The retreat is housed in a beautiful Caribbean-colonial style house. There are double rooms and twin rooms available. The double rooms are either Savasana or Samasthiti and the private rooms are Moksha. Moksha is equipped with an ensuite bathroom, microwave, and mini-fridge. All the rooms have balconies or patios, towels, and Wi-Fi access.

The retreat center is passionate about sustainability and self-sufficient living. The house is powered by solar energy and the main water supply is from filtered rain water. As such, guests are reminded to practice mindfulness when using water and electricity during their stay.

Most of the meals provided are prepared with fresh produce from our organic garden. If guests choose to take part in the yoga package, they are required to take part in two hours of Seva or selfless service daily. This may include helping in the garden or with housekeeping duties.

Moksha room

A cozy annex off the Main Retreat House. This is a self-contained room with an en-suite bathroom. Furnished with one double bed, wardrobe and night stand, it is also equipped with a mini fridge, a microwave, and private porch.

Views of both the Caribbean ocean and the garden from surrounding windows make it one of our preferred rooms by couples. This room is well suited for persons taking part in our yoga program as well as vacationers who simply wish for a bed and breakfast experience at Samadhi.

Savasana and Samasthiti rooms

These dormitory-style bedrooms are located on the upper floor in the Main Retreat House. They are restricted by gender and have a shared bathroom between them. They each have two twin beds, a wardrobe, and night stands. They each feature a lovely balcony overlooking the gardens and surrounding mountainside.

Garden huts 1 and 2

These quaint, cottage style huts are the newest addition to the retreat. They are located behind the main retreat house. Set amidst the lush fruit trees they are an ideal escape for retreat goers. Large windows make this space a delight overlooking the gardens and the vast mountainside.

They are each furnished with a queen size bed, simple chair and desk, a night stand, and a window seat. A little balcony to the front equipped with a hammock, makes it a favorite among guests. A shared bath house with two toilets, two showers, and a washing station is located adjacent to the huts.


All yoga classes involve a series of physiological exercises that are modified to accommodate each individual participant. These include stretching, warm ups, postures, pranayama (breathing exercises), deep relaxation, self awareness strategies, imagery for healing, support group discussions, and inspirational readings.

Hatha yoga

Hatha yoga is a system used to balance the opposing energies in the body via physical postures and breathing exercises.

Restorative yoga

Restorative yoga involves stillness and gentle movement for extended periods of time to realign the body and breath. Props such as cushions and straps assist in helping to remain in the postures comfortably.

Yoga of Recovery

Yoga of Recovery integrates the wisdom of yoga and Ayurveda with the tools of 12-step recovery. It is an aid to those who wish to overcome self-destructive or addictive tendencies.

Cardiac yoga

Cardiac yoga is a specifically designed program of stress management and health improvement for heart patients.

Chair yoga

Chair yoga uses modified postures so that they can be done while seated in a chair. These modifications make yoga accessible to people who cannot stand or lack the mobility to move easily from standing to seated to supine positions.

Dominique Samaroo
Dominique is a certified Hatha yoga Instructor from The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre. Dominique was introduced to yoga during her time as a pre- professional dancer. She has grown from practicing yoga as a form of exercise into her way of life. Her path of service and teaching has led her to be the administrative manager of the retreat.
Judith Samaroo
Judith is a certified yoga instructor and Thai masseuse at Samadhi. She is a former primary and pre-school teacher for 15 years. She started practicing yoga in 2011. She received her teaching certifications from the Himalayan Yoga Institute in India and the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre. Judith is also an experienced chef specializing in Ayurvedic cuisine and nutrition.

The isle of Tobago is an easily accessible paradise for Trinidadians or other souls in search of an escape from the traffic, hustle, and bustle of a vastly modernized mainland.

The price of the package includes daily brunch and dinner. All meals served at the retreat are prepared using the traditional methods of a vegetarian Ayurvedic diet.

Instructor Judith Samaroo, who is the head chef, is a certified Ayurvedic nutritionist specializing in healthy, fulfilling meals for each person's body constitution. The menu also caters for people with food allergies and restrictions including lactose intolerance, gluten intolerance, and veganism.
