Lord Howe Island is a place of peace, tranquility and seclusion. For many of our guests, a week on the island is their only chance to escape the persistent phone calls, emails and traffic jams of the real world, and enjoy a much simpler lifestyle that rejuvenates the mind, body and soul. A Pinetrees holiday has always featured healthy food, daily exercise in spectacular locations, massage, socializing with like-minded people and, of course, sleeping. During Wellness Week we include a daily program of yoga, spa treatments, massage, aerobic fitness and wholefood cooking classes, as well as our ‘normal’ repertoire of swimming, snorkeling, diving, surfing, kayaking, walking, golf, biking and mountain climbing. Combining these activities with three gourmet meals every day, and a complete disconnect from the outside world means you’ll experience one of the most rejuvenating weeks of your life.
Pinetrees Lodge is one of the oldest family businesses in Australia. We are famous for exceptional meals, personalized service, comfortable accommodation and our stunning beachfront location. There's so much more to Pinetrees than a comfortable bed and satisfying meal. The unique Pinetrees experience is partly due to our location on Lagoon Beach, our authentic family hospitality and friendly staff, and our close proximity to the island's other attractions. The 'X factor', though, is what happens when guests have no access to wi-fi, mobile phones and TVs. Instead of 'cocooning' in their rooms, guests start to talk to each other. Add a few drinks, a spectacular sunset, and an adventurous day, and often for the first time in years, people make new friends.
Itinerary schedule and inclusions are subject to change anytime. Please note that the first class will be on Monday morning and the last class will be on Friday afternoon.
Lord Howe Island is one of the most spectacular destinations in the world. It's dramatic scenery, lush subtropical forests, rare flora and fauna, pristine beaches and colorful marine life are breathtaking and unique. In combination with a warm climate, vibrant local community and great range of world-class activities, Lord Howe is the perfect destination for all ages. In recognition of its scenic beauty and biodiversity, Lord Howe was inscribed as a World Heritage site in 1982. More recently, National Geographic named Lord Howe as one of their 'Places of a Lifetime'. Just under a 2 hour flight from Sydney or Brisbane it's incredibly accessible yet wonderfully remote.
Pinetrees may be remote, but we provide world-class meals. Our chefs have worked in some of Australia's best restaurants. Breakfast starts with fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and a sprinkle of semi-dried Persian fruits. Soon after, you'll have a choice from our daily menu. Options include: free range eggs Benedict with smoked ham and Hollandaise on brioche, button mushroom, spinach and hazelnut salad with scrambled eggs and hazelnut vinaigrette; or smoked bacon, cheddar and spinach quesadilla with avocado and coriander salsa.
For lunch, you can join us at Pinetrees for our 'plat du jour', beautiful salads and home-made bread. Better still, we'll gladly pack fresh kingfish, lamb chops, sausages, salads and cheese into an esky and local panda nus basket, and deliver them to one of the many idyllic barbecue spots on the island for your own private lunch. There’s no additional charge, it’s just part of the Pinetrees experience. For guests who return to the lodge mid-afternoon, either from an adventure or a siesta, afternoon tea is always a treat. Our pastry chef prepares scones, cakes or pastries every afternoon to accompany your tea or coffee. Many guests touch base at afternoon tea and compare stories from their day.
It's dinner, though, where our meals stand out. Our chefs use fresh local seafood, local produce and other quality ingredients to create memorable four course dinners. Some evenings, we start with sunset canapés and champagne on the boat shed deck. We always provide a 'lighter option' for guests who prefer simple food, and can tailor our menu for most dietary requirements. Many guests say that Pinetrees dinners are the best they've had.
Pinetrees Lorde Howe Island offer diving, snorkeling, surfing, swimming, bush walking, fishing, golf, photography, bird watching, stand-up paddle boarding, cycling, relaxing, shopping, hiking, kite surfing, bus tour of island, boat trips.
The Pinetrees Day Spa offers massage and facial treatments to help you relax and rejuvenate. Our massage products from LI’TYA are made with organic or sustainably wild harvested Australian native ingredients, and blended with the highest quality botanical bases. LI’TYA products do not contain sulfates, petro-chemicals, synthetic fragrances or mineral oils. We offer Swedish and Deep Tissue massage treatments. Our beauty products from ASPECT use certified organic ingredients and are free of pesticides, perfumes and dyes. Guest feedback is always good and a journalist from the Australian Yoga Journal recently described her treatment as “one of the best massages I’ve ever had (a statement which, given my penchant for both travel and massage, is no small claim)”.
