They say the farther you go in the sea, the calmer it gets. After having your basics strengthened in the level 1 of the Hatha yoga teacher training course, you are now ready to push your boundaries as you step into the advanced Hatha yoga teacher training course.
You applying for the advance level teacher training course in Hatha yoga should have completed level one yoga teacher training course at IndeaYoga under Yogacharya Bharath Shetty.
The advanced course has been specially designed to give you the opportunity for personal development and to intensively deepen your own practice.
You will attend two strong asana practice sessions per day. Morning asanas cover the Indea Foundation or Indea Preparatory series. Afternoon practices will primarily incorporate Indea Innovation series such as back bending, hip opening, and balancing asanas (including Adhomukha Vrikshasana and Pincha Mayurasana). Teachers are also engaged in understanding the key points in teaching certain asanas to students.
You must learn the IndeaYoga opening and closing prayer that is chanted before and after every session.
A selection of pranayama techniques will be taught and practiced during the course.
There will regularly be short sessions of meditation (around 15-30 minutes per session).
This session covers a number of conditions and diseases and how to treat these with yoga.
You are required to prepare a mini presentation / thesis / dossier on a disease / ailment / condition (not necessarily covered in the first two weeks anatomy classes). You are required to submit this for review and then present to the class you choose and how to treat it with yoga.
This training will cover Jalandara Bandha, Uddiyana Bandha, Moola Bandha, and Maha Bandha.
This training will cover Yoni mudra, bhairava mudra, hridaya mudra, shambavi mudra, nasikagradristi, shanmukhi mudra, etc.
Patanjali Yoga Sutra (Raja yoga), Vibhuti Pada (chapter 3), Kaivalya Pada (chapter 4), Karma yoga sloka sangrahah (Bhagavad Gita), Atma (Nirvana) Shataka. The following subjects will be covered too: chakras and Ayurveda principles.
The course days in a week is from Monday to Saturday. You will get two sessions for Hatha yoga (Mysore style) classes and one evening session for therapeutic program or illness to wellness program. The session time is 07:30 to 09:15 for the morning session and 16:00 to 17:15 for the evening session.
Notes: The classes will be conducted from Monday to Saturday for four weeks. The schedule may change and please do not have other engagements during the course. You are required to dedicate two to three hours of self-study every day.
This retreat will take place in Mysore, India.
The food provided is Indian and only vegetarian and filtered mineral water. The food menu is standardized and you will be provided with three meals every day. The food served is mainly healthy and nutritional, keeping in mind the requirements of your practice. All meals will be served in the dining hall only and you will not be allowed to eat in the rooms. Fruits and other snacks will be available on the premises which can be bought.
