You will be staying at Villa Pitirre, a rustic wooden home with five acres and a creek, nestled within the El Yunque National Forest region. You can enjoy the sounds of birds, owls, and coquíes, a small frog native to Puerto Rico. Villa Pitirre has easy access to hiking and other outdoor activities. There is also Wi-Fi, a washer, dryer, and shared bathroom.

    Jendar Marie Morales was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She has studied various styles of yoga including Bikram, Kundalini, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Hatha. She is now a Yoga Alliance Registered master teacher focusing on Hatha, Vinyasa, and Restorative styles of yoga. In addition to her yoga studies, Jendar holds an MA in museum studies from New York University. She currently lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she helps run the University of Utah Yoga Teacher Training and teaches yoga all around the city.

  • Lidith Ramos

    Yoga instructor with 12 years of experience registered in Yoga Alliance, E-RYT 200, and YACEP. Lidith started with a vinyasa practice evolving eventually towards Forrest yoga. Trained directly by Ana Forrest, Lidith has spent 11 years sharing this practice and is currently the only Forrest yoga instructor in Puerto Rico. Lidith has assisted Ana Forrest in yoga workshops in the United States and has worked closely with her mentor, Heidi Sormaz, assisting her in advanced training for yoga instructors.

You will be staying at Villa Pitirre, a beautiful home located in Canóvanas, Puerto Rico, by El Yunque National Forest region. In this location, you are offered cultural activities that will expose you to the history, art, traditions, agriculture, and cuisine of this enchanted Caribbean island. You will also spend time in the rainforest experiencing some of the best nature the island has to offer.

Raíces Yoga and Culture Retreat will be partnering with Que Viva Foods to provide you with wonderful vegetarian or vegan meals. Que Viva Foods is a Puerto Rican team of culinary professionals with a passion for preserving the nutritional integrity food.

Melissa Montañez, the chef for Que Viva Foods, will be preparing the meals on site using only locally grown and organic ingredients of the highest quality. Melissa will also be teaching an interactive Puerto Rican cooking class.
