The Dainas (Latvian folk songs) are little quatrains of an ancient Latvian wisdom captured in a song. Created over a thousand years ago, Dainas were part of celebrations, daily work, and reflections on life. During Dainas meditation, people listen or sing together these sacred and powerful lines accompanied with the sound of Latvian traditional music instrument “kokle” and open themselves to the eternal knowledge of the universe. The pure and harmonious sound of Dainas has a rejuvenating effect on human body, mind, and soul. It restores energy, creates harmony, opens one's inner source of happiness and love, and is filled with divine vibrations.
During this ancient and authentic festivity, people gather together in beautiful countryside, put on traditional costumes or wear flower crowns, sing and dance around bonfires, foretell future, improve their well-being, invite good fortune with the help of centuries-old rituals, and wait for the sunrise early in the morning. It is a really magical and once-in-a-lifetime experience you wouldn't be able to enjoy elsewhere.
