Join James and Rory, experienced yogis, teacher trainers and good friends. Between them, they have taught over 30 teacher training courses, and have now come together by popular demand to create the Path of Yoga training. They share a love for a strong yet nourishing dynamic practice married with traditional Hatha. The practically applied philosophy of yoga and its sacred traditions is the essence and heart of this immersion course.

During this retreat, you will stay at Kaomai Lanna Resort with an option of a shared room, a single room, or a deluxe room. All the rooms are peaceful, air-conditioned, and are beautifully decorated. The yoga shala is bright, open and spacious and provides the perfect environment for deepening your practice.
The Yoga Alliance certified training provides a month of Hatha, Vinyasa, Breathwork, Meditation, philosophy, self-development, healing, and all the skills necessary to become a successful yoga teacher. A yoga teacher training course can be, and often is the beginning of a new chapter in your lives. It is not the final objective or goal, but a beautiful step on the Path of Yoga.
Each morning, you will start the day with three hours of practice made up of asana, pranayama, and meditation, followed by a healthy breakfast. You will then move into presentations ranging from philosophy and functional anatomy to sequencing and structuring and much more! The afternoons are spent diving deeper into the methodology of chosen yoga asana and practices, learning how to better understand and teach them effectively.
This is a great opportunity to spend a month with three experienced teacher trainers, including both the founding teachers of Path of Yoga. At the end of the month, you will be a certified Yoga Alliance 200-hour teacher, but more importantly, you will have the necessary confidence, knowledge, and teaching skills to blossom into a world class yoga teacher.
An exploration of the classical traditions and their core philosophies, including Hatha, Tantra, and Vinyasa yoga. Learn about where the roots of yoga first took hold and how it has branched into where it is now.
The anatomy of movement and study of the key body systems. You will explore how the body works, and apply this important knowledge in safe and effective practice and teaching.
Daily study and practice of postures and their alignment, adjustments, energetic and health benefits, modifications, and effective teaching cues.
Prana and the Chakras. Ancient yogis described and revered the anatomy and potency of the energy body, what lay beyond the physical form. There are many layers to understanding and experiencing prana, this prime life force and how it moves through the Chakras or energetic centers. These teachings are at the very core of what makes yoga such a potent and timeless practice.
The breath is the connection to life and the foundation of all classical Hatha yoga practice. The breath has a profound influence on the nervous system and a deep effect on life quality, both on and off the yoga mat. Many practices will be offered from basic breath awareness to “advanced” pranayama.
You will learn how to use the toolkit offered in the yoga system to create meaningful sequences. A good class is not just anatomically sound but also meaningful on more subtle levels.
Understanding your own mind and its makeup is an important part of being a guide in any practice. The power of meditation is significant. You will study and practice a variety of techniques that are aimed at the development of your own personal meditation practice and being able to hold space when teaching.
A fascinating and practical science of life from ancient India that offers tools to better understand yourself and others therapeutically through the context of the doshas, gunas, and prana.
The necessary skills to confidently lead a yoga class is obviously an important part of taking a teacher training course. There will be plenty of practice teaching: one on one, in small groups, and in front of the whole class coupled with the art and science of teaching and presenting.

The 200-hour certificate will be awarded upon completion of all course requirements. This certificate is all you need to immediately apply for your Yoga Alliance RYT200 Certification, a certification recognized worldwide. A detailed 150+ page Training Manual is also included.
The locations will always be in beautiful retreat centers in nature, carefully selected to provide a comfortable and safe space to facilitate what might be the most transformational month of your life so far. Included in the price of the training, there will be an optional day trip on one of the days off. Rory and James will take you on an adventure into the Thai countryside to a place of natural beauty. Rory and James are not going to spoil the surprise just yet though.
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 (Hatha Yoga)
Rory is a Scottish yogi, yoga teacher, and a certified yoga therapist. He has been teaching around the globe since 2007. Rory has become popular for his wide-ranging knowledge, charisma, humor, and ability to transmit the teachings of Hatha, Kundalini, Tantra, yoga therapy, meditation, and classical eastern philosophy. He has facilitated over 20 yoga teacher trainings and taught on much more for several yoga schools. He is also a senior teacher for Tribe Yoga, Agama yoga, Seasonal yoga, and Satyaloka.
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 (Hatha Yoga)
James was born in London and first discovered yoga in 2003, while at Drama School. However, he truly caught the bug a few years later while performing in a Shakespeare production which toured India. His routine of sunrise practices overlooking the rooftops of Udaipur with an old yogi called Prakash sealed the deal. Since completing his 500 hours with Tribe, James has done 200 hours with Max Strom and taken further training with David Swenson, Yogrishi Vishvketu, and Tiffany Cruickshank, and has studied for eight months at the Tantric Yoga University Agama.
Tara has been exploring movement as medicine for as long as she can remember. Tara's fascination with the body prompted her to delve into Thai massage and extensive anatomy studies. Today, Tara is finishing her professional training of the Feldenkrais Method, a science and art she believes to be an unparalleled approach to functional body / mind union and revelation. She teaches Somatic movement and integrates it into Somatic Yoga, a practice of building asana from its functional architecture. She has also integrated her knowledge into this and now practices her own style of therapeutic massage.
This retreat will take place in Kaomai Lanna, Chiang Mau. Kaomai Lanna is 45 minutes from Chiang Mai Airport, in Northern Thailand. It is one of Path of Yoga’s favorite retreat centers and they are really happy to have secured it for your October training.
Each day of this retreat, you will be served three delicious, vegetarian meals. Vegan and gluten-free meals are also available upon request.
During your free time, take the opportunity to explore the surrounding countryside or sample the sumptuous delights of Chiang Mai. Besides that, you can also chill out by the beautiful pool, use the onsite spa, relax within the picturesque grounds, or take a day trip into Chiang Mai during the weekends.

Please book your flight to arrive at Chiang Mai Airport (CNX). Transfer from the airport is included. Path of Yoga will pick you up from the airport or from Chiang Mai center at 1 p.m. on May 6.
