Even if you are not that into surfing, you are welcome to just relax in the sunshine and get amongst the festivities! Moreover, the clifftop campsite provides campers with gorgeous coastline views that will make you never want to leave. Zarautz Beach camp is the place to enjoy the summer holiday vibes all around, there are daily surf lessons and daily shuttles to Pamplona camp for the Running of the Bulls.
You will be staying at camping accommodation located in Gran Camping Zarautz campground, situated on the gorgeous clifftop overlooking the beautiful beach of Zarautz. It is just 20 minutes outside of beautiful San Sebastian in Spain’s magnificent Basque country. The accommodation includes twin-share pre-erected tents with self-inflating mattresses and sleeping bags.
On this surf camp, you will have daily two-hour surf lesson with the experienced and highly qualified surf instructor team of San Sebastian Surf Camp. If you’re a beginner, they’ll get you standing in no time, and if you’re more experienced, the guides will show you where to get the best waves. If you miss the surf lesson on your day of check-in, you can join the lesson on the day you check out. Furthermore, you can enjoy daily yoga class with the experienced, qualified instructors. A variety of styles such as hungover yoga and fun beach yoga can be expected.
This is a guide itinerary with everything in the all-inclusive package. However, the beauty of staying at the surf camp is that you can do whatever you like, whenever you like, your way. You can wake up to a delicious cooked breakfast whether it be pancakes, bacon and eggs, or a ham and cheese omelet. Head to the beach to wash away the headaches (and mistakes) of the night before. After that, you can enjoy a couple of hours of surfing (with instructors of course), relaxing, soaking up the sun, and playing beach games. Finish your afternoon activities with a cider on the hill, watching the sunset, and then enjoy a big hearty dinner to line the stomach.
You can enjoy cliff jumping when the swell is right. In addition, you can experience all of the weekly activities and adventures and enjoy all the great things the Basque Country has to offer.
This surf camp will take place in Zarautz, Basque Country, Spain. It is full of an international crowd of beginner and experienced surfers. It is also the perfect base or side trip to combo with your wine-fight, BBK-Live, or running with the bulls trip.
Basque Country has a bunch of activities, from horseback riding and paragliding for the adrenaline junkie to pintxo tours through the Michelin-starred streets of San Sebastian for the foodies. Whatever happens, it will surely end in a massive party with your newfound friends hopping from one bar to another Spanish-style or dancing until the sun comes up over Beach of La Concha.
Daily healthy homemade breakfast and dinner will be served for you during the surf camp. All dietary requirements can be catered for on request.
If you plan to travel by airplane, arriving at Bilbao Airport (BIO) is the easiest option. There is a bus straight from the airport to San Pelaio station. Moreover, there is Pesa Airport Bus that leaves every 30 minutes out front of the airport direct to San Pelaio Station Zarautz as well. You may ask the driver to alight at the station.
If you arrive at Biarritz Pays Basque Airport (BIQ), you can take the train changing at Hendaye or bus directly to San Sebastian central station.
If you arrive at San Sebastián Airport (EAS), there are buses from the airport to San Sebastian town. Although this is the closest airport but not the easiest to get from.
The Regional and International trains will arrive at Donostia Station in San Sebastian. You will need to head over to Amara Station (Euskotren), then jump on any train headed towards Bilbao and get off at San Pelaio Station in Zarautz. The journey is approximately 20 minutes.
In order to get from San Sebastion and Bilbao to Zarautz, you can board the local train called Euskotren, it is a good way to get there. The trains run from San Sebastian (Amara) to Zarautz (San Pelaio) from the early morning until about 10 p.m, the trip costs 2 EUR and takes 20 minutes.
