The school has 18 spacious rooms that are facing the river and with an attached toilet. All rooms are well equipped with basic and essential amenities like hot and cold water facility in the toilets, a ceiling fan, comfortable mattress and proper quilt, table kettle, queen size separate beds, study table, and a cupboard. The rooms are properly ventilated.

The school washroom has western toilets fitted with hot and cold water and has enough space if you need to wash your clothes, and they have a separate space for a pressing table with an electric iron box in case someone wants to press and iron their clothes after laundry.

Certifications

Upon completion of this yoga teacher training, students will receive A certificate affiliated with Yoga Alliance USA. Registration with Yoga Alliance USA provides a globally recognized credential.

Yoga Bhawna Mission - Uttarkashi is a residential yoga teacher training school in India registered with Yoga Alliance USA, RYS 200 and RYS 500 and a venture of Ujjain Yoga Life Society (UYLS). The core objective of the yoga teacher training courses is to provide and facilitate an understanding of yoga and its related practices from basic to intermediate to advanced level, in an indigenous yet with a modern approach which includes practice as well as theory.

Whether you are a novice to this unique science or just a beginner; at Yoga Bhawna Mission, you will be able to develop, upgrade your skill, and your understanding of yoga to a level that you will be confident enough to teach yoga professionally.

Yoga Bhawna's Mission

The mission is to provide aspirants an easy access to the knowledge where everybody is included and nobody in any way is excluded. It has been observed that many of the genuine and bonafide candidates have been unable to receive yoga training because of the excessively high prices for a course at different yoga schools. Yoga Bhawna Mission wants to span their reach to all these financially debarred people to reach them for the training they need.

Yoga Bhawna Mission is also aiming to facilitate these training of yoga to a maximum number of people. Yoga Bhawna Mission courses are a combination of a different branch of yoga along with their several disciplines. The combination of all these various disciplines will be imparted to the participants so that they are able to create a band of confident, knowledgeable, and self-reliant yoga teachers. Yoga Bhawna Mission's prime objective is to create the motivation among their participants to teach yoga with the spirit of Seva (selfless service).

Course eligibility

The applicants should have a background in yoga and would pledge to teach according to what he or she has been given including his or her personal experiences. The candidate has to submit their health condition (self-signed) report.

Teaching technique

Yoga Bhawna Mission's teaching techniques are as per the guidelines set by the Yoga Alliance USA and follow the standard parameter. Apart from this, Yoga Bhawna Mission emphasizes on their research based on teaching methodology; while the curriculum is based on the ancient various yogic textbook and their faculty enriched experience.

  • Raja yoga: Pratyahara and Dharana

Examination

There will be a test in the last week of the course. The content of the examination will vary for each course. Only the successful candidate will be awarded the title of Yoga Prashikshak.

There will be one full day of Himalayan sightseeing excursion or picnic on any Sunday or free day with the Yoga Bhawna Mission team that includes meals and transportation.

All of Yoga Bhawna Mission's ex-students have repeatedly told them that this trip is the best part of their stay at Yoga Bhawan Mission, an opportunity to use their hands and feet for a fruitful purpose, get closer to nature, and learn from her. It is an immensely therapeutic experience in itself and numerous yogis have told thwm how their stresses just disappeared as they were so close to nature.

    Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200 (Hatha Yoga)

    Rohit Kumar has an academic background with two bachelors and master from Indian universities and is a registered yoga teacher from Yoga alliance USA. For over last more than sixteen years he has been into yoga as a practitioner as well as a propagator. Starting his journey of yoga and academics from his home town he has extensively visited all over India for yoga classes. At Yoga Bhawna Mission the teacher training courses are conducted under his care.

    Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (Yoga)

    He is one of the pioneers of Yoga Bhawna Mission, he has an academic background of diploma in fashion technology and later pursued his yoga education and is a registered yoga teacher from Yoga alliance USA. At Yoga Bhawna Mission he has philosophical approach towards education, management, team work, planning and future reflection. He has a strong merit of working for longer hours and quite often to odd hours which has helped this Yoga Bhawna Mission function properly. His presence is the base of Yoga Bhawna Mission.

This yoga teacher training will take place at Yoga Bhawna Mission Uttarkashi School. The school is located at a convenient distance from Rishikesh and takes only five to six hours of scenic journey. Beautifully located on the banks of Bhagirathi river, this school is four kilometers away before the hustle and bustle and traffic jams of Uttarkashi town.

The highlight of the school is the high range Himalayan Mountain view and also the chance to practice yoga at the bank of Ganges River. The Ganges River is so divine and offers you a mystic experience of a lifetime. Not only that, the Shiva Temple in the school premises is another highlight of the school.

Yoga Bhawna Mission strictly serves vegetarian food that is freshly prepared and are well dietary balanced and recommended for yogis. There will be two big meals: one in the morning after the asana class and then in the evening after the evening yoga session. In between in the afternoon, there will be light fruit-juice and herbal tea.

It will be a strict but very tasty meal recommended for a yogic lifestyle. However, in certain situations, individual requirements will also be taken into consideration. Yoga Bhawna Mission gives preference to locally cultivated and organic vegetables, fruits, pulses as per the availability, and also, occasionally, the kitchen team will experiment with a varied cuisine of India.

Your meal portions are full of sprout, chapatti, rice, vegetable curry, green leaves, and salad. They also add sweets, papadum, and chatni occasionally. During the festival and special occasions, Yoga Bhawna Mission adds a different taste to your meals such as sweets and dishes.

During the full day trip, Yoga Bhawna Mission will provide meals in the local restaurant where you will go. However, if Yoga Bhawna Mission brings the team for a picnic, then you will prepare the food onsite, together with the team.

At Yoga Bhawna Mission, you will have the opportunity to spend one hour daily to the nearby surroundings. The school is just adjacent to Bhagirathi River and one can have the privilege to practice on the riverbank or in the lap of the forest and mountain. You will be guided by the resident team on alternate Sundays for the mountain walk, followed by a village walk or trekking, and river walk and outdoor game such as volleyball.

You will also have the opportunity to enjoy Ayurvedic massage, Do-Sirodhara, Panchkarma sessions, and steam bath at additional costs in the nearby Ayurvedic massage center; at a distance of about three kilometers from the school.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), where you can take a domestic flight into Jolly Grant Airport (DED). From Jolly Grant Airport (DED), you can take a taxi to the school or you can go to Dehradun bus stand and take the bus for Uttarkashi.

Alternatively you can ask Yoga Bhawna Mission's travel desk team to assist you in the booking of a private car or taxi from Jolly Grant Airport (DED) to the training center at a cost of 60 USD. You can also share the private taxi cost with other students who are coming for the same course and on the same date with the same flight.

Jolly Grant Airport (DED) is a very small airport and only limited flights are arriving and in past, most of the students prefer to avail of the complimentary free service of airport transfer to the school. Please note that the airport transfer and dropping will be for group arrivals and group departure. The maximum size of a group in a taxi will be three (small taxi) and five, in case of van. No individual transfer from the airport will be entertained.

It is advisable to arrive one day in advance from the course starting date so that all the students can be clubbed together at the airport from the group pick up. Yoga Bhawna Mission strongly recommends being in touch with them so that they can guide with your flight booking for Jolly Grant Airport (DED) so that you can book the same flight with other students from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to Jolly Grant Airport (DED).

If someone wants an independent pickup or is coming early, more than one day from the course start date, then Yoga Bhawna Mission can arrange a pick up at a nominal extra cost, which will be approximately 60 USD.

Arrival by bus

You can either come to Dehradun or Rishikesh from New Delhi and it is strongly advised that you inform the Yoga Bhawna Mission Travel desk team in advance so that they can help you with the arrangement of a bus ticket from New Delhi. Please note that the bus ticket is not included in the fee and will be charged extra.

Yoga Bhawna Mission's dedicated travel desk will assist you while booking your bus ticket. Please note that if you are coming from New Delhi by bus then ideally you should get down to Dehradun, but if you want to come to Rishikesh, then you need to advise Yoga Bhawna Mission team in advance so that they can arrange a pickup from Rishikesh with a nominal extra charge. Please check the taxi fare in advance from the team. Upon arrival at Rishikesh, if you are coming in one day in advance, the team will arrange a group transfer as a complimentary free service.

If you are more adventurous and want to explore by your own from New Delhi to Dehradun or Rishikesh, then please follow these instructions:

  • Depending on the time of your plane arrival in Delhi, taking a bus can be a tricky option. The Volvo buses from Delhi to Dehradun stop running around 8 p.m. If your plane arrives in Delhi in the evening, you will have to get a hotel for the night and then make your way to Delhi Inter-state Bus Terminus (ISBT) in the morning.
  • From the airport, get a prepaid taxi to take you to Delhi ISBT. You are strongly advised to only go to the government-approved taxi stand located right outside the airport exit. The price from the airport to Delhi ISBT will be approximately 700 INR in general.
  • Once you arrive at Delhi ISBT, navigate your way to the bus station’s ticket stands on the second level; go up the escalator. Go to the Uttarakhand State booth and ask when the next Volvo bus will be leaving for Dehradun. The bus ticket approximately costs between 800 to 900 INR. The normal bus ticket will cost you between 300 to 400 INR.
  • You should get off the bus at Dehradun bus station, which is usually their last stop if their destination is Dehradun. Once you arrive at Dehradun bus station, you can take a local bus for Uttarkashi, the ticket approximately costs between 250 to 300 INR.

Arrival by train

You can book a Shatabdi express train which runs every day from New Delhi to Dehradun railways station. You are advised to inform Yoga Bhawna’s team in advance so that the team will assist you in booking a railway ticket for your smooth arrival followed by an escorted guide. Please note that the train ticket is not included in the fee and will be charged extra as per the railway fare.

  • Free transfers to the school is only applicable for groups
  • All students have to arrive one day in advance from the course starting dates at the airport/bus stand/railway station

  • Bus terminal pickup will be from Dehardun bus stand.
  • You need to reach all these pickup points by 2 p.m.
