You will be accommodated at EcoYoga Center, at at Inverliever Lodge. Nick and Rachel have created the EcoYoga Center as an expression of their belief in a healthy, happy, carbon free, and sustainable lifestyle. The transformation from an old outdoor center to its present incarnation as a luxurious but still genuinely ‘eco’ holiday experience, is now complete.
The EcoYoga Center is totally off-grid, powered by a 550 kilowatts hydro turbine and a large bank of solar panels. In the glazed studio, overlooking the gorge of the River Liever, you can learn the art of yoga from some of the finest yoga teachers in the world. The 60 square meters shala is purpose built with under floor heating and a very calming ambiance.
Your body can melt into the warmth of the floor during Savasana (deep relaxation at the end of a yoga practice), whilst the mind is gently soothed by the sounds of the nearby waterfalls. There are several bathing areas and showers to choose from. Inspired by the Japanese tradition of the ‘Sento’ or public bathing house, you can soak in the natural wooden hot tub in the Dome, or choose some hideaway bathing spots in the forest or river bank.
The artisan underground sauna is a real treat, perfect for warming up and relaxing those muscles. There are two cold plunge pools for cooling off, filled with water straight from the spring. The outdoor heated bathtubs are the ultimate in natural bathing and an experience not to be missed. It really is a magical opportunity to connect with nature and indulge your wild side.
There are 10 double rooms, each with an en-suite toilet and sink. There are two showers at either end of the building. There are also a converted bothies, with three double rooms and a toilet. The newest edition to the accommodation list is a state of the art yurt, with three single beds, each with a curtain for privacy.
Every room has a luxurious king size bed, organic fair trade cotton sheets and a choice of four pillows to choose from. A bed makes a big difference to your level of comfort. The rooms are all individually heated with electric heaters which are controlled by the guest. There are also two showers in the dome, with the hot tub, and another in the main house along with an indoor bath tub.
