15 Day A Meditative Journey into Presence Yoga Retreat in Northern India

Balancing a simultaneous inner and outer journey, this Northern India Retreat will explore the theme of presence as you move from the chaos and hidden mysticism of Delhi, to the shores of Mother Ganga in Rishikesh, to the higher Himalayas of the Dalai Llamas home in Dharamsala. You will learn to experience greater awareness with your daily practice of sadhana (spiritual practice) that includes yoga asana, pranayama, mantra, and silence.

Accommodation for the retreat is shared occupancy in a mixture of hotels, hostels, guesthouses, bungalows, family homes, ashrams, monasteries and on some journeys even in tents and yurts. In order to keep costs of the journeys low, you will stay on budget to mid-range accommodation that is always comfortable, clean, and secure. Flowing Spirit Journeys chooses places that have supportive beautiful energy, a home-like atmosphere, and inspire spiritual practice.

Flowing Spirit Journeys India Yoga Retreat Itinerary

During this retreat, with support from the group and the powerful spiritual energies of the Himalayas, you will live your moving meditation exploring sacred sites, busy marketplaces, outdoor adventures, Satsang with spiritual masters, and the simple craziness of life in India.

This retreat will give you tools to help you to integrate a more meditative awareness into your everyday life. Life with presence is the key to expand beyond fears and doubts, to embody your purpose, and to live from your empowered creative self, regardless of outside influences. You can relax deeply and safely into your journey as our India experienced guides and teachers organize all the daily travel details, take you to the cleanest, most delicious restaurants, unveil sacred powerful sites, bring you to their favorite teachers, and help you navigate in a sometimes chaotic country.

Day 1 - Arrival in Delhi

  • Arrive in Delhi by 3 p.m.
  • Group meeting
  • Visit the Lotus temple
  • Delicious Indian dinner

Day 2 - Rishikesh, yoga, meditation

  • Delhi to Rishikesh - Travel by train from Delhi to the powerful Holy city of Haridwar
  • Head to Laxmanjula, Rishikesh for the opening circle in the foothills of the Himalayas, on the banks of Ma Ganges
  • Evening yoga and meditation

Days 3 to 7 - Rishikesh, Satsang, mantras, Holi, Ayurvedic cooking

In Rishikesh, you will explore the magical yoga capital of the world and connect to the powerful energies of this sacred Hindu place. You will also explore various yoga teachers and styles, listen to Satsangs with enlightened masters, visit the ashram that the Beatles stayed in, or open your heart through Kirtan.

The opportunity to explore the holy Shiva temple of Neelkanth, meditate in the ashram of Ananda Mayi, experience the Hindu Color festival of Holi, learn about Ayurvedic cooking, cleanse some Karmas with a Ganga bath, and open to the unique teachings that this sacred place has for you will be available as well. Within this time, you will also deepen your states of awareness with time in total silence alongside Mother Ganga.

Day 8 - Dharamsala

  • Rishikesh to Dharamsala - Train to the sacred Tibetan Buddhism village of Little Lhasa, Dharamsala.

Days 9 to 13 - Dharamsala, meditation, hikes

You will continue your experiential journey as you expand your consciousness with the support of the Higher Himalayas. You will meditate in the temple of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, practice walking meditation as we hike the mountain Triund, and sleep near its summit, share with Tibetan Refugees, visit the Karmapa at Norbulingka, and spend a day in complete silence to deepen the state of meditation.

Days 14 to 15 - Delhi, meditation

In Delhi, you will experience the spiritual aspects of Delhi as you integrate your experience of moving meditation within Rickshaws, markets, busy streets, and delicious restaurants. You will also visit the Red Fort, Delhi Temples, and the Gandhi Museums.

This retreat will take place in several places of India. You will arrive at Delhi to start the journey, then you will visit Rishikesh. You will travel to Dharamsala next and then you will return to Delhi for departure.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 14% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
