Caribe Yoga Academy's students will be housed in the shared housing in one of the jungle cottages of Cashew Hill Jungle Lodge. Students will enjoy beautiful ocean and jungle views, outdoor space, on-site gardens and swimming pool, and the convenience of being tucked away in the jungle paradise while being only five minutes from Puerto Viejo center.
Plunge deeper into the basics of Ayurvedic science, and more specifically, how to apply these concepts to asana practice and in becoming a more effective guide and teacher on the mat.
This training is one module of the advanced level certification through the Caribe Yoga Academy. This is a 65-hour module of the advanced level certification through the Caribe Yoga Academy. The student must complete two other elective modules and the required module to finish their advanced level training.
To complete the Yoga Alliance 300-hour certificate, students must accumulate 300 hours through Yoga Alliance CEU designated workshops and modules. You have five years to complete the program.
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 (Yoga)
Avani Gilbert is the founder and director of CYA programs. She is an E-RYT 500 / YACEP / Reiki Master Teacher, LMT & Clarity Breathwork Practitioner. Avani started exploring yoga as a teenager to counter participation in high school competitive sports. From there, she began a lifelong love, journey, and an endless study. She has participated in yoga teacher training throughout the United States and Costa Rica while accumulating close to 4.000 hours of teaching experience. Avani is the director of the retreat and training center OM at Cashew Hill.
Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (Yoga)
Adriana’s passion for spirituality and body movement started at a young age. At the age of 18, she received her first certification for yoga and massage. The process has not slowed down or stopped since. Adriana is now a 500-hour certified yoga teacher, Yogakids facilitator, and co-founder of the ASOyoga (Costa Rican Yoga Association). She has studied a variety of yogic styles as well as philosophy and Bhakti under Dr. Mark Dycscowksi in India and earned her degree in Physiotherapy.
Flora is a yoga teacher and Ayurvedic therapist, specializing in lifestyle and nutrition. From Geneva to Kerala through Amsterdam, Italy, France, the U.K., and West Africa, fluent in five languages, Flora is a true world citizen. Since the age of 12, she has been blessed with growing up in a yoga conscious environment. Likewise, her education in Ayurveda has been blessed with an array of internationally known teachers such as Dr. Vasant Lad, Dr. Frawley, Vaidya Robert Svoboda, Dr. Claudia Welch, Vaidya Atreya Smith, Donald Vanhowten, and other renowned doctors from India.
E-RYT 200 / YACEP Ryan first came to yoga to deepen his practice and understanding of the spiritual and philosophical. He is a graduate of the Wilmington Yoga Center 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. Ryan earned his degree in biomechanics and kinesiology from The University of Richmond. Ryan was a member of both the football and track teams. Following his collegiate career in football, Ryan went on to play for the Carolina Panthers. Yoga was an integral part of supporting his athletic career.
YTT Assistant & Empowerment Coach Extraordinaire RYT 200 / Retreat Director / Life Coach Nicole began her personal relationship with yoga in 2004 as more of a fitness routine thwanderfreelyan a way to deepen her understanding of herself and my relationship with others. As the years went on her practice was “off-and-on,” as is often the case for many students, however, Nicole noticed that in the most difficult times of life yoga was the one thing she returned to again and again. After nearly 10 years of working in the very competitive art world of New York City.
YTT Assistant & Resident Peace Sustainer RYT 200 / Communications Expert / Meditation Queen A California native, Tiffany began her yoga journey while living in bustling New York City and now travels the world sharing her love of yoga. She has taught in Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and now in Costa Rica. Tiffany received her Yoga Alliance RYT 200 certification in Rishikesh, India at Shiva Yoga Peeth under the guidance of Swami Sudhir Pradham. Her background includes acting, muay thai, acro yoga, aerial yoga, and vinyasa yoga. Tiffany is also a Vipassana meditator.

This green and breathtaking sanctuary sits directly above the main town where visitors can forge a deep connection with nature in a magical and safe setting.

You will be served three vegetarian meals per day, sourced mainly from the on-site gardens, and made with love.
Please book your flight to arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request. You may take a shuttle, public bus, or private taxi from San Jose to Cashew Hill.
The local bus is called the MEPE. It costs about 11 USD. You will have to take a taxi to the bus station that will cost you 20 USD.
Shared shuttle service will cost you about 59 USD per person. It is an air-conditioned van that holds up to six people. It will pick you up across from the airport or at your hotel and deliver you to Cashew Hill. It only has two pick up times (7:20 a.m. or 2:30 p.m.).
A private shuttle can hold up to eight people and costs 230 USD for one to six people. Depending on your party size and what you want for privacy, this can be a great option. There is also a very cost-effective way to use the private shuttle for two people or to just have a blast on your way to Puerto Viejo.
If you plan on a tour for rafting, kayaking, hiking, etc, there is a package that includes an airport or hotel pick up before the activity and then will deliver you to Puerta Viejo after the activity. They store your luggage and feed you as well. These packages start at 99 USD per person. You get a great trip and transportation for a fraction of the cost.
