Alojamiento

Florence House sits rock solid within the sea air and surrounding wild landscape. The house is set on six acres within an area of outstanding natural beauty, on the edge of the South Downs National Park. It has views of Seaford Head and Seaford Head Golf Course. It is a much-loved venue for life enhancing workshops, retreats, weddings, and conferences. The house offers exclusive occupancy, creating your own mood and atmosphere.

The beautiful interior of the house itself, the abundant gardens, the proximity to the sea, and the wildness of the Downs, make Florence House ideal for retreats and workshops involving personal development and transformation. There are magical places within the gardens, ensuring relaxation, time out, and beautiful places for walks nearby.

Ten years ago, Florence House was beautifully refurbished with a large meeting room, lounge, dining room, oak paneled study, and accommodation for up to 24 people. Each room is individually decorated to create a calm and simple space for you to enjoy a great night’s sleep, free from TV or radio distractions. There are a choice of rooms from singles to triples, based on your needs. All bedrooms have lovely scenic views, either of the downs or the estate.

Vernyoga - Yoga, Fitness, and Therapies Yoga Retreat UK Program

This retreat is open to those who have some previous experience of flow yoga, even if only a little, or of Vernette's classes. During this retreat, Vernette will guide you through a variety of yoga practices and styles with pranayama, meditation, prana dance inspirations, and sound work.

She will introduce you to aspects of philosophy and practices that are often overlooked during general classes. There will be the opportunity for you to have direct contact with the teacher and receive guidance for your personal practice and deepen your knowledge.

The program will include five yoga classes in total, two in the morning and three in the evening. Morning sessions consist of an active, energetic, dynamic awakening yogasana flow practice of Vernette’s dynamic "Earth Core Flow" blend of styles.

Evening sessions consist of a more relaxing, restorative yoga practice, including lunar sequences, Yin postures, pranayama, meditation, mantra, and yoga Nidra to truly restore your being. There may be a special evening surprise event, yoga Nidra and meditation or an open workshop, or a question-and-answer session on all aspects of yoga including philosophy, history, anatomy, style and technique, meditation, and sound work class.

Vernette Butler
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200 (Yoga)
Vernette's passions are yoga and anatomy of yoga, and she is privileged to be able to teach these things. She inspires students to take the step and become teachers themselves. In her last 14 years of teaching, she has trained and studied with some of the best national and international teachers. The Vernyoga recipe for health and well-being includes dynamic Hatha, Vinyasa, Sahaja flow, Sivananda, Kundalini, Yin, Mantra, Nada, Bhakti yoga, but also sense of humor. Reiki is Vernette's second passion and she is also a Reiki master teacher.

This retreat will take place in Seaford, East Sussex shire, on the south coast of England. The location is the perfect base for you to explore the Southdowns and the coastline. The Seaford Head and its magnificent seaviews are within walking distance.

¿Cómo llegar?

Driving directions from Worthing or Brighton

  • Travelling on A27, follow signs to Newhaven / Lewes.
  • At roundabout after the rail crossing, take A26 to Newhaven / Seaford.
  • Alternatively, follow the coast road A259 from Brighton to Newhaven.
  • In Newhaven, follow sign to the left for Seaford A259.
  • Carry on A259 until you reach Seaford and a mini roundabout on your right.
  • Stay on A259 going out of town in the direction of Eastbourne.
  • Look out for a church almost immediately on your right
  • Take the third turning on your right after the church, this is Southdown Road.
  • Helpful markers at this junction are: a traffic light, a red postbox, and red phone box.
  • Go straight down the hill towards Seaford Head and the golf course.
  • At the bottom of the hill at Southdown corner, you will see a large grey house on the hill, which is Florence House.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Gatwick Airport (LGW). From there, take the train from the south terminal to Lewes and connect to Seaford. The journey time is one hour. There will be taxis at Seaford Station. It will take just five minutes by taxi from the station to Florence House.

Arrival by train

From Victoria station, there are train rides every 30 minutes. Change at Lewes for Seaford. The ride takes approximately one hour and 20 minutes.
