Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Bahias de Huatulco International Airport (HUX) or Puerto Escondido International Airport (PXM).

From Bahias de Huatulco International Airport (HUX), you can take a taxi from inside the airport directly to the place but this is the most expensive option and will probably be around 800 MXN.

In another way, you can exit the airport and walk for 200 meters to the road outside the airport. From here, you can take a private taxi (with good bargaining maybe around 400 MXN) directly to the retreat center or to Pochutla and transfer to public transportation in Pochutla.

Another option is to exit the airport and find a shared taxi to Pochutla which should cost around 35 MXN and from there, take a taxi or colectivo to Mazunte / San Agustinillo (10 MXN).

From Puerto Escondido International Airport (PXM), you can walk out of the airport to the road, cross the street, and take a private taxi directly to Mazunte (about 400 MXN) or take a colectivo (trucks with blue tarp roofing over back for 10 MXN or less) into the center of Puerto Escondido.

After you reach Puerto Escondido, you can catch a bus (in the direction of Pochutla or Huatulco) from near the SuperChe supermarket (40 MXN). Ask the driver to drop you off at Las Cruces de San Antonio (it’s the crossroads where the OXXO convenience store is located). From here, you can take a taxi or colectivo for 5 MXN into Mazunte or San Agustinillo. A more expensive bus also leaves from the bus station.

When you arrive in Mazunte, walk along the main street with the ocean on your right. You will pass the Turtle Center, and soon after, the road will begin to climb. Hridaya Yoga is located at the peak of the hill. If you start going downhill again, you have gone too far.

Arrival by bus

From Mexico City, you have to go to one of these two bus stations, Terminal Central del Sur or TAPO, and look for the bus company 'ADO'. There, you ask for a ticket to go to Pochutla, Oaxaca (pronunciation would be Wahaka). The cost is around 750 MXN, usually depart at 7.30 p.m and take around 16 hours to get to Pochutla.

From Oaxaca City, there are two options for taking a bus to Pochutla, either the 1st class tourist bus that takes a longer (eight to nine hours) but less winding route or a regular minibus that is faster (six hours) but takes very curvy mountain roads (Dramamine recommended for those who suffer from motion sickness).

To take the 1st class bus, go to the ADO station in Oaxaca to buy a ticket. There are several departures each day, including one overnight bus. There are several mini-bus companies which also has several departures per day.

You can search for one online or ask someone at your guesthouse in Oaxaca for a recommendation, etc. Their departure times will vary seasonally so call ahead and check the schedule. One company is Auto Expres de Turismo y Pasaje Atlantida.

From Pochutla, you have to take a cab or a colectivo bus (the ones to Mazunte / San Agustinillo leave from calle Jamaica) to get here. Tell the driver to drop in “El Neem” or “el centro de yoga entre Mazunte y San Agustinillo'.

When you arrive in Mazunte, walk along the main street with the ocean on your right. You will pass the Turtle Center, and soon after, the road will begin to climb. Hridaya Yoga is located at the peak of the hill. If you start going downhill again, you have gone too far.
