Thirty elegant state rooms and junior suites all designed with contemporary amenities, having abundant natural light, eliciting a decorous experience, make up the living spaces of The Bijolai Palace.

Junior suites

Each of these suites have a unique character reflecting an element of the Marwar, namely, Mandore, Rathore, Aravali, Pali, Nagaur, Barmer, Rajputana, and Jal Bhagirathi. Ranging from 400 to 600 square feet, these suites are almost personified with their namesakes. The suites offer luxurious views of the gardens, courtyards, and the Aravalis. The suite amenities are thoughtfully chosen, outfitted with premium bathrooms having door-to-ceiling glass-walled shower with oversized showerhead and foot soaks.

Palace rooms

Adorned with fresco paintings on the wall, soothing colors in the interiors, and equipped with contemporary conveniences of 300 square feet in size, the Palace rooms are refreshing with a view to offer, the Aravalis, verdant gardens, open courtyards, or the Bijolai Lake. In the room, amenities are thoughtfully chosen, outfitted with premium bathrooms having door-to-ceiling glass-walled shower with over-sized shower-head and foot soaks.

Dormitories

This option is ideal for those looking for a luxurious retreat at a more affordable rate. You will be sharing a spacious dormitory with seven other guests, of the same gender.

This retreat is open for everybody. There is no prior requisite of knowing yoga except your willingness and interest to learn. Even if you may be concerned that due to backache, neck pain, frozen shoulder, overweight or any other physical ailments, you will find it difficult to do Yoga, please do not hesitate to reach out with your queries. We have been successfully able to treat with gentleness and care many types of such health issues. So come and explore your own body and see how you can ease your pain and become flexible like anyone else!

Gentle yoga

Gentle yoga is a practice that meets you where you are. It is encouraging and down to earth, reduces pain, releases stress and anxiety, builds physical and emotional resilience, and optimizes your body’s natural healing powers. Experience gentle yoga with modifications of specific yoga postures and breathing practices to calm the mind and bring healing energy to the body. Yoga practice is available to everyone those new to yoga, practitioners, people of all ages and stages of health.

The daily afternoon philosophy class will have the following practice with guided meditation session:

  • Techniques of Attaining Inner Peace (two days)
  • Yoga Nidra session (deep relaxation)
  • Laughter yoga (releasing emotional stress)
  • Breathing techniques

During the retreat, you will enjoy two meditation sessions in the cave, where one of the Pandava brothers, Bheema of the Indian Epic Mahabharata, meditated and stayed for short while during his exile. Even today, after thousands of years, you can still feel the energy and high vibrations.

Introduction to meditation

An introduction to the philosophy and psychology of the practice of meditation taking first steps towards attaining a calm and blissful mind. Practice sitting postures, deep relaxation, breathing exercises, concentration, and methods of introducing positive suggestions in the sub-conscious mind.

Laughter yoga

Find happiness through simple methods, be positive, shed negativity, and access baggage easily for radiant health and a happy childlike mind.

Nidra yoga

Psychic sleep meditation and deep relaxation to mind and body.

Om chanting

Learn to chant om correctly through proper exhalation and how to experience God in this life, both outside and inside yourself .

Positive thinking

Learn to identify the habitual thought patterns that prevent you from fulfilling your highest potential. By applying simple practical methods of self-inquiry, imagery, and positive affirmations that contribute to vibrant health, more harmonious, peaceful, and successful life.

Workshops

Please note that in order to complement the above, you may opt to join the following workshops, which will be offered at an additional charge of 50 USD per session and held during the time intervals, when you have your free time, as per the aforementioned daily schedule (9:30 am - 11:00 am and 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm). The minimum number of participants per workshop is 3 and the best results are upon attending three sessions.

Healing through deep relaxation

Healing your emotional body

Learn how to transform negative thoughts and emotions that lodge in the physical body resulting in disease and suffering. Explore the possibility of breaking free from your past and its old emotional patterns.

Specialized yoga therapy (non-medical batches)

For people with any kind of health problems such as cervical, spondylosis, knee, lower back, shoulder, neck issues, diabetes, thyroid, and so forth. Prior appointment can be arranged.

Yoga for seniors

Learn to modify the basic postures to meet the need of your maturing body. This includes chair yoga, back care, joint care, fall prevention, strength, and balancing body and mind.

Yoga for stress reduction

Learn how to relieve tension, stress and stagnant energy, eliminating negative behavioral patterns, and restlessness through specifically selected yoga postures and breathing exercises.

The price of this retreat, except when opting for the Dorm package, includes one full day trip to Meherngarh and Jaswant Thada, and one half day trip to Bishnoi village where handicrafts are made. Transportation and meals are included in the price of room bookings. You will also find time to squeeze in some shopping in the city.

    Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Sivananda Yoga)

    Karoona is a compassionate and intuitive teacher of Hatha yoga, pranayama, meditation, and yogic philosophy. After having a long and successful career of almost 20 years in the real estate business, Karoona found her hearts calling to renounce it all and study yoga at the Sivananda Yoga Dhanvantari Ashram. As a team, she is most passionate about teaching beginner and intermediate yoga classes and also enjoy taking workshops on healing meditation, pranayama, laughter yoga, pre-natal yoga, yoga Nidra, deep relaxation, kids yoga, and healthy Sattvic cooking, and mythology story-telling.

  • Neelkanth

    Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (Sivananda Yoga)

    Neelkanth inherited the gift of yoga and pranayama at a very tender age of four. He would practice these ancient techniques every morning with his grandfather in a little village in Rajasthan. He went on to become a media advertising manager, serving in the industry for over three decades. He rediscovered his love for yoga while on a pilgrimage and visit to the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwanthri Ashram with his wife, Karoona. Both of them have now fully dedicated their lives to spreading the message of Hatha yoga, peace, love, and laughter wherever their journey takes them.

Bijolai Palace Jodhpur in Rajasthan is a sprawling royal palace built in the 19th century by the ruling family of Marwar-Jodhpur. It is nestled snugly amidst the Aravali hills surrounded by its very own private lake, the Bijolai Lake, creating an oasis in the desert. The living space in the palace comprises of 30 rooms and thematic suites that are elegantly appointed with thoughtful amenities.

The living spaces at the palace either overlook the verdant courtyards and gardens, or the rustic expansive landscape of the Aravalis or the Bijolai lake itself. It exceeds the bespoke requirements of an arbiter of taste looking for leisure retreats. Wake up to the soothing and refreshing notes of the santoor, and while you head out for a little walk in the morning by the lake, you are sure to be astonished by the family of geese (101 of them) that have made the Bijolai lake their humble abode.

The palace is nestled in a small range of the Aravalis, just about eight kilometers from the center of Jodhpur, fleetingly close to the city, yet far enough for the nights to be quiet giving you a good night’s sleep and a promise of fresh clean morning air.
