During this retreat, you will stay either in a private or a shared room at the Amansala Resort. The resort offers double and triple rooms with queen or king size beds. The village like setting consists of two properties, Grande and Chica, both with Amansala’s signature eco chic style, within a couple minutes of each other. The resort consists of 24 beautiful cabanas set in a village-like setting along with a beachfront restaurant and lounging terrace, yoga shalas, and massage rooms. A tranquil setting that embodies community yet space to relax on one’s own terrace or on the beautiful sunset lounge where the jungle stretches for as far as the eyes can see. Perfect for star gazing, sun rises, sunsets, or soaking up some sun.

Each day begins with a stretch on the beach followed by a one-hour power walk, followed by morning yoga. There is also a daily afternoon yoga session included.

This retreat will take place at the Amansala Eco Chic Resort in Tulum, Mexico. The resort is located approximately two hours south of Cancun in Quintana Roo state. Famous for the spectacular Mayan ruins, clear turquoise water, and white sandy beaches, it is a relatively undiscovered eco-friendly paradise.
Sunbathers and swimmers indulging in a visit to Tulum beaches, limestone sands, and crystal blue waters need only look up in wonder at the ancient Mayan ruins, dotting the cliffs above them to grasp the aura of ancient mystery that surrounds the beach.
The resort is located on the Riviera Maya between the pristine blue ocean and the emerald green tropical forests and jungles, is nature in all of its splendor. The Riviera Maya offers endless possibilities to choose from such as tranquil sea coves and bays to rougher more open ocean, transparent lagoons and mysterious water springs with landmarks and vestiges of a culture thousands of years old, or the world´s second longest reef which stretches from Quintana Roo to Honduras. Also there are a variety of beach and water sports to choose from, with places offering all the infrastructure and services you need.
Getting to town is a short 10 minute drive or about 20 minutes by bike. It is an idea hotel to use as a base to explore the Mayan ruins of Tulum which are a short ride away or to explore the freshwater swimming natural holes.
During this retreat, you will enjoy three daily healthy meals except for one dinner which will be open so you can experience local restaurants. The Amasala resort restaurant is also available with lots of fresh fruits and veggies, fresh local fish, and chicken. Their meal plan avoids preservatives and processed foods. The kitchen is open all day and can prepare you a healthy snack whenever necessary. They can also accommodate vegetarian requests.
Enjoy a beautiful jungle walk before reaching the incredible ruins of Coba. The archaeological site of Coba, surrounded by five lakes, is still largely hidden in the sub tropical vegetation. It contains about 6,500 structures spread over nearly 70 kilometers. This is the most important site of the Yucatan Peninsula that can only be compared with Chichen Itza his eternal rival. Archaeologists believe that Cobá had a population of 50, 000 inhabitants at its peak.
Take a flat ride along the beach to the ruins followed by a guided tour. When you get back to camp, you’ll definitely be ready to jump in the refreshing ocean. Unlike other cities, the pyramids of Tulum are small and most monuments had ceremonial functions. Tulum is the third most visited archaeological site of Mexico and a must see due to its extremely beautiful setting on a bluff overlooking the Caribbean Sea and located just a short bike ride from the resort.
The Temazcal is a two hour deep meditation experience which includes entering into a stone igloo sweat lodge where you will sweat out toxins to the sound of chanting and the fragrance of herbs. You can enjoy this powerful experience for an additional cost of approximately 100 USD.
Tulum’s Grand Cenote is a large beautiful garden natural swimming pool with gentle white sand beach type areas along with easily accessible caves for snorkeling and diving. You can swim around the edges of the cenote, viewing depths up to 10 meters. Views include columns of stalactites and stalagmites of all shapes and sizes which resemble cities of skyscrapers. Large balls of roots and vines seem to grow out of the underwater ceiling, connected to the large jungle trees above. Schools of fish tend to follow, eating up the plant debri which swim fins and paddling feet tend to stir up.Little green turtles paddle around near the garden's edge.
This incredible opportunity includes a five hour journey through the historically rich Muyil ruins, a ceremonial meditation on site, a boat ride through enchanting natural lagoons, and a relaxing float down the freshwater canal of Sian Kaan Natural Reserve. The tour has an additional cost of approximately 120 USD.
During this retreat, you will enjoy two massages and a Mayan clay treatment. There is a full spa menu available at resort and a copy will be provided upon arrival. Days and general hours for massages will be incorporated into the week’s itinerary. The therapists at Amansala are truly excellent so all are highly encouraged to include some serious pampering into the retreat experience.
