Included in your yoga retreat package is unlimited yoga, classes ranging from foundations for beginners, chakra activating vinyasa flow classes, yin, slow flow and restorative classes, pranayama (breath work) and meditation. This yoga package is designed to nourish and revitalize you, inside and out. Come to experience the beauty of the Gili Islands in the Yoga Garden. Please note that this retreat is a yoga stay package rather than a group led retreat so the start date is flexible.
Situated in the center of the Indonesian paradise island Gili Air, Flowers and Fire Yoga Garden blends traditional Javanese artisanal teak details with local bamboo and ulang ulang style structures. This has created an intimate and magical space which maximizes interaction with the beautiful surrounding environment.
Their two yoga studios, cafe, and accommodation open out onto their gardens allowing a seamless indoor or outdoor experience. This reflects their site-specific design principles. These principles have meant that they preserved existing trees and created their buildings around them. Their magnificent mango tree holds space at the center of everything.
All rooms have en-suites with hot water and display a high attention to detail in the linen, toiletries, lighting, and design layout. Come check out their wholefoods cafe.
With a mural of their Flowers and Fire Goddess morphing into a firebird for their cafe backdrop, they have created a beautifully crafted eating and hangout space. With antique teak pieces and details for their doors, benches, and furniture, they evoke a sense of folk magic.
Their cafe is vegetarian and serves simple but delicious whole food creations with plenty of fresh, minimally processed, and enzyme-rich ingredients. Everything, from their bread to their peanut butter, to their dressings, and sauces are made from scratch using healthy and whole ingredients. Their food philosophy is that simple, hearty, fresh, healthy, digestible, and delicious food is best. But there is always space for good coffee and an extensive tea selection.

As an artist and yoga practitioner, she has always been interested in the relationship between creativity, mindfulness, and the body. Through her own studies and practice, she has explored both creativity and the healing arts in a wide variety of areas, from textiles, performance, pedagogy, art, and filmmaking to yoga, massage, and meditation. As a teacher and creative director of flowers and fire, her aim is to weave together the disciplines of yoga, meditation, and creative manifestation to support the transformative journey towards a more graceful, mindful, and creative state of well-being.
Welcome to the beautiful island Gili Air. Flowers & Fire Yoga Garden is delighted to welcome you to their yoga garden and cafe, located in the heart of the community. The local community are incredibly welcoming and accepting of the different cultural customs of tourist guests and it is always appreciated when guests have some understanding and respect for their customs in return.
As Gili Air is a Muslim island, there is a mosque in the center of the island which broadcasts the call to prayer five times a day. It is normally only about 5-10 minutes, though sometimes a longer sermon is also broadcast (normally on Fridays which is the most significant day of the week in Islam). It can be heard over most of the island but can be quite meditative and a nice reminder to check in.
Flowers & Fire Yoga Garden loves that their location offers their guests a birds-eye view of this unique local community and they enjoy a friendly and respectful relationship with their neighbors. As a way of maintaining good relations, they request that their guests be respectful to the local culture and religion by not walking / riding a bicycle through the streets in a bikini or crop / midriff tops (for women) or shirtless (for men), a dress or top / vest and shorts are fine. Bikinis (women) and just shorts (men) are fine however on the beachfront.

The closest airports to them are either Denpasar (Ngurah Rai International Airport) (DPS) in Bali or Lombok (Bandar Udara International Airport) (LOP) in Indonesia. To get here from Bali you will need to get a fast boat over from Padang Bai harbor (also there are a few options nearer the airport but Padang Bai is the main harbor to Gili Air).
Please leave at least half a day to get here - the shuttle pick up (which is included in the fast boat ticket price with the bigger boat companies) will be in the morning (around 7 a.m.) and takes about 1.5-2 hours depending on where you are in Bali. The fast boat (most leave at around 9 a.m.) from Padang Bai to Gili Air takes just under 2 hours so it'll get you to the island before midday. There are some fast boats leaving around 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. as well.
If you need help with organising a transfer and fast boat from Bali you can contact the agent they use who is reliable and offers affordable prices. You can pay him directly in cash on the day.
If you are coming from Lombok airport you’ll need to get a taxi from there to Bangsal harbor (which takes just under 2 hours) and then a 15 minute boat ride to Gili Air. The last public boat leaves around 4 p.m. but you can always get a private boat after this time which is more expensive. They have a great agent that they use who will be able to organise a taxi pick/boat ride for you and you’ll just need to pay him directly (in cash) on the day.
