Wake up at 08:00 with a morning yoga session followed by a delicious healthy breakfast. After breakfast, head to the beach to surf the waves and return just in time for lunch. After lunch, go for an afternoon hike in search finding a secluded place to rejuvenate by one of the three different beaches. The evenings you will have the option of attending another yoga or meditation session followed by a delicious locally sourced meal prepared by the local chef, Meghan Pearson. With close access to a local community, you can venture out for a couple beers or continue to relax at the Nosara B&B Retreat.
The whole idea behind this retreat is to allow yourself to unplug and rejuvenate. The beauty is to have an unstructured itinerary so you can find time to slow things down and reconnect with yourself. You live in such a chaotic world that sometimes simplicity is a beautiful thing. Plus, it leaves room for spontaneous moments. Optional activities can be arranged either beforehand or upon arrival at Nosara.
Daily yoga and meditation sessions will take place in the open air yoga pavilion surrounded by lush jungle; on the beach at low tide, providing the perfect place for a playful practice; or along the shore at sunset for quiet introspective guided and self-meditations. Each session throughout the week will build upon the previous. An interwoven fusion of dynamic breath focused Vinyasa; deep restorative healing; postural and movement breakdown, alignment, and exploration; and deep intrigue and discussions into the practice; all layered to deepen your practice and cultivate the space to journey into the depths of the self.
Nosara is a remote and tranquil beach community located in the central area of the Nicoya Peninsula, in the province of Guanacaste. It is a one-of-a-kind place, with rare animals, birds, and fresh ocean air. Mailing addresses do not exist here. There are no paved roads, street lights or street names. Pura Vida, the pure life, embodies the beauty of existing in each moment, fully grasping the millennium-old Latin saying “carpe diem”, seize the day. Seize the opportunity to embrace this relaxed, blissful, and inspirational lifestyle.
The beaches of Nosara are part of one of Costa Rica’s protected wildlife preserves, devoid of large hotels and dedicated to the preservation of turtle nesting, making it an ideal place for a nature lover’s or surfer’s vacation. You can enjoy miles of breathtaking, unspoiled beaches, abundant in opportunities for exploration, adventure or tranquility, and relaxation. In the green season, Nosara is home to rich rivers, waterfalls, and wildlife.
Increasingly a Mecca for yoga and individuals seeking a healthy lifestyle, Nosara incorporates many elements of the Blue Zone of Nicoya, to which it belongs, a region of the world where people engage in practices that result in increased longevity. These practices include ensuring the surroundings comprised of clean air, abundant nature, enjoying life, consumption of pure healthy foods, active lifestyle, a strong network of community relationships, a vital spiritual connection, and a passionate involvement in work and / or family.
Nosara also prides itself in being one of the oldest expatriate communities of Costa Rica, and travelers are treated to their choice of fine restaurants and lodging, along with spa, and health services. The residents of Nosara are committed to preserving the natural environment, evidenced by a moratorium on hunting animals and timber logging that stretches back for over 20 years.
"No shoes no shirt" Nosara is how some describe this beach area famous for surf and yoga, but there’s a worldly element here as well as sophisticated travelers have discovered this serene, unspoiled corner of Costa Rica. Located where the turtles meet the monkeys, this area has enjoyed both the protection of the national park system, as well as the decades-old efforts of the local citizens association that keep the beaches pristine and ensure hundreds of acres of protected forest interspersed with small-scale development.
Nosara serves as a perfect example of planned growth that is the model for development in other areas of Costa Rica. The civic association was established to safeguard the interests of the people in the zone as well as the environment. As a result, Nosara enjoys Costa Rica's most pristine beaches, a true natures lover's paradise.

The Nosara wildlife rescue and Sibu sanctuary takes care of newborns, orphans, and recently injured wild animals, giving them medical care and shelter during their immediate recovery. Animals then transfer to the Howler monkey at Nosara wildlife refuge sanctuary for further rehabilitation; they live in natural habitats in preparation for reintegration back into the wild. Animals that cannot survive on their own are given a permanent home at the Sibu sanctuary.
