On this retreat, you will be staying at Masseria della Zingara. Masseria della Zingara, the house of the gypsy, was built in 1710 and has been lovingly restored to suit all ages and tastes. The interior is stylish and comfortable and has been restored with the highest attention to detail. The house has a swimming pool and wonderful sun terrace for soaking up the Italian sun and the calm of the countryside. It is the perfect place to restore and rejuvenate your soul.

The accommodation at Masseria della Zingaria is comfortable and has an extremely high quality. Most of the rooms have en-suite facilities. Camping is also possible for those on a tighter budget. Tents are provided and facilities include a communal shower, toilet, and wash basin nearby.

On this retreat, you will enjoy two daily yoga classes which focus on movement, breath, and relaxation. The day will begin with a morning class in the light and airy yoga space which includes meditation and practices focusing on breath and alignment to release and unwind long held tensions.

After the morning session, breakfast will be served on the terrace. The group will meet again in the late afternoon to work into a deeper exploration of the poses, or for a more relaxing and restorative class. There may also be some Nidra yoga, depending on how everyone is feeling that day. There will be one yoga free day and the classes will be suitable for all levels and yoga experience.

The instructor is experienced in offering something for everyone with more challenging practices for experienced yogis and guidance for those who are newer to the practice. If you have the chance though, it’s always a good idea to try a yoga class or two before you come away.

This retreat includes transportation to and from local towns in two evenings where you can buy your own dinner.

    Catherine discovered yoga as a teenager and has been practicing for more than 35 years. Having explored Sivananda, Iyengar, Astanga, and various forms of Hatha yoga, she eventually gravitated to the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli. Her practice and teaching focuses on deepening physical awareness and alignment to reveal the natural freedom of the body, particularly the spine. She is an attentive and thoughtful teacher, and highly skilled at adapting poses to accommodate all levels and types of students, so that everyone leaves class feeling that they have made a fresh discovery about their yoga.

This retreat will take place in Masseria della Zingara, Puglia, Italy. Situated on a ridge of hills extending the length of Puglia, it is close to a series of scattered white-walled medieval towns and villages, each boasting their own culinary specialties. Set in over 20 acres of land with olive, fig, cherry, and almond trees, the views are stunning at all times of the year.

Puglia is an enchanting part of Italy with many interesting historical towns to visit, fabulous walks, and bike rides to go on and up to 50 miles of beautiful coastline to explore. You can head down through the olive plains to the sea where there are many fabulous beaches to explore.

The region boasts spectacular Italian cuisine and some of the the most unspolit environments in Italy, so you are sure to find something to enjoy during this break. Between the classes, there will be plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings.

Daily breakfast and light lunch will be served for you during the retreat. You will also enjoy unlimited drinks and dinner in three evenings. In general, all food offered on the retreat is vegetarian. Special diets can always be catered for and you can inform your dietary requirements at the time of your booking.

Ryanair, Easyjet, and British Airways offer affordable flights to Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport (BRI). The transfers are free if you take these flights or arrive at a similar time.
