You will be staying at Luna Lodge, a secluded eco-lodge set in the pristine and captivating Osa Peninsula near Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica. National Geographic has described the Osa Peninsula as the most biologically intense place on earth. Whether hiking with the possibility of encountering rare wildlife, birdwatching, or practicing yoga, Luna Lodge is truly a unique experience.


Each bungalow has its own private deck where the guests can enjoy and relax, while admiring the beauty of the surrounding of the lodge. The bungalow is really attractive and unique as it has a lush private garden just off the shower, smoothing the transition to the wilderness outside, yet keeping it all protected with a handcrafted stone wall. They are designed to fit perfectly into the rainforest setting.


The hacienda-styled room is a new addition to the lodge. It has two additional private rooms available closer to the main lodge. The view is spectacular and the toucans love to visit the neighboring trees in the afternoon.


For a nature lover, tents have either two single beds or one double bed, a private bathroom with hot water, electricity, and a balcony overlooking the canopy of the rain forest.

This retreat will be held in Luna Lodge, located in captivating Osa Peninsula near Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica. This area is one of the most bio-diverse spots on the entire planet, and has been described as the most biologically intense place on earth by no less an authority than National Geographic Magazine.

The main feature of the Osa Peninsula is the 42,000-hectare Corcovado National Park, a home to almost 400 species of birds, 140 species of mammals, 116 species of amphibians and reptiles, over 500 species of trees, and more than 6,000 species of insects. With 13 major ecosystems, the park protects endangered species such as the jaguar, puma, crocodile, tapir, poison dart frogs, and the harpy eagle.

The expansive beaches of the Osa, especially those near Carate, where Luna Lodge is situated, are also major nesting sites for several varieties of sea turtles. If you really want to experience a lowland tropical rainforest in its most natural state, yet also enjoy an outstanding tropical beach environment, this is the place to do it.

In this program, you will experience the Forrest yoga practices, taught by experienced and lovely yoga instructors, Jerusha, Brittany, and Lana. Besides yoga classes and adventure program, Forrest Yoga also invited a very special guest musician, Dave Hildtebrand. He will weave his musical scoring throughout the entire week. It will make this program even more interesting.

Forrest yoga morning program

The program will be started with a traditional ceremony of drumming, chanting, and journey. It will be led by Jerusha Rone. She will then guide you through a two-hour Forrest yoga practice.

Forrest yoga is renowned as an intensely physical and internally focused practice that emphasizes on how to carry a transformative experience off the mat and into daily life. The practice challenges students to access their whole being and to use Forrest yoga as a path to finding and then cleansing the emotional and mental blocks that dictate and limit their lives.

Through Forrest yoga, you will cultivate an acute awareness of your own practice and life process, creating a unique and powerful opportunity for you to make practical life decisions based on your own experiences.

Afternoon program

Afternoon sessions will be led by Brittany or Lana and include a second asana practice as well as talking circles, book talks, yoga Nidra, and nature immersions into the surrounding park and local beach.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). You are advised to arrive in Costa Rica on January 31, 2017 and spend a night at the local hotel. You will leave for Osa Peninsula early next morning on February 1, 2017 and take an internal flight to Puerto Jiménez Airport (PJM). Transfer from this airport is included.

Responsible tourism

3% of all proceeds go to the White Hawk Foundation, which supports the surrounding rainforest.

  • Jerusha Rone

    Jerusha discovered Forrest Yoga in 2007 and has taken the foundation training, advanced training, and mentorship program. She feels Forrest Yoga as an excellent way to seek or deepen embodiment and a powerful devotion to life. She collects songs and rocks everywhere she goes and she is really in love with the Bay Area Forrest Posse.

  • Lana Smithner

    After spending five years as a professional actor with a bustling and often chaotic city life, Lana Smithner decided to go on a sabbatical and take the Forrest Yoga Foundation teacher training with Ana Forrest in the Fall of 2015. Lana feels most at home in the ocean or air, which is why she is so drawn to Forrest Yoga and ceremony. They help her to not only plant her feet on the ground as the trees do, but also to slow down and breathe.

  • Brittany Bares

    Brittany is a brand-new yoga instructor, who completed the Chicago foundation teacher training, in September 2015. She has been practicing Forrest Yoga for six years and is honored to have the opportunity to teach her passion. Aside from teaching yoga, Brittany has a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and a Master’s degree in Social Work.
