The guest rooms are in an old traditional stone house that has two beautiful terraces with views of the mountains and the valley. The house is located in a very small Italian village. You will be immersed in a kind of Italian lifestyle that you can only see in the quiet, non-touristy countryside. You will see neighbors walking by tending to their vineyards and olive groves or ambling through the fields with their sheep. Many of them work without any machinery and use traditional ways of farming.
At the guest house, there is a variety of accommodation options to satisfy all manner of tastes and requirements. For travelers on a tight budget, simple private rooms with shared outside bathrooms are available. For people that prefer to have a private bathroom, the newly restored en-suite rooms can be offered. There is a grocery store close to the house within five minutes walking distance, where you can buy most basic food supplies; this makes cooking very convenient.
You do not have to go to restaurants every day. You are welcome to hang out in the common room any time of the day and have unlimited access to Wi-Fi. The venue has two charming terraces with sun loungers to relax outside under the walnut tree and enjoy the mountain views. In addition, apartment units can be offered that consist of bedrooms, bathrooms, and fully equipped private kitchens.
The place is quiet and authentic and it will be ideal after you have been traveling through big touristy cities. It allows you to experience the beautiful Italian countryside and really relax in a safe community. Free Wi-Fi is available in the communal area of the guesthouse. Some rooms also have Wi-Fi. All the rooms are equipped with mosquito nets. There is a washing machine that you may use for 4 EUR including soap. No dryer so you will just hang your clothes on the line the Italian way.
"Il Castello" (the castle) was restored in 2013 and is slightly smaller than La Vigna. It is also provided with an en suite bathroom and a balcony and can host up to four people. The ceiling in this room is slightly lower than in the others, two-point-two meters.
In this room, the old plaster has been removed from the walls and uncovered the fabulous limestone walls that keep the room comfortably cool. Together with all the wooden elements, they give this room a special touch.
"La Vigna" (the vineyard) was restored in 2010; it is a spacious room that can host up to five people. In this room, many of the original elements were kept, such as the hand-carved shelf in the wall and the beautiful wall designs.
The bathroom window has a pretty view of the garden and the mountains behind. The doorway to the room is delightfully cloaked by the foliage of an old grapevine. Even in the hot summer months, the limestone walls keep the room comfortably cool. The room is two-point-eight meters high and 20 square meters big.
The private rooms with shared bathrooms are very quaint, yet spacious. Five people can comfortably fit in one room. They each have fantastic mountain views. The bathroom is just around the corner outside the room and is usually shared by two bedrooms; please note that the ceiling of the communal bathroom is very low, two meters.

There is a beautiful river that runs through the town and a historic center where you can wander around.
The retreat includes daily homemade organic dinner meals that are prepared using fresh local ingredients. Dinner is prepared by your host Anna, a passionate chef. Meat can be served on request. If you have a special diet, please let Italy Country Stay know and they will try to accommodate you. The staff at the guesthouse must be notified in advance of this choice. There is a little store where you can buy food next to the guest house.
Dinner includes two dishes which are usually pasta followed by seasonal vegetables, fresh salad, local handmade cheese, lentils, or beans and a lot of fresh local vegetables. Non-vegetarian meals are available on request. The meal is also accompanied by local bread. Homemade wine is served with the meals for an additional cost of 2.5 EUR per half a liter.
You will walk along the beautiful valley of San Piedro in the Abruzzo National Park with a local guide. On the hike, you will see the surrounding mountains, walk along a gorge, and visit a beautiful waterfall where you can swim in the refreshing water. The price is 16 EUR each time.

Every Thursday morning, there is a large outdoor market in Sora, which is a great way to get fresh local goods and experience local culture. For people interested in hiking, there is a shorter hike of about 45 minutes up to a castle ruin overlooking the town. It is not your typical touristy European-style castle, the entrance is free, and you get a 360-degree view of the entire valley while venturing on the old castle walls.
You will take a tour of a unique vineyard in the Valle di Comino of Atina, a small town, a short drive south of the farm. This vineyard produces the Cabernet Atina Doc wine and in the last ten years, it has gained its controlled origin denomination recognition, increasingly becoming more appreciated both in Italy and abroad. You will have the chance to visit this beautiful region, see how this special wine is made, and taste for yourself how delicious it is.

From Rome, the easiest way to get to the farm is by bus. The bus leaves frequently throughout the day, even on Sundays and holidays. To catch the bus, you must go to the Anagnina bus station in Rome by taking the metro line A. The bus to Sora leaves from platform 10 and the price of a ticket is around 6 EUR. The station in Sora is the last stop on the bus, so while you are on the bus, you can relax and not worry about missing your stop. The organizer will pick you up from Sora.
From Naples, there is a bus that takes you to Sora that leaves every day except Sundays and holidays from Piazza Garibaldi. Piazza Garibaldi is in front of the main train station in Naples. The name of the bus company is ARPA and the bus goes to Avezzano. Make sure to ask the driver to tell you when you get to the station in Sora. The ticket costs 9 EUR which can be paid on the bus. The bus leaves at 2:30 p.m. and the trip takes about two and a half hours. The organizer will pick you up from Sora.
From Rome, you need to catch the train at Rome Termini station for Roccasecca, then shift for Sora. Make sure to check the train schedule for Sora before you leave Rome so you do not get stuck in Roccasecca. If you plan to arrive in Sora in the late afternoon, it is recommended that you take the bus.
From Naples, you need to catch a train to Cassino or Roccasecca and then you can either catch a bus or a train to Sora, depending on the time. Be sure to check the train schedule in Naples so you do not get stuck in Cassino or Roccasecca.
From Pescara, you will need to catch a train to Avezzano. You may have to switch trains in Sulmona depending on the time schedule. From Avezzano, you can catch a train to Sora.
