During the retreat, you will be staying at The Sherwood, a recently renovated guest rooms traverse the humble luxury of a lakeside studio to the communal comfort of a queen-size bunk room and cater for any independent traveler seeking atmosphere and authenticity.
You’ll find the sheltered central garden perfect for spontaneous leisure, sun-drenched breakfasts, late afternoon cocktails, or a fireside sing-along while the surrounding bike track, kitchen gardens, orchard, and sunset tipi provide many a hidden spot for a picnic or snooze.
For the rooms at Sherwood, they have natural comforts in their purest form, inspiration found in art and culture, balanced against the genetics of a mid-80’s hotel building, and above all a place where you can enjoy a good sleep.
The room mini-bar is stocked with a curated selection of craft beer, organic New Zealand sodas, and a rotating placement of natural tea and fine spirits. For comfort and warmth wrap yourself in a thick woolen blanket courtesy of South Island flocks, wash with essential manuka honey and Myrtle, gaze upon custom wall art and appreciate the cultural richness of handwoven furnishings.
Welcomed with a fresh rejuvenating juice, you’ll meet the NZ Adventure Retreat team and receive your goody bag with everything you’ll need for the four days. We then set off for a late afternoon mountain hike with mountain-top yoga to the ground and connect, taking in the views of majestic Queenstown, inhaling the fresh air and being with nature.
A delicious and nutritious in-house dinner follows as you return to home base where you kick off your first workshop that will help you to visualize and set goals that will get you amped and ready to live your best life!
You start the day with a charged breakfast and head out to some of the fabulous Queenstown mountain bike trails. With a local knowledge, you tackle some of the most stunning trail (intermediate level) and finish off with a soak in a hot pool.
Go ease into the evening with a Yin yoga practice to restore and stretch the muscles worked on our big ride and follow with a wholesome meal to replenish and refuel the body for the next day of adventure.
Starting the day with a Vinyasa yoga class to awaken and mobilize the body, you are set up for a day of outdoor rock climbing. Lead by a local guide, you climb to great heights conquering our fears and are rewarded with magic views and a great sense of accomplishment. Late afternoon relaxation incorporates massages and chill-out time to reflect and journal. In the evening, you dig a little deeper into the goals and what might be holding us back from being bold and courageous.
A tasty breakfast gets us started before we take our yoga practice to the lake with stand-up paddle yoga. After a warm-up paddle along the crystal clear waters of Lake Wakatipu, you flow together on the lake. You wrap up the afternoon together with a sitdown lunch, sharing the highlights of your four days together. Before the farewells, you will be set up with the tools to turn your dreams into reality and the inspiration to keep you on track.
Enjoy the rock climbing, guided mountain hike and biking, and stand up paddle board instruction and adventures as part of the program.
This yoga retreat is set on three acres of alpine hillside in Queenstown, New Zealand, overlooking Lake Wakatipu and the remarkable mountain range. This location offers a unique setting to unwind and reconnect with self and nature.
During the retreat, you will have three daily meals that are emphasized on close to natural organic produce.
Please book your flight to arrive at Queenstown Airport (ZQN). Transfer from and to the airport is included. NZ Adventure Retreats will pick you up from the airport.
