Accommodation is provided in beautifully furnished 5-metre bell tents. Nestled amongst the lemon and orange groves, the bell tents are simple but sumptuous, with electricity and comfortable beds. Each tent can sleep up to three people. Crisp bed linen and pool towels are provided. There are solar hot and cold powered showers facilities. Internet access is available. There is a small shop on site for all those little essentials you might need.


Styles of yoga to be taught

All practices will be a mix of styles inspired by Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Hatha. Ashtanga and Hatha are different branches of physical yoga. Ashtanga has a set series of sequences, Hatha has more freedom and variations to change. Vinyasa is a developed style from Ashtanga, instead of holding postures you will usually flow through a sequence.

In classes, Michelle will provide a mix of these three styles, she has developed her own style of sequencing that combines the ‘best bits’ from each style so you can get a taste of everything. Michelle delivers this movement meditation with clear instructions to aid conscious placement into poses. You will experience a collection of static asanas, balances, sun salutations and flows that include mobility, fluidity and stability. Michelle will guide you through meditations and deep relaxation that will leave you feeling revitalized.

You will have a gentle practice in the evenings and more dynamic practices in the morning. The whole retreat will be accessible for the absolute beginner and for the advance practitioner, there will be plenty of variations and developments for everyone to try.

Your Rustic Retreats Journey

The weeks theme is about moving consciously and bringing awareness into your yoga. This mixed style retreat will help bring stability, mobility and strength to your practice. The collection of styles you experience will give you an idea of the freedom you can have with the way that you move. You will be guided through 2 daily yoga practices, in the morning a more dynamic start to the day and in the evening a more gentle restorative approach.

Five informative body awareness workshops during the week will give you an in depth knowledge on specific postures and breathing exercises. Everything will be linked together, what you learn in the workshops, you will have the opportunity to apply to your practice and vice verse. All classes and workshops will have a focus and you will get a bundle of material that you can take away with you. so you don’t have to worry about taking all the information in at one go. Michelle will guide you through meditations that will be easy to translate into your everyday life. You will not only experience breathing exercises but also walking meditations and yoga Nidra. Michelle aims to help you find your conscious mind by working on simple meditations that can also benefit all aspects of your life. If you are quite advanced in some breathing techniques there will be plenty of opportunity for development. Michelle is aiming to strip things back to basics with breathing. Sometimes the most simple things can be the most beneficial.

There is one workshop a day, it may be in the morning or afternoon. There is also the option to visit local markets on Wednesday and Sunday.


All the workshops are about being honest with ourselves, finding out where our body and mind is at this present moment. If you have that interest in learning more about your body then this is the retreat for you. All the workshops consist of mini exercises that are easy to remember and have huge benefits to your yoga practice. They refresh your head with new ways to access a posture. Finding different ways of engaging muscles you never even knew you had before! Michelle has a lot of interesting unique exercises that might not be yoga related but will bring a positive progression to a yoga practice. It’s all about thinking a little bit deeper, questioning things a little bit more.

Workshop 1 - Sun Salutation exploration

In this workshop you will focus on two types of sun salutations which will be broken down slowly. You will explore how they can be developed, find suitable variations and will learn adjustments so your salutations can be accessible. Michelle will highlight how transitional movement is just as important as static postures and we will learn ways to find control.

Workshop 2 - Find your spine

This workshop is all about getting the spine moving. Michelle finds a lot of teachers (including herself) love alignment. While alignment is a lovely thing to achieve we can also forget the spine is designed to move, bend and twist. We bring focus to specific postures like cat cow and forward folds, work through some exercises that help isolate certain areas of the spine and other exercises that help move all the way through the spine. You will take away techniques that can easily be practiced at home to help improve spine mobility.

Workshop 3 - Happy Hips, Happy Hamstrings

We bring specific focus to postures like half moon, warrior three and camel pose. With use of equipment like blocks, we do exercises that bring activation into the hamstrings without over stretching. You will also find your hip mobility and stability. Our pelvis is the heaviest part of our body and can often dictate our movement without even being aware of it. This workshop will help you understand whats going on with your hips and find ways to bring more control to that area.

Workshop 4 - Wrist mobility, shoulder stability

Our main focus for this workshop is the chaturanga and again finding variations that work for your body. We will do lots of wrist and shoulder strengthening exercises to learn more about our shoulder and wrist strength, stability and mobility. It's about being honest with ourselves, is our body ready to perform the full expression of the chaturanga repeatedly? Lets find out!

Workshop 5 - Bringing Breath Back

Michelle is going to focus on a few key breathing exercises that you can take home with you. Alternate nostril breathing, humming bee and ujyai. She will take you through the basics and ways that you can develop these techniques to suit you. Three conscious breaths and walking meditation are some meditation exercises that are simple techniques to help you incorporate snippets of calm into your life. The whole workshop is aimed to help bring breath into your everyday life.


Michelle Williamson
Michelle's first experience with yoga was when she was training as a professional dancer. She was lucky enough to be surrounded by teachers hugely interested in mindful movement and began absorbing the benefits from then on. Michelle qualified as an Ashtanga-Vinyasa teacher after studying at Sampoorna Yoga in Goa two years ago after teaching and performing dance for over ten years. She been teaching in different places in England ever since. She teaches a variety of styles: Vinyasa flow, Ashtanga, yin yang flows, but her passion is a fusion of Ashtanga Vinyasa.

Stimulate all your senses whilst you absorb the bright colors, beautiful textures, tantalizing flavors, and sublime aromas of the fresh food served at Rustic Retreats. The chef will create a myriad of fresh, healthy vegetarian meals to tantalize your pallet, all using the ripest, freshest, seasonal ingredients that are locally produced either from their very own organic garden and vegetable patch or from the local market and farmers.

Varieties of fruit are growing freely on the site such as lemons, oranges, almonds, pomegranate, and carob to name but a few. All vegetarian meals are lovingly prepared by a trained chef in the outdoor kitchen and are served 'al fresco' whenever possible. All meals are included in the price. The meals have been so popular with the clients that they are looking at producing a recipe book for next season.

Example menu:

  • Start the day with a fruit smoothie or refreshing mint tea.
  • Breakfast baby spinach omelet, cereals, fruit and French toast.
  • Lunch bell pepper frittata, bean and yogurt salad, and pumpkin bread.
  • Evening meal squash and zucchini casserole with wild rice and lemon tart.


  • All day snack menu is available but cost is not included in the price. Alcohol is available at a small extra charge.
