Hébergement

On this yoga retreat, you will be accommodated for two nights in a basic but cozy and clean bunkhouse. You will stay in a shared dorm at Ragmans Farm bunkhouse. There are other accommodation options available upon request but at an additional cost.

Programme

This retreat is suitable for guests wishing to come on their own, for friends planning a meetup and looking for something different to do, or for a special mother/daughter or couple weekend away.

The weekend's yoga is most suited to beginners and intermediates. More advanced yoga retreats are also available upon request. The mornings' yoga on this retreat tends to be more dynamic, with a more restorative session in the evenings. During your stay, you will have twice daily yoga classes and you can spend the evening sitting around a warm fire having stimulating conversations with your fellow yogis or having a dip in the natural wood-fired hot tub.

Sound healing bath

Yoga Nidra known as yogic sleep, it is a meditation and conscious relaxation practice that is intended to induce total physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. In this session of Yoga Nidra, we will go through the Chakras to balance them.

What you can also expect from this retreat:

Professeurs

Hayley Court
Hayley is based locally to the retreat and regularly practices yoga. Her joint passions are yoga and travel, so she is combining both on her retreats with the added joy of sharing the benefits with all who visit.
Ildiko Bakos
Ildiko's training and teaching experiences allow her to combine traditional Kundalini and Hatha yoga styles with a contemporary western approach to help guide others to find their own love for and benefits from yoga. Her teaching is spontaneous and light-hearted, and she aims to adapt to meet the energies and needs of the group.

Lieu du séjour

This retreat will be based at Ragmans Farm, Lydbrook in England. It is a stunning 60-acre organic farm set in the Forest of Dean which is an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Repas

All food across the weekend is nutritious, wholesome, vegetarian, and home-cooked. Forest Retreats UK's food always scores a 10, and it is prepared by Tom who is a trained cook with 20 years experience. All dietary requirements are catered for, including vegan, gluten-free and nut-free, and Forest Retreats UK will make sure you are happy with the menu across the weekend.

You will generally start the day with home-made muesli, with a large brunch following the first yoga practice of the day. There will be water, herbal teas, and snacks (usually fruit, nuts, and flapjacks) available throughout the day and then there will also be a large evening meal and dessert.

  • Come over the old Severn bridge (M48)
  • Take the Chepstow turn off
  • Go into Chepstow over the bridge on the A48
  • Turn left onto the B4228 signposted to Coleford and the Forest of Dean
  • Follow the signs to Cinderford out of Coleford
  • Join the A4136
  • Take a left turning to Lydbrook
  • Drive through Lydbrook until you reach the River Wye
  • Turn right
  • After half a mile, take a sharp right-hand turn to Ruardean
  • Forest Retreats UK is the first right up this road

DRIVING DIRECTION FROM GLOUCESTER AND M40

  • Take the A40 from Glos as far as Huntley
  • Turn left onto A4136
  • Follow this until you reach Nailbridge (after Mitcheldean)
  • Turn right to Ruardean
  • Go through Ruardean
  • Come down the hill towards the River Wye
  • Go past Little Marstow Farm (left) and Great Marstow Farm (right)
  • Forest Retreats UK is the next left after that

DRIVING DIRECTION FROM THE M5

  • Come down the M5
  • Turn onto the M50 and go to Junction 4
  • Take the ring road (A40) around the top of Ross
  • Turn left to Goodrich after 3 miles
  • Drive past the post office and school
  • Turn left at the T-Junction under the stone bridge
  • Go over Kerne bridge crossing the River Wye
  • Turn right at T-junction at Kerne Bridge onto the B4234 (signed to Lydbrook)
  • Pass a garage on your right
  • The second left fork after the garage is signposted to Ruardean
  • Forest Retreats UK is the first right on this road
