Guests will be staying in the historical apartments in the heart of the retreat venue, a 1000-year-old Medieval hamlet nested on the green hill of Tuscany's largest national park, Monte Rufoli.
Surrounded by wild woods, olive groves and vineyards, you will be in the perfect setting for journeying deeply within yourself.
Apartments vary in size, from 1 to 4 bedroom apartments, with single and twin rooms. Each apartment is decorated in its unique style, creating a sense of home away from home. Private 1-bedroom apartments are also available for those requiring greater privacy.
Between the months of May and September, guests will have access to the infinity pool overlooking the national park and have full access to the many resting areas around the hamlet, to enjoy quiet time and spectacular views.
Yogis understand the Chakras to be energy centers responsible for storing our life impressions, making up the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual fabric of our very being. Unresolved energies in the chakras can lead to all kinds of difficulties from physical illnesses to destructive self-sabotaging patterns of behavior, particularly in our relational life…
Dreams are a gateway to a magical universe that, although might not always see, has its own life that is right there just beneath the threshold of awareness. There is a great potential in our dreams for unfolding our destiny and bringing us face to face with our karmic life themes.
Life strives to show us time and time again that the Altar of the Heart is more than a mere sentiment, but a living and beating truth. Yet the Mind’s labyrinth of thoughts & doubts can be so deeply encoded in our being as to keep us out of Love’s reach. The yogic spirit is that of the romantic soul who never lets the Altar of the Heart leave his or her sight…
Breaking free from conventions does not entail becoming a rebel, but it does require confronting the power dynamics that might have been keeping us in a state of subordination in our life, including our social and intimate relationships.
Bringing into question the archetypal figure of the Father – ruler and patriarch – becomes a prerequisite to venture on a journey of self-discovery towards a more authentic self…
Through engaging in powerful yogic practices of The Goddess Kundalini-Shakti we shall connect to our creative center and watch the spiraling effect of power dancing our life into being. The powerful practices of the Shamanic Hatha line within the context of a healing group process will bring about the stirring of the primal and raw life force – known to the yogis as Kundalini-Shakti…
The witch has perhaps become a derogatory & disputed term for the forces that stand on the outskirts of the rational. Yet she is a mother of the hearth, a mistress of story-telling and the beholder of healing secrets. The process of divorcing the divine father from the earthly mother has resulted in the feminine aspect of our personality being suppressed, both in women & men, leading to all kind of imbalances, inward & outward, individual & collective. The feminine night-forces that bring chaos and creativity together are the energies we will work with on this retreat.
The beast is a creature of power and beauty, but a caged beast can either rebel and manifest in destructive patterns of rage and frustration, putting up a fight on life. Conversely, it might lie down in apathy, giving up on life altogether. The resultant suffering that ensues from either way is not how it has to be! Together we will embark on a journey to reconnect to the often forgotten and secret powers of the animals that live within us.
In these full-immersion retreats you will practice a form of Yoga that is rarely available and accessible even in India today. You will take part in a sacred Yogic tradition that roots itself in India’s native shamanic wisdom & Tantric lineage handed down orally between generations of Yogis, Babas, Sadhus and Fakirs.
You will be exposed to the old tantric ways of seeking profound healing and spiritual awakening, including practicing in darkly-lit spaces to quieten the mind and awaken the senses to the body’s subtle energy currents, holding simple postures for long periods of time, and engaging in powerful breath-work to open-up the body and take the mind into altered states of consciousness.
Sessions may last several hours, depending on the group’s energy, and include drumming and chanting to aid the healing process.
The practice draws on postures seldom used in modern styles of yoga, namely Chandra Parampara, an ancient sequence of Moon postures that honours the mother and the divine feminine, gently opening-up the body to its highest levels of flexibility through minimal effort.
The practice will be supported by observing a yogic diet and much silence in order to sustain the body and expand the mind.
Unique to this tradition is its simultaneous employment of Asanas (postures), aerobic and anaerobic Pranayama (breath work), Mudras (gestures), and Mantras (sacred sounds). The synergy created by the employment of these various yogic tools will lead you into altered states of consciousness and dream-like experiences aimed at facilitating a greater openness to inward journeying and an easier access to your subconscious.
Integral to this experience will be the exploration of sound-currents present in the body (Nada Yoga) – perhaps one of Yoga’s greatest secrets and one of the most powerful vehicles through which the karmic patterns stored in the chakras can be accessed and released in pursuit of profound healing.
Because we are going to play with shamanic yogic traditions, the practice will take place outside of clearly time constraints. In line with this approach, there will be no predefined time schedule in order to allow the energy of the group to flow freely, and for the teacher to guide the practice in accordance with the group’s energy and needs. Classes, ceremonies, exercises, chanting, eating and even sleeping will happen naturally and not according to a fixed time.
As part of the practice, and as a way to ground oneself in the practice, participants will be asked to spend some time every day helping with the preparations of meals and with the cleaning of the yoga shala.
The retreat is suitable both for beginners and advanced practitioners, and in particular to all those seeking a deeply healing experience on an emotional and physical level. Although the practice does not involve strenuous physical exercise, some physical flexibility will be necessary in order to participate fully in the retreat. Because places are typically limited to a maximum of 12 participants, priority will be given to those with a serious intention and commitment to leaving their comfort zone and seeking genuine change. Yoga teachers, body workers and shamanic practitioners will benefit greatly from the retreat as they will learn rare tantric healing techniques. The retreat is not suitable for people with serious forms of psychosis.

Inspired by local Tuscan dishes, all meals will be vegan and sourced as locally as possible & from nearby organic farms. You will savor Sattvic (‘pure’) dishes to sustain correctly the yoga practice.
Meals are prepared as a collective effort by the group. As well as keeping the group's energy tight, the collective cooking enables to knit closer ties between the various members of the group, and also offer the opportunity to learn preparing delicious vegan yogic dishes.
We recommend staying an additional night and visit the gorgeous Spa of Sassetta (half an hour by car from the retreat venue) for a truly relaxing and restorative experience following the retreat.
International guests can easily reach Querceto by flying into Pisa International Airport (PSA). Alternatively, nearby airports include Florence, Bologna and Rome.
Both Ryanair and Easyjet fly into Pisa, Bologna or Rome. From any of these airports, it is possible to take trains to Cecina - the closest train station to the retreat venue.
We can organize pick-ups from Cecina station with local drivers or taxis.
If you prefer renting your own car (to sightsee during spare time), we can recommend a number of car rental companies (low as 8 EUR per day).
