    The beautiful property, Shanti Retreat, has stunning views of the Saint Lawrence River and sunsets from the waterfront patio. The inn’s timbered ceilings and wood stove provide a natural country charm. Furthermore, the Asian décor and sacred spaces bring the ambiance of peace and tranquility.

    At Shanti Retreat, you can use the amenities provided such as a wellness tea bar, infrared sauna, canoe, kayaks, fire pit, water trampoline, hammocks, meditation garden, walking and cycling routes, and Balinese hut. If you need to stay connected, there is also Wi-Fi facility to use.

    Yoga classes will incorporate various elements of Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin for all levels. You can do all of the classes, a few of the classes, or simply take a rest, nap or enjoy any of Shanti’s amenities. You can hang out in hammocks, swim, paddle canoes / kayaks, bounce on a water trampoline, and much more. You can shape your own experience, so feel free to run, read, or enjoy the infrared sauna. This is truly your time.

      Anjeli Yoga Teacher Training (Yoga)

      Jaffer combined his love of athletics and yoga in 2010. He completed his 200-hour yoga teacher training at Anjeli Yoga Teacher Training in Mississauga, Ontario. His teachings are inspired by his mentor and friend, Dallas Delahunt. Since being introduced to yoga, he can no longer imagine a life without it. He feels yoga brings a unique combination of mindful awareness, spiritual enlightenment, and physical strength. What he learns on the mat will often be a reflection of himself off the mat.

    Driving directions from the East or West

    • Coming from the East or West on the 401, turn off at exit 623.
    • Travel South on highway 15 until it ends at highway 2.
    • Turn right on highway 2 and continue for a few kilometers.
    • Once you cross the drawbridge, enter the left lane and prepare to turn left into the Wolfe Island ferry dock (next to the gas station).
    • Once you’re on Wolfe Island, it is only a 5-minute drive away.
    • Shanti Retreat highly recommends setting your trip meter to zero once you arrive on the island.
    • After leaving the ferry, continue 100 meters and turn left at the stop sign.
    • Continue 4 kilometers until you reach Waldo’s Lane on your left.
    • It is important to note that on your way to Waldo’s Lane, you will pass the 9th line.
    • Continue 400 meters past the 9th line and prepare to turn left onto Waldo’s Lane.
    • Look for the cartoon character Waldo on the hydro pole leading to Waldo’s lane (you’ve gone too far if you reach the 10th line).
    • Once on Waldo’s lane, continue straight for 500 meters to reach Shanti Retreat.

    Arrival by bus

    The most economical way to reach Kingston is by bus. Megabus Bus Line offers service from Toronto’s downtown terminal at Bay and Dundas as well as from Scarborough, Whitby, Brockville, and Montreal. You can also reach Kingston by Via Rail. From either the Kingston bus or train station, it’s a short 15-minute taxi ride (15 USD) to the Wolfe Island ferry.

    Arrival by ferry / boat

    From Toronto and Montreal, it takes about 3 hours to reach the Wolfe Island’s ferry dock in downtown Kingston where the free ferry (Wolfe Island Ferry) departs hourly. On the other hand, if you are coming from Ottawa, the drive takes about 2 hours. Coming from New York, you can conveniently reach Shanti Retreat by ferry (Hornes Ferry) from Cape Vincent. This service operates approximately from mid-May to mid-October. Otherwise, the 1000 Islands International Bridge is nearby.

    There are a couple of options available to reduce your waiting time. If possible, come earlier to catch the 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. ferry. The 4 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m. ferries will be busier. During the peak summer months and holiday long weekends, Shanti Retreat recommends you arriving 1 hour before the ferry departs.

    Arrival by shuttle

    Alternatively, there is a shuttle service available from the airport in Syracuse and Watertown to Kingston and the Wolfe Island ferry terminal.

    Arrival by train

    From the Kingston train station, it’s a short 15-minute taxi ride (15 USD) to the Wolfe Island ferry.
