Please book your flight to arrive at Kangra Airport (DHM). The airport is about 20 kilometers away from McLeod Ganj and is well-connected to Delhi, Chandigarh, and Kullu airlines like SpiceJet, Air India Regional, and Jagson Airlines which operate regular flights from these cities to Dharamsala. After reaching the airport, you can hire taxis or take buses to reach the destination, which takes about an hour.
A number of private buses and state-owned buses connect to the McLeod Ganj with other cities like Dharamsala (20 kilometers), Chandigarh (250 kilometers), and Delhi (500 kilometers). In New Delhi, most of the buses leave from the ISBT Kashmiri Gate and Majnu-ka-tilla (a Tibetian camp). Deluxe buses of Himachal Pradesh Tourism are also available from Himachal Bhawan. One can also drive to McLeod Ganj from Delhi via National Highway 1, a journey of about ten hours.
Pathankot Junction railway station, located approximately 90 kilometers away is the closest broad gauge railway serving those heading to McLeod Ganj. Some of the popular trains available from Delhi for Pathankot are Uttar Sampark Kranti Express and Jammu Mail. Once you reach Pathankot, take a taxi or bus from outside the station, which is easily available.
