Sometimes we need to take a break from our busy lives in order to slow things down to self-reflect and give our body time to detox with a 100% raw, plant based diet. At Bahay Kalipay Retreat Centre, we incorporate yoga, meditation, nature settings, spa services and more for a whole body, mind and soul rejuvenation. Our eco-friendly retreat centre also offers a humble abode for anyone wishing to go through a whole system detox. This is the perfect space for anyone who is experiencing stress and chronic sickness. You will be surprised at how easy it is to ease into a renewed body, rejuvenated mind, and energized spirit with the right space, people and food to support this detox.

Bahay Kalipay is an intimate ashram style space where guests, teachers and facilitators make themselves at home. Some of our independent structures include Issa hut with double bedrooms and the Ma-I common space, our personal Dap-ay beach, the healing arts hut we call, Pugad ng Diwata, and Kalipay Kaf, which is also open to the general public for breakfast, lunch and dinner by reservation.
Accommodations include private couples cabin, family rooms, and individual rooms for our guests, which are almost always retreatants. We have a daily onsite staff of kitchen personnel, guest relations and retreat facilitators, and offer daily housekeeping as requested, and as-needed laundry services. Guests of Bahay Kalipay can take advantage of our gentle detox, deep cleanse program of raw food, yoga classes, workshops, spa services and more.
All five rooms in the Main House are on the third floor with views of the evergreen Palawan horizon. We have 2 single rooms, 2 double rooms with a balcony, and a triple ideal for families. All rooms are open-air, equipped with an electric fan and mosquito netting to keep the bugs at bay while sleeping. Some rooms have a balcony and/or split level lofts for meditation or additional storage. Alternatively, guests can choose to sleep in the open air on the the landing area of Ma-I space, with simple beddings and mosquito nets.
The second floor split-level room is a large inner dance space designed to provide conditions for healing, silent and insightful spiritual practice. This is where personal early morning meditations are held, as well as yoga classes, and in the afternoons and evenings, inner dance sessions, workshops and other gatherings. Ma-I and the accommodations area are closed to the public during retreat days and healing workshops and sessions.
Referred to the nest in english, the space is for massage and one-on-one healing sessions. The second story landing is set up with an altar and a collection of books, ideal for contemplation, prayer or a well-deserved siesta.
In the mornings, the functional sandy zen garden is a venue for tea and yoga. In the afternoons, the garden is used for soulwork workshops and earth healing. And in the evening, it has hosted bonfires, star and moon gazing, drum circles, tribal ceremonies, singing, fire dancing, and cozy conversation.
Our dining room can seat 24 comfortably, and has squeezed up to 35 guests, as diners enjoy our creatively-prepared raw, organic, mostly vegan cuisine using quality ingredients sourced from certified local producers. It is adorned with a collection of spiritual art by artists who have visited Bahay Kalipay and have left some of their work to share. The Kaf is also open to guests who are keen to experience Bahay Kalipay and meet some of the residents. However, advanced reservation required.
We have yoga on most mornings and inner dance on some nights, but one day a week we have total silence and coconut fast. Occasionally, we have a fire ritual and at times it may coincide with the full or new moon, when we tailor the evening program. Your personal transformation process will be supported by workshops and rituals led by both resident and visiting facilitators. You will also experience the deep meditative quality of a one-day coconut fast as we hold space for total silence.
Hatha yoga provides a vehicle to strengthen the body, relax the mind, and prepare for union with God (or your highest self) through deep meditative practice. You can gradually give yourself a healthier body and mind, reduced stresses in your daily life, and an overall sense of well-being.
Kundalini yoga is appropriate for beginner to advanced students. Explore different postures and movements designed to give an aerobic workout, cleanse the body, and strengthen the nervous system. You will also feel energy flow, tension release, and have heightened body listening.
The inner dance experience is held every Wednesday and Saturday evenings. It is complimentary for all guests.
The Inner Dance is a transformative self-awakening process that organically leads anyone in surrender towards authentic and meaningful existence through intuitive healing, release work, energy awareness, live foods and ecological lifestyles, which can eventually assist in the planets healing and evolution in a time of accelerated global awakening process. Inner Dance is the intuitive remembrance of the true self through heightened inner awareness of bodies, minds and emotions as energy. Coming to the awareness of this energy brings people to a more strengthened, sustainable and harmonious existence with other beings and the planet itself.
As the Inner Dance process peels away the layers of our conditioned mental limitations, it slowly reveals our deeper core principles and the activation of our Birth Vision - our primary reason for existing on the planet to begin with. It is in this remembrance that the Inner Dance ultimately leads participants to intuitively evolve in response to global shifts and to embrace a more harmonious way of existing on our planet.

Raw food detox chef, Daniw Arrazola, together with our conscious-kitchen visiting chefs and assistants will prepare gourmet raw food meals to detox your body, while you enjoy the various tastes of super foods that nourish your body on a cellular level. We also use our own blend of essential oils and cold-pressed coconut oil to aid the cleansing process and soothe your body, through therapeutic massage and deep nature body scrub. A colon therapy will be scheduled towards the end of your 7-day stay, as your climax body cleanse. Our daily detox regimen, comprised of morning flush, dry skin brushing, oil pulling therapy, and lymphatic system exercises, is designed for you to continue the cleanse when you go back home.

As the co-founder of Bahay Kalipay, she has introduced raw food nutrition and cuisine to many people who have later influenced so many that comprise the raw food support community in the Philippines. She has organized and managed retreats and workshops in Penang, KL, Singapore and various parts of the Philippine Islands. She received her certification in Raw Food Preparation and Detox during a one-month course in Thailand organized by Pure Joy Academy. Daniw also leads transformative modalities, which include Inner dance, Inner food, Inner yoga, Inner birthing and Inner parenting.

With his knowledge on Inner Dance energy and transformative medicine, Pi has worked extensively with medical practitioners, schools, government and NGO agencies, corporations and many institutions around the world, in healing and also in progressive education, deep ecology, raw food nutrition, organic food production, community development and sustainable architecture. He is an active environmentalist and is the former Philippine ambassador for the Global Eco-Village network.
Using organic ingredients and sourcing from certified local producers whenever possible, the raw food dishes are creatively and lovingly prepared. If you are new to raw, you will be surprised by the intense flavors inherent in live foods. When you have it for lunch, you will feel energized after, instead of the familiar sleepy tiredness that comes after eating a typical cooked meal. We also make our own chai, healthy after-yoga breakfasts, power live food lunches, healthy snacks, and simply satisfying vegan dinners. Our food is also always freshly prepared.
