All guests will be staying at Aurovalley Ashram. Accommodation for one to four people can be organised either in rooms or apartments. The rooms are simple and clean, all with private bathrooms, and solar water heating system. All rooms have mattresses, bed sheets, pillows, and quilts for the wintertime.

Held in the quietude of nature, this retreat is a unique opportunity to experience the blending of Sequoia and Sparrow’s combined years of expertise in the world of sound medicine and yoga alongside the magical Ganga river in the foothills of the Himalayas. Study yoga in a traditional ashram at the base of the Himalayan mountains. Be surrounded by the healing power of mother nature, near the holy river Ganga in the yoga heartland of India.

Here, you will be able to accelerate your personal growth and self-empowerment as you boost your confidence and self-esteem. Emerge into a journey of self-discovery through the ancient teachings of yoga. This retreat adopts the traditional teachings of yoga, based on the combined practice of Hatha and Vinyasa. The course allows extra time to explore breath (pranayama) and sound (Nada yoga).

You will practice the sound of yoga through the use of mantras, practicing the Indian musical scale, vocal play, singing, and learning to listen with more awareness. These practices are a gift of freedom to the voice, allowing you to open and express whilst igniting more prana into the body. This retreat offers life long tools to live with more passion, confidence, and consciousness. Your experienced teachers are filled with an infinite sea of wisdom, inspiration, and fun.

  • Sequoia Henning

    Sequoia’s yogic journey began with the very disciplined practice of the Iyengar tradition. After years of practicing the Iyengar lineage, she cultivated her own personal practice and discipline, which organically transformed her asana practice into a mixture of the Ashtanga and Hatha schools. Now, she teaches the traditional practice of Hatha yoga incorporating space for inner awareness and witnessing, which allows one to deepen inner connection beyond the physical body.

  • Tiffany Brulotte

    Also known as "Sparrow Grace", Tiffany is a Canadian based singer-songwriter, kirtan artist, and healer. Her performances include her original songs and select cover tunes woven creatively with traditional Eastern mantras and call and response kirtan chants. The mantras access a deep vibrational wisdom that is beyond words and the songs speak truth that can be understood by the head and heart. The end result is a musical experience that is heartfelt, uplifting, and inspiring.

This retreat will take place at Aurovalley Ashram, a peaceful, quiet, and pristine international center for inner ecology with spiritual needs. The ashram is immersed in nature surrounded by birds, animals, and greenery in its quiet rural setting located between the sacred cities of Hardwar and Rishikesh in Northern India. As a place open to everyone in search of inner peace and inner growth, some of the facilities at Aurovalley include a meditation mandir, large yoga hall, library, bookstore as well as the Harmony Health Center for ayurvedic treatments.

In addition to being a space for spiritual development, Aurovalley runs free health and education programmes for people from the surrounding communities who have very low economic income including nursery and primary schools, a young mothers vocational training, and de-addiction programming. Founded in 1985 by Swami Brahmdev, Aurovalley is a non-profit charitable organization registered as a Yoga Educational Institution by the Government of India.

Included in the price of the retreat are three organic vegetarian meals a day, much of which is grown right on the premises and unlimited drinking water. Food is not spicy and includes milk products.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). The nearest domestic airport it Jolly Grant Airport (DED) in Dehradun, 40 minutes away from Aurovalley. Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request.

Arrival by bus

The cheapest way to reach Aurovalley Ashram is by bus. If you are coming from Delhi, you can get a bus to Rishikesh or to Dehradun (via Hardwar) and stop in Raiwala. You can either walk three kilometers or hire an express auto-rickshaw.

Arrival by train

There are many trains coming from Delhi, the best one is called Shatabdi - Dehradun Express. It leaves twice daily from New Delhi Train Station and the journey takes four hours and fifteen minutes up to Hardwar.

Arrival by taxi

Please contact Aurovalley Ashram if you wish to be picked up in a taxi at Hardwar Train Station. You can also have the option of hiring a taxi at the train station. The journey takes around 40 minutes.

You can also hire an express auto-rickshaw at half the price of a taxi, or take a public auto-rickshaw to Raiwala, and from Raiwala you can walk or hire an express auto-rickshaw to cover the last three kilometers.

Please contact Aurovalley Ashram if you wish to be picked up at Delhi Airport or at your hotel in New Delhi for an additional 80 USD. It takes about seven hours, 212 kilometers, to drive from Delhi to Aurovalley Ashram.

    Learned more than I expected

    CONS Cons: There is nothing to say about the training itself. Just the housekeeping cleaned up the room in different times a day and often during breaks of the training when I liked to study.

    PROS Pros: I booked this training because of it's description. It seemed to me getting more out of it as of other teacher trainings. And it was a great decision! I learned so much more than just asanas. I learned for life! Sequoia and her team are great teachers and also great supporter all the time. The food was good and the staff of the hotel did everything to make our stay perfect. The place near Ubud is a perfect place to do a Yoga Teacher Training! All in all I would do it again. I highly recommend to learn with Sequoia and her team!

    The best yoga teacher training around!

    CONS Cons: The food was ok but it was getting very old eating the same thing over and over again.

    PROS Pros: Sequoia is an amazing woman and teacher. Her two assistant teachers were also terrific! I couldn't have had a better education. The live music was a big bonus but everything was very well planned and we learned so much more than I had thought possible! I'm truly grateful and feel very confident as I am going out there being a teacher!

    "After reviewing scores of RYT programs offered in some of the coolest locations on the planet, Anne and I decided on the Feeling Soul Good program in Bali in April.     "Student of Feeling Soul Good teacher training, Bali, Indonesia 2016. As I approach the one year anniversary of when I completed my yoga teacher training with Feeling Soul Good, I am thinking a lot about all of the ways it has positively impacted my life both daily and also on a very deep level. Feeling Soul Good provided me with a well-rounded understanding of yogic principles, and how we can apply these in our daily lives. Prior to completing this training, I was looking for a “quick fix” to happiness. I thought to myself if I could just do “x, y, and z,” then I can be happy and coast through the rest of my life in blissful unawareness. But that’s not how life works. “Sthira-sukham asanam,” roughly translated as finding the balance of “effortless effort in our postures,” is one of the yoga sutras by Patanjali that our teacher, Stephan, often quoted in training. Life is a balance: a balance of discipline and letting go, a balance of day and night, of darkness and light, of feminine and masculine. Yoga means “union,” and teaches us to bring balance into all areas of our lives, through the practices of the asanas (yoga postures) but also through the other yogic principles. Yoga has transformed my relationship with myself, with my friends and family, and with nature. I have learned to integrate myself more in my physical environment, to connect with nature in order to connect to my true self. My relationship with food has transformed, and I am now able to eat more with mindfulness and appreciation of food, rather than being disconnected from the substance that provides me with life and energy. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is this: yoga has transformed my life for the better in every way. Even if you are not planning on teaching yoga yourself, Feeling Soul Good will provide you with the tools you need to live a happier, more fulfilling life.
