During this retreat, you will stay in a shared room in the charming 18th century farmhouse of Casa Martini, the epitome of traditional Tuscany. Rich in history, this traditional complex has a swimming pool unique with its salt purification system and gardens. Casa Martini has also been divided into three beautifully furnished apartments, namely Casa della Marisa, Casa deli Amici, and Casa di Dino.

Each apartment has its own unique charm and is decorated with antique furniture and the Martini family's own art and photography, bringing a warmth and homeliness to all rooms. Also, the three apartments have a fully-equipped kitchen, an independent entrance, a spacious living room, perfect for winding down between classe., a writing desk, en-suite bathrooms, and various beds.

The twice daily Yogalates classes will take place in the purpose-built, air conditioned yoga shala (studio) on the estate, where all mats and props will be provided.

The hayloft

The hayloft is the holistic open and multifunctional space restructured with natural and traditional elements like stone and wood. In this holistic space, all the activities take place. Projected to this yoga retreat, this space has the sunlight for most of the day, as it used to be the straw deposit to get it dry. This 50-square meter space has a bathroom, a kitchen corner, a projector, heater, a music center with access to all types of computers or mobiles, and wooden floor.

This retreat is designed to suit beginners and intermediate students alike. During this retreat, you will enjoy daily yoga and Pilates classes. The twice daily Yogalates classes will take place in the purpose-built, air-conditioned yoga shala on the estate, where all mats and Yogalates props will be provided. Yogalates focuses on reconnecting body and breath, building core stability, strengthening and stretching the whole body to achieve muscular balance and improved posture and fitness.

From complete beginners to yoga or Pilates to the more experienced who are looking for something a little different, all levels are welcomed for this retreat. Classes will flow at a steady pace, invigorating body and mind with the dynamic physical sequences of Louise Solomon’s award-winning exercise system, a combination of traditional Hatha yoga and Pilates.

You will start the day with easy-to-follow yogic breathing exercises or pranayama to purify the whole system and follow with an energizing physical practice to prepare you for the day ahead. In the evening, a Restorative yoga class will help you sleep more deeply, calming body, mind, and spirit with meditation exercises, mini-massages, deep stretching and guided relaxation.

Attention is always given to basic alignment with respect to the individual; modifications will be offered to help you understand and develop your own unique practice. For this reason, the retreat holds a maximum of ten clients so everyone can benefit from the warmth and individual attention of an intimate class environment. Private one to one instruction is always available for clients interested in developing their own practice.

The retreat will begin with a Restorative yoga session which involves deep stretching and diaphragmatic breathing to release physical, mental, and emotional tension and resettle the nervous system.

On the following three days, every morning will start with a yogalates class which consists of a dynamic blend of yoga postures and mat work pilates. With this practice you will build strength, tone, stamina, and flexibility, thus bringing your whole body into balance. During the afternoon, you will enjoy a gentle Hatha and restorative yoga class which includes yogic breathing exercises, restorative postures, mini-massages, and nightly meditation, a perfect combination to wind down before the end of the day.

  • Bethan Morgan

    Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (Yoga)

Bethan Morgan has been practicing yoga and pilates for over ten years. She discovered yogalates whilst touring abroad as an actress. Thrilled to have the opportunity to train under the guidance of yogalates founder Louise Solomon in Tuscany in 2014, she undertook an eight-week course in mindfulness and yoga therapy in 2015. In early 2016, Bethan spent two months in Rishikesh, India, completing a 500 hour Yoga Alliance Hatha yoga training upon the foothills of the Himalayas.

This retreat will be held at Casa Martini in Montagnano, Tuscany, Italy. In the old land of Tuscany, between castles and parish churches, you will find Casa Martini, an old and charming farmhouse from the end of 1600. Casa Martini is surrounded by the green, rolling hills that guard all the typical features of the Tuscan countryside.

Villages, churches, and castles like those of Montegufoni and Poppiano, hillocks adjacent, along with striking views, spread a magical atmosphere that takes you back in time. This part of Tuscany is a unique area that combines the pleasure of nature with the charm of a past of art and culture.

  • Reseña de Zoe de Reino Unido

"I approached Beth for some one-to-one lessons after experiencing some upper back pain. I had previously been diagnosed with a slight curvature of the spine (also known as kyphosis) and this occasionally caused feelings of stiffness and painful knotted muscles, not helped by long hours of computer work necessary for my job. The routine Beth developed for me was very well-researched and ideally suited to my situation. After a month my back was much more comfortable and I barely needed any painkillers. After three months, I have increased flexibility in my spine and improved posture. Beth’s support and coaching has definitely had mental as well as physical benefits; she has excellent subject knowledge and her supportive and friendly nature makes her the ideal teacher, coach and therapist."

  • Reseña de Agne

"I have the great pleasure of attending Yogalates London, I love the atmosphere in the studio...very positive and friendly. Beth is very skilful and experienced so helps to explore yoga and pilates in high standards of practise. At the same time she can adjust excercises depending on a student’s level and individual needs. In the beginning lots of poses made me challenge my physical endurance and flexibility but now I can more focus on breath and enjoy it all."

  • Reseña de Karima de Reino Unido

"Beth is a wonderfully attentive yogalates teacher. Her ability to hold a whole group whilst giving individual time to people is truly special. These days, I sometimes forget to breathe properly. Beth really understands and encourages the use of breath with movement, helping me to surpass my own physical expectations of self! Thank you for creating a safe, positive environment to work in."

  • Reseña de Uttarai Haran

"I recommend Bethan very highly. I enjoy her lessons very much and feel she has improved and enriched my life considerably by teaching me yoga. Every time I give up she encourages me to believe in myself and motivates me to do more Yoga and improve day by day. I feel blessed to have known Beth and am grateful to her for introducing me to Yoga. With the stigma attached to Disability I never knew in a million years that I could do Yoga. I grew up thinking that people with disabilities cannot do yoga. Beth has changed my mindset and made me believe in myself. I am eternally grateful to her for that. Bethan gave me a new lease of life by believing in me and continuing to teach me Yoga, even though I didn’t have the confidence at times to carry on and tried to give up on numerous occasions. But now Yoga is a way of life for me. I cannot live without it. All the credit goes to Bethan and Yogalates. She is a great Teacher who has taught me to love Yoga and continue it for the rest of my life - I owe Beth for believing in me and changing my life round. I have more energy and confidence to win the world because I practice Yoga. One would not be disappointed by Beth’s genuine, grounded and generous approach to teaching yoga, a true gem of the yoga world"

  • Reseña de Christopher Gurney de Reino Unido

"Having never done any form of yoga or pilates before, I must admit I was somewhat nervous about attempting a combination of the two. However, Beth is an amazing instructor, and is incredibly supportive without being overbearing. After suffering from ongoing back pain for months, I noticed an improvement in my overall health and mobility within just a few weeks of yogalates, and would highly recommend anyone unsure about it to try out one of Beth’s classes."
