Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Ashtanga Yoga)

Sequoia’s yogic journey began with the very disciplined practice of the Iyengar tradition. After years of practicing the Iyengar lineage, she cultivated her own personal practice and discipline, which organically transformed her asana practice into a mixture of the Ashtanga and Hatha schools. Now, she teaches the traditional practice of Hatha yoga incorporating space for inner awareness and witnessing, which allows one to deepen inner connection beyond the physical body.

  • Tiffany Brulotte

Also known as "Sparrow Grace", Tiffany is a Canadian based singer-songwriter, kirtan artist, and healer. Her performances include her original songs and select cover tunes woven creatively with traditional Eastern mantras and call and response kirtan chants. The mantras access a deep vibrational wisdom that is beyond words and the songs speak truth that can be understood by the head and heart. The end result is a musical experience that is heartfelt, uplifting, and inspiring.

This retreat will take place at Aurovalley Ashram, a peaceful, quiet, and pristine international center for inner ecology with spiritual needs. The ashram is immersed in nature surrounded by birds, animals, and greenery in its quiet rural setting located between the sacred cities of Hardwar and Rishikesh in Northern India. As a place open to everyone in search of inner peace and inner growth, some of the facilities at Aurovalley include a meditation mandir, large yoga hall, library, bookstore as well as the Harmony Health Center for ayurvedic treatments.

In addition to being a space for spiritual development, Aurovalley runs free health and education programmes for people from the surrounding communities who have very low economic income including nursery and primary schools, a young mothers vocational training, and de-addiction programming. Learned more than I expected

CONS Cons: There is nothing to say about the training itself. Just the housekeeping cleaned up the room in different times a day and often during breaks of the training when I liked to study.

PROS Pros: I booked this training because of it's description. It seemed to me getting more out of it as of other teacher trainings. And it was a great decision! I learned so much more than just asanas. I learned for life! Sequoia and her team are great teachers and also great supporter all the time. The food was good and the staff of the hotel did everything to make our stay perfect. The place near Ubud is a perfect place to do a Yoga Teacher Training! All in all I would do it again. I highly recommend to learn with Sequoia and her team!

The best yoga teacher training around!

CONS Cons: The food was ok but it was getting very old eating the same thing over and over again.

PROS Pros: Sequoia is an amazing woman and teacher. Her two assistant teachers were also terrific! I couldn't have had a better education. The live music was a big bonus but everything was very well planned and we learned so much more than I had thought possible! I'm truly grateful and feel very confident as I am going out there being a teacher!

Organizer response: Because of the lack of understanding regarding the food, and a few other situations. We won't be working with Aurovalley again. Our new venue owner has a huge heart and understanding to the importance of good food, and hospitality. It was nice to have you join us, Birgitta, as it would not have been the same without your presence. :-)

"After reviewing scores of RYT programs offered in some of the coolest locations on the planet, Anne and I decided on the Feeling Soul Good program in Bali in April. People attend these programs for so many different reasons - some because they know they want to teach yoga, others to deepen their own yoga practice and still others are looking to find a unique life experience or perhaps even looking to find themselves. We had just started our own business integrating performance and wellness for others and wanted to incorporate our passion for yoga into our services. As martial arts instructors and considering Anne’s background in personal training and mine in SCUBA instruction, we were counting on a school that would provide excellent learning that we could bring back to others, personally and professionally. As small business owners, we were counting on value for the cost and time commitment. As yoga practitioners, we were counting on greatly increasing our knowledge and competence in all aspects of yoga. We are so pleased to say that Feeling Soul Good delivered on these expectations - and more. The month-long program with Feeling Soul Good provided an amazingly comprehensive experience for both of us that was well beyond what we had hoped! Sequoia Henning and team covered the necessary fundamentals very well, of course, and managed to do so including a focus on the importance of “sound” in a yoga practice. In this program, we were able to explore not just yoga but ourselves in ways we never imagined. We learned far beyond what we had hoped - and the way they taught has inspired how we aspire to teach going forward. We recommend Feeling Soul Good to any yoga practitioner regardless of their intent to teach or simply deepen their practice. As teacher preparation, we found the Feeling Soul Good RYT program as effective as what we experienced in certification programs of personal training, SCUBA and martial arts teacher training." website, edited

"Student of Feeling Soul Good teacher training, Bali, Indonesia 2016. As I approach the one year anniversary of when I completed my yoga teacher training with Feeling Soul Good, I am thinking a lot about all of the ways it has positively impacted my life both daily and also on a very deep level. Feeling Soul Good provided me with a well-rounded understanding of yogic principles, and how we can apply these in our daily lives. Prior to completing this training, I was looking for a “quick fix” to happiness. I thought to myself if I could just do “x, y, and z,” then I can be happy and coast through the rest of my life in blissful unawareness. But that’s not how life works. “Sthira-sukham asanam,” roughly translated as finding the balance of “effortless effort in our postures,” is one of the yoga sutras by Patanjali that our teacher, Stephan, often quoted in training. Life is a balance: a balance of discipline and letting go, a balance of day and night, of darkness and light, of feminine and masculine. Yoga means “union,” and teaches us to bring balance into all areas of our lives, through the practices of the asanas (yoga postures) but also through the other yogic principles. Yoga has transformed my relationship with myself, with my friends and family, and with nature. I have learned to integrate myself more in my physical environment, to connect with nature in order to connect to my true self. My relationship with food has transformed, and I am now able to eat more with mindfulness and appreciation of food, rather than being disconnected from the substance that provides me with life and energy. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is this: yoga has transformed my life for the better in every way. Even if you are not planning on teaching yoga yourself, Feeling Soul Good will provide you with the tools you need to live a happier, more fulfilling life. Sequoia spent most of her adult life studying yoga in India, and truly lives what she teaches. She is passionate and very knowledgeable, and passes her teachings on in ways that are easy to digest. The teachers that Sequoia had co-teaching with us at our training in Bali were equally knowledgeable and passionate, and the three teachers’ styles and backgrounds complemented and balanced each other out very well. I would absolutely train with Feeling Soul Good again, and I would highly recommend this teacher training for anyone who is looking to connect deeper with him - or herself and with the world around us."

"I first met Sequoia in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, in 2005. She is an encouraging workshop facilitator, a talented masseuse, sound healer, and an inspirational, wise woman. I am thankful for her teachings in my first official lessons on the subtle body of the Chakras. Her presentation of the profound materials and interactive teaching methods allowed me to become more aware of the connections within and around myself. Sequoia’s understanding of vibrational sound and healing touch has allowed me to walk away from her treatments feeling happy to be me. She is a positively unique human being and I am thankful to have been impacted by her."

"I am forever grateful to have met Sequoia. She has such incredible knowledge, teachings, and energy. Sequoia was one of my teachers on a one month yoga teacher training course in India, and from the very first pranayama class we had with her, I felt I had encountered a very unique and powerful teacher. During my time in India, I was lucky to experience Sequoia’s yoga classes, sound healings, and ceremonies. Her understanding and insight into yoga and spiritual exploration are matched by her passion for sharing them with others. And her sense of humour is infectious! I have not stopped telling people about the “things I learned from Sequoia”, and I look forward to the day I can see this incredible teacher again."

Her sound healing sessions brought me beyond what I knew and was absolutely life changing for myself and many others. Every lesson with Sequoia is an ‘awareness adventure’ , beyond the five senses and deep into the oceans of our souls. Sequoia provided the parameters and gave me the perspective. It’s been almost two years since then and the benefits continue to surface. Life presents precious few opportunities to study with un-corrupted masters. There are countless yoga teacher training out there. Why not make yours meaningful with Sequoia?"
