CONS Je n'ai pas aimé: Very expensive. You have To pay everything extra especially the Taxi Guy. Not really friendly staff.

PROS J'ai aimé: Yoga Stunden. Unterkunft.

Réponse de l'organisateur: Thank you for your feedback that helps us to continuously improve our yoga farm, in doing so we strongly rely on comments. I am sorry you found our package expensive. I would like to bring to your attention that our packages are among the cheapest on bookyogaretreats.com. We specify clearly what our packages include and there are no hidden costs. We recently introduced an additional yoga class in the afternoon. Some of our guests love to do it and some are happy with only one. For this reason we do not find it fair to include it in the price. The additional yoga class is very cheap. such are many other activities that we offer, but find it best not to have them "included", this way our guests can individually pick whichever activities they find most interesting. You mentioned that you found the taxi expensive. We feel very lucky to be working with Mauro, our taxi guy. He speaks English, have very fair prices and he is very helpful with information and suggestions for our guests for no extra cost. Our guests normally greatly appreciate his support and agree that by European standards the fare he charges is below the average price range. Many guests enjoy the fact of being in the countryside and not necessarily having to rent a car, which ordinarily is indispensable in the countryside. Guests are happy to spend some money on the taxi, instead of getting an expensive rental car and dealing with the liability that comes with it. Antonello

    Rustic yoga retreat

CONS Je n'ai pas aimé: Accommodation and facilities were a bit rustic but good value for money. There are some easy things they could do to improve - some new towels would be good - mine was like a bit of sandpaper/ cardboard! The welcome was a bit haphazard, but okay. It could have been clearer on arrival what was included and how much things cost that weren't included, although that info was there is you asked or looked for it.

PROS J'ai aimé: Yoga instructors and yoga area were excellent! The food was lovely and the people really friendly.

Réponse de l'organisateur: Thank you very much for leaving your review. We offer different kind of accommodation, where camping in a tent in the garden is obviously more rustic than staying in one of the newly restored ensuite rooms. Unfortunately you did not mention your name in the review, so I cannot give you a personal reply. Anyway, Thank you for coming to the farm and sharing yoga, meals and much more with us! With Love from the farm

    Wonderful short yoga retreat

CONS Je n'ai pas aimé: The timing didn't work out well for some of the activities included in my package, not did the alternative options. Still, Antonello worked with me to provide a good experience despite these shortcomings.

PROS J'ai aimé: The agriturismo is located in an absolutely part of Lazio, and Maria's food was amazing! Also, Linda and her fellow yogis taught many different types of yoga, so the experience from day to day varied.

Serene & spiritual getaway in the heart of Italy <3

CONS Je n'ai pas aimé: The only thing I didn't like, was that our room was slightly damp & chilly at night. But this was mostly our fault for not bringing enough layers/warmer clothes! ;)

PROS J'ai aimé: First of all, the location is absolutely stunning (situated in the foothills of the Apennine Mountain)! Second, the staff & fellow travelers are exceptionally warm, accommodating, and make you feel like family! Communal meals and story telling make you feel right at home. The activities are also endless - yoga classes, hiking in the surrounding area, exploring the town of Sora, horse back riding, visiting the local cheese shepherd.... the list goes on!!!

    Relaxing retreat

CONS Je n'ai pas aimé: A lot of flies around the farm especially at dinner time. Breakfast was fairly basic. We had booked the yoga and meditation but one day we were not able to do the yoga as the walking meditation was on the same day. The rooms are too hot in august and no air con or fan is provided so it is hard to sleep.

PROS J'ai aimé: Maria was lovely and the evening food was great. Walking around the area was nice but very hilly! The walking meditation was a good experience. Lovely doing yoga on two of the mornings.

Réponse de l'organisateur: Dear Roseanna, We are happy you had a good time at the farm, despite the hot summer this year. I am sorry you didn't mention about the fan when you were here. We have many fans available for whoever needs them Thank you for leaving your review. Tranquility in Pescosolido

CONS Je n'ai pas aimé: From my side - I do not have any negative input.

PROS J'ai aimé: My time at Italy Farm Stay was fantastic. I'd love to come back here again! Antonello, Linda, Giuseppe and Maria provided a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere. I took the 'camping' option which had me in a very cool 'A' frame style tent with cot. If you're travelling on your own or with a friend - this is a fun option. If with a family - go for a room in the house as it's more convenient. I was here for the Yoga experience where I had Linda and Camila as yoga teachers. These ladies are experienced and very professional - taking time to explain and adjust you where necessary. I had the luck to spend an afternoon with papi Giuseppe where he took me to the orchards to pick fruit, wash my face with red wine (fantastic and funny), moisturise with olive oil and visit the family farm animals. If you have the chance, take the pasta class with mama Maria and the Reiki with a Linda. It made my time here unforgettable.

Réponse de l'organisateur: Dear Laura, thank you so much for your beautiful review. It was so much our pleasure to host you at the farm. Thank you for bringing your good energy! We hope to host you again one day! Take care, Enjoy! Linda

A lovely getaway in a beautiful setting.

CONS Je n'ai pas aimé: The only thing I didn't like was when I had to leave.

PROS J'ai aimé: Despite there being a large group of students staying on the farm when I arrived, the owners still made me feel so welcome and included me in all of the activities. Even though they were very busy, they always had time to answer my questions and make my stay very accommodating. My bedroom was just beautiful and the delicious homemade meals made it feel like a home away from home.

  • Avis de Teresa

"Would I recommend it? Most definitely yes especially if you like walking, being amongst animals, the countryside, enjoying good local food and staying with charming people who all work very, very hard to maintain this place is a success. It is a unique farm suitable for all age groups to experience on a budget in Italy. I traveled solo so the trip to this farm was slightly daunting for me at first, but it actually posed no problems at all and I got there easy peasy although it does take a little time. When I first arrived, I was obviously tired from traveling and felt slightly alone but by the evening soon learned that this is a very friendly warm home, whose owners truly want you to have a good holiday and enjoy yourself. The other tourists were all of all ages, mostly well traveled and from America, Canada, and Europe. My room was clean, comfortable and basic, exactly as shown in the photo’s and importantly for me, I slept very well. It was good to be woken every morning by Mr cockerel just to remind me I was on a farm instead of living in the center of London. There was a hairdryer kindly provided in my room. You can walk outside and pick pomegranates, apples, grapes and later on you’ll have grapefruits and figs too. The evening meals were exceptionally good, cooked by Maria, Antonio's Mother at the farm so it wasn’t necessary to venture further for me. All the produce and the fresh vegetables are picked that same morning. My particular favorite was the zucchini flowers fried in batter and the simple fruits like their little tomatoes and grapes which tasted so much better than London bought ones. Good, safe drinkable cold fresh water at two taps immediately outside the kitchens ( good for you to know when you arrive after a long journey) Take Mosquito repellent if mozzies like you to use especially after 5:00 p.m. The Internet is only in one small area of the offices. On route back to Rome don’t buy combined ticket for bus/metro because it only lasts 100 minutes and the journey is approximately two hours to Anagnina so time will have run out. Weather be prepared and check on Google before you travel. Soro is at the foot of Abruzzo Mountains so the weather is obviously very different from Rome. I traveled 17th September 2016 when some days it was very wet and chilly, especially at night and I was very glad of my woolen socks, pashmina, and rain mac."

"The farm was lovely and the yoga was excellent. I really enjoyed my time there, especially the dinners!"

"Two things that could be better are: breakfast (some days it was literally just bread and jam with coffee and hot water, some yogurt, eggs and fruit included would be nice), when you want a taxi off the farm 10 euros to go just 5 minutes down the road into Sora is too expensive."

"Overall, it was a fantastic trip and really enjoyed meeting the family and other guests, Antonello and his family really create a welcoming and nice enviroment, I would highly recommend it"

"My stay at the Italy Farm Stay was everything I could have dreamed of and much much more. The rooms were cozy with luxurious bathrooms and plenty of space. The meals were delicious, ranging from risotto to fresh pear pie. They provided the cutest handmade maps for hiking and exploring and a plethora of activities-ranging from a simple hike alone to a waterfall to truffle hunting with the group. There were people from all walks of life staying at the same time and it was absolutely amazing getting to hang out with all of them. But, most importantly, it was Antonello and Linda who made the trip so warm. Both have fabulous souls and I learned a lot about myself through them."

"The location of the farm is good for walking and for the town of Sora. However, a car is needed to get to the start of many hikes and to any neighboring towns or villages. This costs money which we certainly hadn’t accounted for. The owner will take you on some hikes or to activities or organize a cab for you. This is not cheap. The food is average. Breakfast is included in the price. I hoped it would be a lovely meal with fresh fruit, cheese etc. It is bread and jam. If you want eggs you have to pay for each one. The evening meal is available for extra. This has some nice vegetable dishes, the pasta is the pasta you can buy in Tesco, not tasty at all, an ok meal but nothing special. If you want meat it is extra."

"Yoga at Italy Farm Stay was exactly what I was looking for and everything I needed!"

"The place is as described on their website but what you can't describe is the peace and calmness the place and its surroundings give you. I had yoga practice with Linda and she was an excellent teacher. It was my first time practicing Hatha yoga (have only done Bikram). The focus of her teaching included balance and reconnecting with yourself and it was truly a wonderful experience to feel for someone like me who is always on the go. "

"I hope to find time in the future to come back here someday."

"I am so grateful that my path led me to Yoga Farm Italy and Linda's Reiki course. While looking online for a weeklong yoga experience, Linda's posting really spoke to me. I was drawn to the location, the environment, and the combination of yoga plus Reiki. I had never received a Reiki treatment and knew very little about it, but as someone interested in the healing arts, was curious to learn."

"Linda's warm and accepting nature was evident from our very first communication, and honestly that is a big part in why I decided to go to the farm. Upon meeting Linda in person and getting to know her over our weeklong stay, it is apparent that Reiki is a way of life for her. As a student of hers, this helped me understand that Reiki is something universal that can be woven into everyday life, as well as something that can be used with more specific intention for an individual being. In addition, her Hatha yoga classes feel deeply interconnected with Reiki, which was an incredible thing to experience. It"

"After completing Reiki Level 1, I felt a strong desire to continue on to Level 2. Before doing so, Linda explained what it would be like to continue right on to Level 2 and what to be mindful of in making the decision to do so. I appreciated the guidance, and with it felt prepared to move forward with Level 2 because it felt like the right decision for me."

"One very special thing I wanted to note here- Linda left me feeling as though I have a teacher for life. During our courses, Linda shared that she would always be there for us if we had any questions or wanted to share any experiences with her, and since leaving the farm I have certainly experienced that already. What a gift to receive :-)."

"For anyone who is interested in learning more about Reiki, or feels drawn to the healing arts, I would highly recommend traveling to Yoga Farm Italy to learn from and with Linda. I cannot imagine a better place or environment to become a Reiki practitioner."

"Thank you Linda, for a gift that will stay with me for my lifetime. I am so so grateful!"

"I very much enjoyed my stay and felt at home immediately. I found my room very nice and cool and the beds very good! The meals were really delicious, with plenty of healthy food. During the yoga classes, I learned new things and enjoyed the information that Linda gives along with the practice. The surroundings are very nice with beautiful nature, I enjoyed horse riding and a nice walk to the waterfall. I stayed only for four days but already didn't want to leave anymore. "

"Linda's yoga class was a pace for all levels and the practice was simple, but effective. I found what she said during each class to be extremely beneficial, and it was nice for me to see poses I might find easy challenging in a new way. She allowed each person to take the class how they saw fit, but she was also keenly aware on what to say that would most benefit the specific people in that moment. Each class had a mindset for the beginning, whether it be stillness or inner strength, and I found that very calming. I hope to take her class again very soon. I would recommend it to anyone no matter the level of yoga they are at. It was a learning experience for the body and the mind and I find that meditation vital for understanding my yoga practice in the future. "

"An amazing experience in the peaceful nature of Abruzzo National Park. Every morning, Linda took us through a wonderful Hatha yoga class, connecting mind, body, and spirit and leaving me feeling complete and relaxed. A perfect way to start the day full of beautiful hikes around the area. Very much recommended to those seeking to get in touch with nature and to reconnect to themselves"

"We wish we could have stayed longer at this wonderful place bordering Abruzzo National Park in central Italy. It's midway between Rome and Naples, about 45 minutes off the highway, but well worth getting off the beaten path. You don't even have to drive; they'll pick you up and drop you at the train station in Sora. This working organic agrotourism with olive and fruit trees and a wide variety of animals (including two friendly dogs) is just outside the larger town of Sora, as well as several small and scenic hill towns. While the location alone is fantastic, wonderful Antonello and his family really make this a memorable place to visit. The farm is a quiet world apart from the tourist sites and crowds. Sora has a great market day on Thursdays, when merchants and farmers line its downtown streets. But there's so much to do on and near the farm, including a hike on the farm or in the national park, horseback riding, language and pasta-making lessons from Maria, touring historic monasteries, frequent sampling of the farm's wine, produce, and olive oil, and a visit to the local cheese-making shepherd. The region is known for its truffle production and one evening we visited a local restaurant - virtually everything on the menu featured truffles, yet it was the great food bargain of the trip.We also greatly enjoyed our dinner and breakfasts at the family table, and again, almost everything was produced on the farm. Our kids, ages four and eight, absolutely loved it, but it's a great place for anyone to visit. There's surely enough to see and do to stay a week or more. It caters to English-speaking travelers and Antonello has spent time in the United States. What a wonderful place! We hope to visit again someday!"

"My week at Italy Farm Stay was one of the best times Ive ever had. Fresh from a big North American city, I was immediately mesmerized by the Italian country landscape as I set foot on Antonellos farm. Fruit trees of all varieties grow in wild abundance here: orange, lemon, cherry, plum, pear, apple, peach, persimmon, pomegranate, and of course fig. Sweet scents of jasmine invade your senses, while the sounds of distant church bells provide a perfect background to the symphony of horse bells, and the music of other farm animals.I had a wonderful breakfast drinking fresh goats milk, and a just-laid egg. Wild asparagus and baby artichoke fresh-picked by Guiseppe (Antonellos father) followed by a few mulberries and wild strawberries as I strolled through the farm. At other times, I would savor cheese just made by the shepherd, along with homemade bread from a neighbor and homemade wine. I took long walks everywhere, attracted by the beauty of the mountains dotted with country homes, patches of olive groves, vegetable gardens, grapevines, and wheat fields.Sheep and goats grazed on the meadow, and here and there elder ladies in country clothes with aprons around their waist meandered about. Italy Farm Stay is not just an organic farm. To me this is the traditional country life at its finest - a lifestyle that seems long-forgotten. Simple yet magical. I look forward to going back! I still remember vividly Guiseppe smiling, Slow down, dont worry. Tomorrows another day."

"I recommend this family-run establishment to anyone who is willing to take a detour from the well trodden tourist path to a wild nook of the Italian countryside. I felt very much at home during my four night stay due to the warm hospitality the family exudes. The accommodations are clean, spacious, and better yet affordable for the budget traveler. The farm offers land to be explored, where one can meander along the paths and stumble upon grapevines, and olive, walnut, cherry, plum, fig and, pomegranate trees. The farm is nestled in the mountainside, where many outdoor activities are close at hand. The farm's host, Antonello, is generous, giving of his time and transportation to be sure activities such as trail hiking, horse riding, paragliding, and a visit to the cheese-making shepherd are within the grasp of enjoyment. My favorite was the early morning cheese making. We watched as the shepherd milked the goats and sheep, while the wife built a fire for heating the milk. Trying to escape the bite of the morning air, we hovered close to the fire, sampling the freshly handmade cheese with bread and homemade olive oil, and the remaining delicious whey."

"I consider myself fairly well travelled and have stayed in many different levels of accommodations through the years, and I can honestly say that our six-day stay at this farm was one of my most memorable trips ever. In fact, in ranks in my top five (the others being trips to South Africa, Egypt, Alaska, and Madagascar). This is a very authentic experience, and while Antonello, his mother Maria, his father Giuseppe, and the volunteers make every effort to provide comfort, interesting activities, educational experiences and home-grown hospitality, it is a family home, not a resort. If you are looking to be pampered and catered to and treated like a tourist instead of a visitor, you might want to check out something a little more conventional. Our room was spacious and spotless and cool enough even though there was no AC. We had reliable hot water every day for our shower, the meals that Maria made each night were superb, the range of activities available to us was more than adequate; we thought we might get bored being there for six whole days, but found a perfect balance between time spent on activities and time spent leisurely enjoying the serenity at the farm. I slept soundly through each night, which is something that hasn't happened to me in years.Once back in Rome it was like a switch got flicked and I was back to the usual tossing and turning that I've become used to. Not sure what to attribute this to, but it really was amazing. We spent the hotter part of the afternoons lounging on the large patio, overlooking the fields filled with all the fresh vegetables and fruits that we snacked on each day and enjoyed for dinner each night. The highlight for me was probably the four and a half hour hike to a meadow on top of a mountain, where we cooked wonderfully fresh, flavorful food over a fire, and then slept under a full moon in our sleeping bags.Other activities included meeting my dinner (my sister went vegetarian once she realized that the animals on the farm weren't just for cute photo ops and petting, but I felt it was important to witness what was involved if I was going to eat it), a hike to a very old castle which we were able to crawl around in and on, horseback riding, sitting in the piazza in Sora drinking limoncello and watching the locals enjoy themselves, a trip to an abandoned village and a dip in the very cold but very clear and pretty waters of a nearby lake. We really enjoyed listening to Antonello's stories about things local and far away and both his mother and father were very generous and charming. Both my sister and I concluded that we would definitely like to come back to this farm again someday."

"My family enjoyed a wonderful three night stay at Italy Farm Stay, just outside the Abruzzi National Park. Antonello and his mother, Maria, welcomed us upon our arrival with delicious homemade wine and bread with homemade olive oil. After showing us our room, Antonello gave us a tour of the farm, including many fruit trees that he told us we could pick from anytime, and the animals: goats, sheep, a donkey, chickens and rabbits. Our kids were in heaven! During our stay, we enjoyed several beautiful hikes in the mountains, a delicious (and very cheap) meal cooked by Maria, and other delicious meals in the surrounding area. On our drives we discovered beautiful little hill towns that could rival the hill towns in Tuscany. (In fact they are better because there are no crowds!) This is a lovely undiscovered area of Italy. But the best thing about our trip was the warm hospitality of Antonello and his family. We stayed at many lovely places during a three week trip to Italy, but Antonello's farm was our favorite!"

"I arrived at this farm on Saturday, August 2nd and stayed through Monday morning, August 11th, and it was everything I had hoped and dreamed for, in experiencing a bit of Italian farm-life, the high-point being the family themselves, who have the most impeccable manners and the highest expression of heart-warming hospitality I have ever experienced. The food was fantastically, creatively, and artistically cooked each day, both lunch and dinner, but the beautiful faces of kindness and generosity were my fondest feast of all. I will return as often as life lets me and stay in touch with the family always. I am truly blessed to have it all hidden in my heart."
