During this retreat you can stay in private or shared accommodations. Wild Atlantic Way is a very small intimate retreat setting of eight guests. There are four double or twin bedrooms and two bathrooms that the majority of guests will be sharing. Most people come on their own and they will allocate a room with a person of similar age and same sex. There is a facility to have a single room at an extra cost if it's available.
Guests will enjoy the experience of a traditional Irish farmhouse with beautiful views of the famous "Old Head" and of course the Atlantic Ocean. The original farmhouse hosts a country style kitchen where you can help yourself to fresh fruit and light refreshments or simply relax by the fire and enjoy the view over the Old Head onto the Atlantic Ocean.
During the restoration, a double height, under-floor heated yoga extension was added. This is connected to the light filled dining area, a space where you can enjoy lovely two or three course meals.
Let go and flow, a discovery of fluidity.
The opening ceremony is on Friday evening at 5 p.m., followed by a 120-minute gentle Hatha yoga class, meditation, and relaxation after dinner.
The theme for Saturday morning is 'Getting in the Flow'. The morning asana practice includes sun salutations for 120 minutes and morning meditation for 30 minutes. Brunch will be followed by free time.
The evening asana practice is comprised of Hatha yoga with a focus on diving into stillness, followed by meditation, drumming circle with guest Fergus O’Connor, and relaxation after dinner.
'Becoming one with the Ocean' is Sunday's theme. After an optional 30-minute session of meditation and pranayama, you will have a 120-minute asana or movement practice. The closing ceremony will take place after brunch.
Alison is a yoga teacher, authentic living mentor, and writer. Her yoga (asana) foundations are in the Hatha and Vinyasa systems but since completing her two Yoga Teacher Diplomas she has traveled extensively, attending trainings, workshops, yoga conferences and retreats to bring an eclectic and extensive blend of yoga styles and experiences to her students.
Nigel qualified in Liquid Flow Yoga with Simon Park after discovering the beautiful feeling of connection flow that this style of yoga brings to Ashtanga based Vinyasa Flow yoga. This is a slow and mindful, yet strong and precise yoga, in tune with the natural flow of energy within us, supported by breath and guiding our movement.
