In this program, Bienestar Uvita Yoga Shala will offer you opportunities to make discoveries through self-inquiry and experimentation in connecting to mind, body, and spirit. This yoga teacher training requires your attention, focus, practice, inquiry, and objectivity. You will teach each other, as well as have the opportunity to teach a public class at Bienestar. So step away from the world, take time for yourself, and blossom into your own true nature.

The River House is nestled in a very private tropical garden located only five minutes away from downtown Uvita, the national park, and beach of Ballena as well as Playa Hermosa. The houses sit right next to the Higueron River, which allows for perfect wildlife watching right from the leisure of the deck.

Each house offers three bedrooms and each house features a 35-square meters pool with a big outside recreational area to relax or just enjoy nature. Maid service as provide twice a week. A guard lives nearby on premises to ensure your 24 hour security.

The yoga classes will be held along side the pool in the palapa. You can pick your breakfast from the own exotic fruit featuring banana, mango, lemon, orange, avocado, and guava trees. Whether you like watching toucans, parrots or monkeys straight from the comfort of the hammock.

At dry season, you can also hike up the river or down to the ocean.

Programme

Everyday, you will have asana practice and meditation for two hours, a breakfast break, and then another two hour class before breaking over lunch. After that, you will have a long afternoon session. The studio is fully equipped, no need to bring any yoga gear with you. You will be breaking each day before sunset, so that you can take a swim, and enjoy the beauty of the Uvita sunsets. A couple of nights a week, you will have a reading assignment, or a practicum to work on. Sundays are free days to rest, play, or explore.

Professeurs

Lura Shopteau
Founder Lura Shopteau has been registered as an ERYT500 since 2004 and is the only certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) living in Costa Rica at this time. Lura's dedication​ ​to yoga and wellbeing have been the focus of her path for the last 17 years studying with teachers in the U.S., Costa Rica and India. She has deep experience in patient work teaching Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (meditation), working as a counselor and yoga therapist with chronically ill and terminally ill clients. After 12 years of working in Integrative Medicine, she returned to live in Costa Rica full time.

Uvita is a small village on the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. It is the center of a unique area called Costa Ballena and the home of Marina Ballena National Park. Bienestar is located on a hilltop looking at the sea with the sweet smells of tropical flowers in bloom, enjoy the gentle and constant breeze, while we practice yoga and meditation, mindfulness and serenity, and at times, crazy joy and a lot of laughter.

On each class day, you will be served with a local organic whole foods breakfast including yogurt, granola, and a selection of fruit each morning. Feel free to make a smoothy or juice. Lunch is a large fresh locally grown organic salad to eat there or to take out. Vegetarian or Vegan. A selection of tea's and herbal waters, pipa's (coconut water) are available all day. Bienestar Uvita Yoga Shala is always prepared to accommodate any food sensitivities, allergies, or dietary needs
