Upon completion of this yoga teacher training, students will receive certificate affiliated with Yoga Alliance. Registration with Yoga Alliance provides a globally recognized credential.

This yoga teacher training in India program is offered by five highly experienced, talented, and compassionate instructors. All of their teachings are only on their specialty and expertise in their chosen disciplines. Together, all of the teachers have over 70 years of combined teaching experience.

You will have the training in the beachfront yoga shala. A day trip to a secluded beach, which has no road access and can only be reached by boat and with amazing dolphin sightseeing on the way, is also included. There will also be Ayurvedic Indian veggie cooking classes.

Through this retreat, you will learn the ancient art and science of Mysore-Ashtanga-Vinyasa yoga primary series and Vinyasa flow. You will also learn the incredible skill of adjustments and modifications using props, by the lead instructor who was trained by BNS Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois and his grandson, Sharath, and the lineage of the great yogi master, Sri Krishnamacharya, the father of modern yoga.

You have the option to join a day trip to a stunning, secluded beach, which has no road access and can only be reached by boat and has en route, amazing dolphin sightseeing. Learn about the Astanga Eight Limbs, yogic lifestyle off the mat, nutrition modules, and optional vegetarian cooking classes to learn Ayurvedic Indian dishes and to learn about the world famous Indian spices.

Learn with two instructors who specializes in yoga anatomy or physiology experts and learn yoga anatomy to safely teach yoga for beginners, elderly, and those who are in pain, with injuries, and many health conditions that are commonly seen in today's yoga classes.

Learn Myofascial release, which is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Applied yoga therapy is taught in a practical manner through the ayurvedic therapy massage therapist certification classes.

Ayurvedic therapy massage is an ancient healing art involving intensive work on the body’s meridians utilizing assisted stretching, deep compression, channeling of breath, and rhythmic movements. It is traditionally performed on a fully dressed recipient lying on a thin floor mat without the use of oils or creams.

The comprehensive ayurvedic therapy massage or yoga anatomy modules will set the foundation for an enduring practice as a ayurvedic massage therapist and yoga teacher. By keeping class sizes small, it is ensured that every student will work or gets worked on by the instructor, making the learning accurate and experiential. The ayurvedic therapy massage or yoga anatomy modules are conducted typically from Monday to Friday for about 30 - 45 minutes per day.

The modules cover about 70 massage techniques with the client lying usually in a supine or lying-on-their-back position. The course is most beneficial for massage therapists, body workers, yoga practitioners, energy healers, and people interested in alternative healing.

Upon completion, students will have a substantial foundation in the major positions of ayurvedic therapy yoga massage and can expect to perform a comprehensive one and a half hour ayurvedic massage therapy session for family, friends, and eventually for clients. You will also learn the ancient yoga philosophy of the Eight Limbs of Yoga and Patanjali's sutras.

There will also be classes on yoga therapy, yoga for kids, the elderly, and for pre and post-natal students, teaching methodology, ethics, business aspects of opening up your yoga studio and massage practice, energy healing, Reiki, Kundalini awakening, chakras, nadis, pranayama, sanskrit mantras, yoga philosophy, kryas, and chanting.

Learn about professional ethics and how to earn a living from sharing yoga with others in your community and abroad, how to create a business plan for your yoga studio and massage practice. This retreat will show you how to be a yoga teacher and massage practitioner starting from day one. You will be practicing one-on-one with your peers and teachers throughout the course.


This yoga teacher training is suitable for all levels. Everyone is welcome but a year of yoga practice is highly recommended.

L. Farrah est une canado-portuguaise et un professeur de yoga international certifiée E RYT 500 en Ashtanga Vinyasa. Elle est l'auteure de trois livres spirituels récompensés. Elle est directrice de Kaohsiung Yoga School et de Bend it like Buddha Yoga au Portugal. Kanchen started practicing yoga two decades ago and has been teaching professionally for over 10 years, Kanchen has studied with many eminent teachers about asanas and adjustment and is well versed in Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and Hatha yoga. Kanchen has studied with Balaji Rao thombre and pranayama, mantra, mudra, and philosophy with Sri BNS Iyengar in Mysore. Kanchen has also won many prizes at district and state level competitions. She established and has been running successfully the BNS Iyengar Khrisnamacharya School in Mysore for over a decade.
Reshy has assisted and also led several 200-hour yoga teacher training programs in India and Thailand for different schools. She has registered her yoga school, Yoga Space, with Yoga Alliance and offers 200-hour yoga teacher training in Hatha and Vinyasa flow yoga. Reshy trained in the discipline of yoga under two very experienced teachers, Sujata Nerurkar and Dr. Renu Mahtani at Param Yoga, in Pune, India, where she completed her foundation in Hatha yoga teacher training and medical yoga therapy in 2011. She trained further in Vinyasa yoga, prenatal yoga, science of pranayama, and Viniyoga.
Tori Mitchell
Tori Mitchell is an expert in Ashtanga Vinyasa and the founder and main instructor at VIBE YOGA, Taiwan. Her most recent background training is in the Advanced Teacher Training in Anatomy and Adjustments with Arielle Nash at Centered Yoga in Koh Samui, Thailand. Tori Mitchell also studied Ashtanga Vinyasa with Manuel Ferreira, an authorized teacher from KPJAYI and also completed a two week immersion with Iain Grysak in Ubud, Bali on Pranayama, Philosophy and Ashtanga Vinyasa. She's trained in Asana and Pranayama in Mysore, India with the last living legend of Ashtanga, Guruji BNS IYENGAR.

Bend it like Buddha's food concept is healthy, tasty, and organic. Everything is freshly harvested and lovingly prepared with attention to detail in the restaurant. Focused on vegetarian, vegan, and raw food, the Lotus restaurant offers diverse fusion recipes in a peaceful and tranquil setting.

Bend it like Buddha believes that pleasing your palate is fundamental to your experience. Included in the price are one large buffet brunch. These could be your choices of lunch or brunch (from the specials menu): fresh tropical fruits, homemade organic yogurt, a wide selection of vegetarian dishes, which are delicious even to those not used to vegetarian food, dhal, rice, salads, detox herbal teas, and chai.

Throughout the day, you can order small snacks, vitamin and health-booster juices, and fresh tropical fruits from the menu, please note that these are not included in the retreat price. You can have these at your hut or relax in the lounge, the perfect place to read or listen to some chill out tunes.

Activités et lieux à visiter

Agonda Beach, which is rated as the number one beach in India and second in Asia, is within walking distance. It is about 20 minutes along rice paddies. On your days off from the training, you will have various options for evening meals which include the onsite restaurant, delicious organic kitchen, Blue Planet, at the resort entrance, which is probably the best organic restaurant in the area, if not all Goa, or you can go to Agonda, Palolem, or Patnem, where there are hundreds of places to choose from.

Students often enjoy going out once or twice during the week to check out the shops, market stalls, and activities on the beaches while having the relief of returning and sleeping soundly. It is safe and easy to get rickshaw taxis back even if it’s late at night. However, most of the students travel together and it's a fun and great bonding experience to meet like minded yogis from around the world. There are also optional Bollywood dancing classes boat trips to see wildlife in Arabian Sea, sea dolphins, kayaking, or taking cooking clases.

Ayurvedic treatments

Ayurveda was developed more than 5000 years ago by highly spiritual beings and means the knowledge of life and longevity. The aim of all Ayurvedic treatments is to bring harmony and re-establish physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Treatments focus on the cause of problems to give permanent health solutions, rather than combating symptoms. The core of Ayurveda is massage using essential oils, natural herbs, and plants.


The beach resort offers different forms of massages, like ayurvedic massage, depending on the visiting specialist.


Reflexology is a relaxing treatment involving massaging of feet. It is based on the theory that for every part of the body, there is a corresponding reflex point in the foot. All the energy meridians are represented in the feet together with many nerve endings that relate to organs in the body.

Before the massage the patient’s feet are soaked in a foot bath with hot water and aromatherapy oils. By massaging the feet through a form of acupressure, deposits that block the body’s energy flow are broken up. Reflexology helps the body to regain its balance and contributes to good health.


Reiki literally means life force energy. It is a holistic healing method involving the laying of hands. Reiki restores energy channels, balances the chakra system, and eliminates toxins. It is an ancient treatment that was rediscovered in Japan in the 1920s.


Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing traditional Japanese healing art. It literally means "finger pressure" and is often referred to as a form of acupuncture without needles. Shiatsu is based on the principle that energy flows through the body through meridians. If the energy flow, ki or chi, is disrupted, then pain, irritations, anxiety, and emotional imbalances follow.

Through a combination of stretches, joint rotations, and gentle pressure, Shiatsu stimulates the body’s innate healing mechanisms. Regular therapeutic treatments can strengthen the immune system and lead to better health and well-being.

Comment se rendre sur place ?

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flights to arrive at Goa Dabolim airport (GOI). The accommodation is about an hour and a half from the airport. If you give Bend it like Buddha Yoga your flight details, they can arrange a shared ride pick-up transfer with other students at the local rate.

Arrival by train

It is possible to ravel via train and you are encouraged to send an inquiry if you would like to know more about how you can reach the retreat through this method.
