You will be staying for three nights at the Churchtown House. This beautiful house has six bedrooms, all with spacious luxury bathrooms. Churchtown House is full of history, built in 1740 by Sir Roland Blennerhassett and has been in the Magill family since 1860.

Hidden away in the rolling hills of Kerry, this most wonderful location offers you the magnificent views from each window which will leave you feeling in awe of nature. The house is full of spaces to relax, unwind, and read a book by the fire.

It is detox season again, but what works and what does not? An Ayurvedic cleanse is focused on drawing toxins and excess out of the body for an improved sense of balance and overall health.

This detox retreat is designed to explore what suits your body and to give it the kick-start it needs. With good, healthy food, vigorous exercise, yoga, and acupuncture, this program aims to increase your metabolism after the sleepy winter. A 30-minute Ayurvedic massage is also included in the program.

This three-day health retreat, blending the traditions of Ayurveda and Chinese medicine, aims to clear the cobwebs, and put your mind and body in a healthy, active, and positive space. The Escapada experience is fully inclusive combining yoga, fitness, diet, nutrition, integrative therapies, and relaxation.

In keeping with Escapada retreat's philosophy, these retreats aim to equip you with the knowledge and skills to further develop better lifestyle choices when you go back to your daily life.

  • Maeve O'Sullivan

    Maeve has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science degree in Acupuncture. She subsequently transferred these skills to set up an acupuncture clinic in Dublin. Maeve has the ability to integrate and synergize traditional Chinese and Western medical approaches to achieve the optimal treatment for the individual. This is enabled by her high experience in both nursing and acupuncture.

  • Ingrid Reygers

    Ingrid practices and passionately teaches holistic lifestyle, yoga, and Ayurvedic cooking to people from all around the world. She has completed her master of yoga and is a certified Ayurveda therapist. While spending time in Indian ashrams and sailing around the world with her family, she gained a vast knowledge of holistic healing systems and treatment skills. Her main focus is to help people live a more conscious life through daily routines, integrating yoga, massage, and preparing healthy and tasty meals that further enhance one's well-being.

  • Emilia Herting

    Emilia achieved a Master of Science degree with honors in acupuncture and herbal medicine in London where she successfully ran her own clinic for several years before returning to Germany. She is known for her personal approach, warm nature, and positive results. Having learned from the best in the field, Emilia practices Dr. Tan's acupuncture for fast pain relief, a revolutionary treatment for pain and illness that gets quick results.

This retreat will be held at Churchtown House. It is located in the rolling hills of beautiful Kerry. This stunning and intimate location has a world of comfort, luxury, and peace to offer. Sitting within Beaufort Golf Course and with five internationally renowned golf courses within an hour's drive, Churchtown House is a golfer's paradise.

You will be served daily delicious seasonal Ayurvedic cuisine for breakfast and dinner. You will also have an access to Ayurvedic tea and juice bar on site.

Golfing

With the towns of Killarney, Killorglin, Kenmare, Dingle and Tralee all within easy reach and beautiful beaches just around the corner, there is always something exciting to do. Churchtown House is a golfers' paradise. It sits within Beaufort Golf Course and five internationally renowned golf courses can be found within an hour's drive.

Fishing

The Killarney Lakes are three in number, Lough Leane, Middle Lake, and Upper Lake. It is excellent for salmon and brown trout. Trolling for salmon with either spoons or minnows is the most popular method used. Fly fishing for trout with wet flies is very effective but spinners can also be used.

You will also find some wonderful wild brown trout fishing in the Gap of Dunloe and Black Valley region. This area is full of small lakes and streams. Especially for the dedicated fly angler, you will have great fun with small brownies. The Lakes of Killarney are famous for their beauty: a truly magical place with a mild climate.

Walking

Whether you wish to trek to the top of Ireland's highest mountain range, explore Killarney's ancient woodland glens and valleys, or just stroll around its beautiful lakeshore walks, Churchtown House is the most perfect place to experience the great outdoors. It is only a few minutes’ drive from all the great outdoor experiences the region has to offer.

Cycling

There are many different scenic areas to cycle from very short two-hour cycle to a full-day exploring experience. From cycling through the Gap of Dunloe with breath-taking scenery, many miles of cycle ways around the Lakes of Killarney and The National Park. Bike hire including electric cycles and guided tours can be provided.

Equestrian

Located about a mile west of Killarney Town and known locally as "O'Sullivan's", Killarney Riding Stables were established in 1968 by Donie O'Sullivan and is still very much a family business with Donies wife Noreen, their two daughters Lorraine and Aoife, and son William all involved.

Approved by the Irish Tourist Board and the Association of Irish Riding Establishments, the stables are home to some 70 horses who have been pampered even more than usual with the recent completion of new stabling constructed to the very Killarney Riding Stables. Being adjacent to Killlarney national Park, the casual customer can enjoy daily rides, one, two, or three-hour rides.

Hunting and shooting

The Kerry region is one of the most beautiful places in Ireland for hunting woodcock, snipe, and sika deer. The Woodcock hunting season starts in late October and continues until the end of January. Sika Deer were introduced to Ireland by wealthy landowners. They escaped from the parks and invaded the land. The season runs from the start of September to late February.

Driving directions from Killarney

  • Take the N72 west from Killarney (R562 on older maps) towards Killorglin.
  • Continue for eight kilometers (five miles) out of Killarney, and you will see a petrol station on your right and a stone bridge on your left. Cross the bridge and follow the road.
  • After appoximately 600 meters, take the first right (opposite the Beaufort Bar) and continue for just over 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles) and you will see the white gates of Beaufort Golf Club on your left.
