Join this wonderful yoga retreat in Costa Rica. Enjoy blissful yoga practices surrounded by pristine coastline and a luscious subtropical climate that will rejuvenate your body. You will have plenty of time to explore the natural surroundings. Immerse yourself in the delights of a wonderful beach, awake your consciousness, and relax your body and mind while you let yoga become a spiritual experience in your life.
Nestled in the jungle on a private six-mile beach, the award-winning Iguana Lodge offers a chic, modern twist on jungle living. The lodge boasts a lap pool, Jacuzzi, spa, two gourmet restaurants, a bar, and two beautiful yoga decks.
For more of a jungle experience, you can choose to stay in a private Casita. With both jungle and ocean views, this secluded two story tree house is an airy, large space with a queen and daybed, a luxurious private deck with hammocks and chairs, a large bathing area (with the option of a private outdoor jungle shower), and a relaxing reading nook with a private library.
The retreat includes two daily, outdoor yoga practices; morning practice on the ocean facing yoga deck and evening practice on the lofted treehouse-style deck nestled in the jungle. Morning practice will be a powerful, flowing ashtanga-based style, accompanied by the ocean waves. Evening practice will be workshop style, with individual attention on handstands, back-bending, arm balancing and more, accompanied by the sounds of the Costa Rican Rainforest.
All levels are welcome and individual goals and needs will be addressed. Prasada Yoga Center aims to give you both the rigor of their practices and teaching as well as the freedom to make this week exactly what you want and need from a vacation!
Enjoy complimentary boogie boards and stand up paddle boards in the warm Pacific Ocean, take out a complimentary kayak to explore the nearby reef, or head up the Platanares River and explore a gorgeous mangrove estuary.
This retreat will be held at the Iguana Lodge & Spa resort, located at the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica. Costa Rica represents less than 0.3% of the world's landmass but contains over 5% of global biodiversity. Within this very small geographic area, the Osa Peninsula contains 2.5% of the earth's biodiversity, including many species found nowhere else on the planet.
Osa is described by National Geographic as one of the most biologically intense places on earth. The peninsula offers the best of both worlds; lush tropical rainforest and beautiful wide beaches.
During this retreat, you will be served three daily gourmet meals per day. The Iguana Lodge & Spa Resort has two delightful dinning places.
The Iguana Rancho dinner serves quite varied types of international dishes that include six to ten interesting side dishes that are designed to perfectly accompany the main dish, a vegetarian protein, a large variety of fresh eclectic salads, vegetable dishes, and gluten free options. All food is companied with fresh homemade bread. Tasty desserts like chocolate souffle with coffee cream, key lime pie with coconut crust, Rios famous ginger creme brule, plum tarts, mango crisp, coconut flan, tropical cobbler, pecan pie, coconut cream pie, banana cream pie, and banana chocolate cream pie are also served.
The Pearl of the Osa Beach Bar & Grill menus are extensive, with favorites dishes like fish tacos with ginger marmalade, Glorias burrito, avocado orange salad, walnut goat cheese salad, chilled gazpacho with avocado, and homemade coffee ice cream. The food is modern, fresh, and edgy. Also, the bartenders make great tropical drinks, you may try a passionfruit daiquiri, the signature ginger spritzer, fresh squeezed frozen lemonades, fruit smoothies, and the coldest beer.
There are some great surf spots for all levels on the Osa, including the Matapalo area and Pavones (the second largest left-hand wave in the world). Guided jungle hikes, horseback riding, zip lining, tree climbing and waterfall rappelling, bird and monkey watching with the Iguana Lodge in house naturalist, are just some of the many adventures the area has to offer.
