Yala Collective have prepared a harmonious and fully-balanced relaxing and refreshing yoga program that will gradually guide the journey. They invite you to embark to the journey which sets off the north in the spectacular natural reserve park. The retreat will be all about meditation, tours, and yoga. The classes are mainly held in English with the possibility of classes available in other languages according to guests’ needs (French, Spanish, or Italian).

During this retreat, you will stay in Casa Los Naranjos for the first four nights, and in Casa La Fe in Cartagena for the next three nights.

Casa Los Naranjos

Casa Los Naranjos will be your home for the first five-day yoga wellness immersion with the stunning combination of wild jungles and paradisaical beaches appealing to sea and river lovers, hikers, and adventurous alike. Located in the crossing of the the River Piedra and the crystalline Caribbean sea, neighboring the spectacular Parque Tayrona. La Casa is backed with a rich dense rainforest and impressive arid mountains shaded by coconut palms.

Los Naranjos is the perfect private home for a natural retreat offering the most powerful Caribbean landscapes and the calming winds of the sacred Sierra Nevada.

Yala Collective invites you to embark to "Colombia's joy of life" journey which sets off north in the spectacular natural reserve park Tayrona located at the tip of the sacred Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, where Wayuu and Kogui indigenous groups live.

The journey continues with a delightful stay at the legendary walled treasure of Cartagena de Indias and shaken up by the culturally rich Carnaval de Barranquilla, surprisingly, the second-largest carnival in the world, celebrated since the 19th century (a UNESCO heritage honoring its magnificent folkloric expression).

Yin and Yang practice

Francesca and Carolina have prepared a harmonious and fully balanced relaxing and refreshing yoga program that will gradually guide the journey. The yoga program is adapted to all levels of practitioners. The program is suitable for the very best beginners, as well as the advanced who wish to continue deepening in this rich millenary science.

Early morning will be all about meditation, energy balancing, and breathing techniques. You will then practice a full Yang sequence, Ashtanga yoga, with all the focus on alignment, energy flow, and asana adaptation. In the afternoon, you will delve into Yin and Restorative practices, as well as auto massages classes that will balance out all the energies.

Tayrona National Park

The Tayrona National Park is one of the wildest and intensely biologically diverse of South America. Monkeys, red squirrels, collared peccaries, jaguars, and 200 species of birds ranging from Caribbean toucans to red woodpeckers, and many species that will surely surprise you.

Tayrona grips the Caribbean coast in a jungly bear hug at the foot of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. The park stretches along the coast from the Bahía de Taganga near Santa Marta to the mouth of the Río Piedras, 35 kilometers to the east, and covers some 12,000 hectares of land and 3000 hectares of sea.

Cartagena

Cartagena de Indias is the undisputed treasure of the Caribbean coast, a fairy-tale queen of magical realism, legends, and superbly restored beauty in the midst of an impressive 13 kilometers of centuries-old colonial fortress walls. The historic old town seems like a fairy-tale maze of cobbled alleys, balconies sprouted with colorful bougainvillea bushes, and massive churches that decorate the plazas.

Carnival of Barranquilla

Barranquilla, where your teacher Carolina Daza was born and raised, is Colombia’s fourth-largest city, a busy commercial port that has served as a melting pot of cultures and religions.

Famous Colombians residents include Nobel Prize-winning writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Latina star actress Sofia Vergara; and Shakira, famous for her singing and dancing. Be prepare to dance, live, and laugh. Do not miss this opportunity of feeling and living for one week the purest Colombian magical realism.

  • Francesca Lo Cascio

    Over the years, Francesca progressively refined her studies in Vinyasa yoga in India at Richikesh's Tattvaa Centre and in Paris with Mika de Brito and Gerard Arnauld, focusing her practice in a very strong Yang approach. During her travel to Bali, she followed a training on chakra balancing techniques with Jana Johnson. Moved to the US, she deepened her practice and teaching on Yin with Paulie Zing. Happy to follow yoga path, she currently focuses her attention and studies around psychology, bioenergy, and meditation.

  • Carolina Daza

    Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (Ashtanga Yoga)

    Carolina, also known as "the global yogini" is a multi-faceted artist and globe trotter. She completed her Yoga Alliance 500-hour Ashtanga yoga teacher training in Paris with Gérald Disse and Linda Munro at Ashtanga Yoga Paris and has been leading retreats for numerous years. Her teachers of pranayama, Ayurveda, and yoga philosophy are Sri OP Tiwari, Suddhir Tiwari of Kaivalyadhama Institute, and Smta Hansayi Jayadeva from The Yoga Institute in Mumbai.

The retreat will take place in Santa Marta and Cartagena, Colombia.
