minutes’ walk from the famous beach of Trou Aux Biches village. The center provides the most unspoiled, pristine, and traditional natural remedies, blending the perfect natural environment with the authentic forms of yoga and Ayurveda from the Himalayas.
The retreat is very close to local amenities, supermarkets, craft shops, diving and sports centers, local cash points, foreign exchange, taxi stands, and bus terminals. The capital city of Mauritius, Port-Louis, is only 30-minute away by bus from Sannyasa retreat facilities. Bus fare hardly costs a Euro to get to Port-Louis. Known for its old architecture and harbor of Mauritius, Port-Louis is a great city to stroll around, providing an excellent history of the French and British colonizations.
The Natural History Museum in Port-Louis contains some fascinating artifacts, such as early maps of the island and paintings of Mauritius' original fauna - including, of course, the dodo. The bell and a cache of Spanish coins from the wreck of the St Géran are also on display. The ship's demise in 1744, off the northeast coast of Mauritius, inspired the famous love story Paul et Virginie by Bernardin de St-Pierre.

To complete your retreat, you will be served with daily vegetarian breakfasts and dinners. The local cooks serve essentially Mauritian vegetarian meals, with seasonal fruits and vegetables. Traces of both northern and southern Indian Mauritian cuisine can be found on the menu.
Common preparations are delicious curry, chutney, rougaille (tomato paste that is very popular on the island) and pickles, most of which use local ingredients. The Mauritian versions of those dishes have a local flavor and differ, at times considerably, from the original Indian recipes.
To add excitement to your retreat, there are a lot of activities that you can do during your free time. As the local beaches are surrounded by strong reefs all around, you can go for snorkeling, trekking all day along the long stretch of beaches, or go for a swim in the shallow and warm sea water.
The ocean route is probably the next best thing to do from Trou Aux Biches, cruising from North West of the island along the coastal roads all the way to the east, where you can take a boat trip to the island of Ile Aux Cerfs. The trip is also best done on the scooter, which allows for reaching each and every beach on the road. There are around a dozen of beaches on the ocean route - each quite different from each other, some of the sandy beaches, rocky beaches, Mediterranean blue water, deep blue water, forest beaches, etc.
You can also book boat trips organized in the area to see dolphins and to visit other small tropical islands around Mauritius. For as little as 30 EUR, you can visit three islands off the north coast of Mauritius. These tours include pick up and drop off from the retreat, free drinks, free open lunch buffet, snorkeling accessories, etc.
The retreat is also close to the popular tourist attraction Pamplemousses Botanical Garden. Pamplemousses is the oldest botanical garden in the Southern Hemisphere and for a long time, it ranked third among all the gardens that could be admired over the surface of the globe. It is famous for its long pond of giant water lilies and the wide variety of plants and flowers covering an area of almost 37 hectares.
The capital city of Mauritius, Port-Louis is only 30 minutes away by bus from our retreat. Known for its old architecture and harbor of Mauritius, Port-Louis is a great city to stroll around, providing an excellent history of the French and British colonizations. Things to see in the capital city are the central market (Victorian style architecture), Caudan Waterfront - the new city of Port-Louis, China Town, the Natural History of Museum (where you can see an actual stuffed dodo as well as other extinct animals), Fort Adelaide - the Citadel, Champ de Mars racecourse, the old Cathedral Church, etc.
The other main landmarks of Mauritius are mostly in the south of the island, which is covered by the island tours organized by the retreat center.
