A full weekend of fun, yoga, camping, and climbing with adventurous women in the beautiful desert landscape of Joshua Tree National Park!
You will be staying at Cascade Trails Mustang Sanctuary. It is located about five minutes from the park entrance of Indian Cove. Showers are available at Coyote Corner for 4 USD in Joshua Tree. You will be in a few adjacent campsites with plenty of room for you to pitch a tent or car camp. They also have several glamping options available should you wish not to camp. There are several picnic tables and fire rings there.
They will be providing wood for a fire each night and a few stoves or pots, aluminum foil, pans, etc., for anyone to use. They suggest bringing a cooler to keep your food items and at least a cup, bowl, and spoon. There are toilets, fire pits, and cell service at the campground, but no water. They will have some large jugs for the group, but please bring extra bottles or containers for yourself, if possible.
Learn from FIFTHclass Climbing School & Guide Service's full staff of AMGA-certified female guides who are experts at finding the right climbs for you. They offer guided climbing and yoga instruction for climbers and yogis of all skill levels, from first-time beginners to advanced. Then, after a full day out, enjoy a campfire chatting with new friends. Do not forget to look out for the shooting stars.
The majority of women come to the program alone - somewhere around 70 percent. Guides will determine whether or not they will allow leading based on participants' prior experience, routes available for leading, and mock leading competency. If this is a skill you want to learn on the retreat, communicate with your guides and they will try to get you some chances to learn the art of leading during the program.
From 4:00 p.m. onward, meet at the campsite, there is no specific time, as many of you will be driving to Joshua Tree that night. You can also arrive on Saturday morning, just get in touch to work out the details. Register and sign paperwork - This is a good time to get fitted for climbing shoes, helmets, harnesses, and belay devices, should you need any of these items. Set up your tent and sleeping area. You will have a fire going once it gets dark and you will use this time to get to know one another.
Make breakfast and lunches to bring with you for your climbing day. Morning yoga among the Joshua Trees. Split into groups and go out to the crags. You will climb most of the day and have informational and skill seminars. Head back to the campground for dinner, relaxing, and fire.

Casey has earned her ERYT 200 and RYT 500 Yoga Alliance certifications under the tutelage of Sigrid Matthews, Noah Maze, and Matt Schwartz. Along the way to becoming a yoga teacher, she discovered AcroYoga and Thai massage in 2012, which blew the lid off of her already delighted mind, body, and spirit. She dove deeper, garnering both Level 1 and 2 certifications from AcroYoga.org, and taking multiple Thai Massage trainings. Her ability to maintain a beginner’s mind, even as her physical practice may look nowhere near beginner, keeps her offerings accessible, encouraging, and full of love.
All meals are at your own expense. Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms have a few small markets. You can get all the basics, but very few specialty items. Yucca has many large stores and restaurants available. You can grab food in town and bring it to the campground if you do not want to cook.
