Pondok Pitaya is a beautiful accommodation and conveniently located meters from the beach. It faces a surf break and swimming pool. The serene beach-front Pondok Pitaya Hotel will be your home for the duration of the training in this tropical paradise.

Pondok Pitaya Hotel sits on the edge of a black and gold-glittered sand beach, surrounded by lush green jungle and rolling hills. Beautifully designed Balinese inspired rooms transport you to a feeling of traditional old world Bali. It is a beautiful space to deeply connect within and with your fellow students over family-style meals together.

Yin yoga

Yin Yoga is a very simple practice, on the surface. From the view of the casual observer, it may seem as if there’s not much going on, but from the practitioner’s point of view, there is something deeply meaningful occurring on every level of experience.

Yin yoga is not as much a style of Yoga as it is a way of practice. Many of the postures used are identical to postures in other, more active styles of yoga, but the approach is that of calm surrender and patient stillness. Within this stillness, the practitioner has the opportunity to observe experience, without interfering, in order to understand what’s teaming beneath the surface of ordinary awareness.

The training will be held in the remote, peaceful paradise location of Balian Beach in West Bali. This tranquil location has the “old world” feel of Bali before it became popular with tourism. Pondok Pitaya Hotel is located on the edge of a natural volcanic black and gold-glittered sand beach surrounded by beautiful cliffs. The expansive beach is safe and perfect for long walks during sunset or sunrise.

Exhale Yoga Retreats chose this location as the spot for their yoga training in Bali 5 years ago for its magical healing powers and its connection to nature away from outside distractions. You will be able to completely immerse yourself in the training and be supported by like-minded trainees.

You'll all be eating together with family style during your stay. There will be a specific yogic menu served at the hotel. They will be providing you with healthy and delicious meals, to nourish your body and soul and sustain your energy throughout the training.

The chefs at Pondok Pitaya put together a blend of Indonesian inspired dishes with some of the most comforting flavors from home, using fresh produce locally sourced from the area.

Prior to the training, you will be asked to inform us about any food allergies and or diet restrictions so Exhale Yoga Retreats may inform the kitchen staff at the hotel to accommodate your needs. Such as nut allergy, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, vegetarian, etc.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). Book a flight that arrives in Bali on October 3, 2020, or earlier. Bali is a day ahead of most cities in North America and Europe. Please refer to this time zone chart if needed.

How to get to Pondok Pitaya

Exhale Yoga Retreats will organize a shuttle for you from the airport to resort. The shuttle will be an additional cost, depending on how many people in your shuttle. This will be organized with you at least a week prior to the training, so you know exactly how much cash to bring and who you will be sharing a shuttle with.

Once you arrive in Bali, you’ll be greeted inside the airport terminal by your friendly driver with a Pondok Pitaya sign and then set out on a ride to paradise! Check-in time at Pondok Pitaya is at 3 p.m on September 16.


Last day of training will be September 26, 2019. The check-out day is September 27. Please, book your flight to depart on or after September 27, 2019. Pondok Pitaya will assist you with departure transportation from the hotel to the airport or your next destination. If you have the time, Exhale Yoga Retreats recommends spending a few extra days in Bali and will happily offer you suggestions on things to do and see.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
