During this retreat, you will stay at Villa des Oliviers. Located on a World Heritage site, the villa is surrounded by numerous olive trees dating back 2000 years. The villa, surrounded by this landscape, evokes the golden age in the 1950’s Café Society and an aristocracy which embraced modernity while remaining linked to the past.
Upon entering the villa, the collection of art and objects will transport you into the culture of the 20th century. You can imagine seeing Maria Callas chatting with Jackie Kennedy, being hosted by Gianni Agnelli. While the mood of this bygone era remains, you are invited to make your mark in this historical setting.
Your yoga teacher will reach you at your own convenience for morning / afternoon classes. You can enjoy awakening your body with a dynamic 90-minute Vinyasa Flow class in the morning, while the afternoon class is generally gentler and can include pranayama and meditation.
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200, RYT 500 (Yoga)
Ameriga's classes are a blend of Ashtanga elements into a Vinyasa flow style practice, with emphasis on playfulness, breathe work, and compassionate adjustments. She will offer several variations for most poses, which is why the classes are suited for both beginner and more advanced levels. When she is not teaching, she travels the world to study yoga and follows her teachers, Shiva Rea, Lino Miele, and Simon Borg-Olivier.
This retreat will take place in Noto, Italy. Noto is the capital of Baroque in Sicily and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is perched on a plateau overlooking the Asinaro valley, covered by citrus, olive, and almond trees. If you love Baroque architecture, you are recommended to visit also the nearby cities like Ragusa, Modica, and Siracusa with its stunning Ortigia.
It is a fascinating journey to the discovery of these towns built with the typical honey-colored stone, illuminated by the rays of the sun during the day and by the warm artificial lights in the evening. This is the same stone which characterized Noto in Sicily, giving it a unique charm. It's also planned for you a wonderful itinerary to visit Ragusa, Modica, and Scicli, just to get captured by their endless beauty.
Only on request, it is possible to add another yoga lesson in the afternoon for 250 EUR.
