This advanced yoga teachers’ training course is a unique course, designed for only the most serious and dedicated yoga teachers and aspirants. The student of this course should be a regular practitioner of basic Hatha yoga. The course aims to emphasize a deeper understanding of classical Hatha yoga, incorporating a 75% practical and 25% theoretical course structure.
During this course, you will be staying at a simple and comfortable accommodation in the Vasishta Yoga Ashram. Most students enrolled in the course will be expected to share a room with one or two other trainees. However, students can also request for single accommodation and depending on the availability, this can be provided at an additional cost. There are Wi-Fi connection, printer, and telephone available in the ashram.
This yoga teacher training is a unique program for national and international yoga students from different traditions of yoga to experience the intensive and spiritual learning of traditional yoga. For many years, Vasishta Yoga has trained several yoga teachers all over the world. The focus of this course is to bring a practitioner's level to the teacher level and eventually, the master level, both in life and yoga.
The aim of the training is to prepare students to be competent and confident yoga masters whilst guiding them to deepen their own understanding of yoga and its practical application in everyday life.
The main purpose of advanced yoga practice is to help the student develop mentally, physically, and spiritually. The systematic and regular practice of classical asanas, pranayama, kriyas, mudras, bandhas, and deeper relaxation techniques will help to remove internal blockages and is a deep internal cleansing process. The three main aspects covered by the course are physical, pranic, and mental.
The physical aspect of the course aims to teach different advance asanas on a deeper level, incorporating special sequences and different styes and variations of asanas. Special techniques will be taught that allow the performance of complex asanas in a simple way.
Asanas not only increase physical fitness and flexibility of the body, but also help overcome physical blockages such as tension and stiffness of muscles. Each student will be expected to participate in daily practice (including morning practice on weekends).
The second part of the course will develop the student’s deeper practice on a pranic level. You will develop advanced pranayama practice to cleanse the nadis (energy channels) and learn how to release the inner blockages in chakras through chakra purification techniques. Advanced techniques of asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha, as well as various kriyas for cleansing the internal organs, are the special contribution of this course.
Finally, the course will also look at the mind through different ancient Tantric meditation and the techniques of Kriya yoga meditation, which help cleanse and strengthen the manomaya kosha. You will also practice mantra chanting, selected part of yoga philosophy, and basic and advanced yoga Nidra.
This course is offered once every two years in India for a very limited and select number of students only. The training will incorporate a 70% practical and 30% theoretical course structure. The daily schedule includes seven to eight hours of classes a day and every weekend is given to the student to develop personal practice or free time.

This course will take place in Kerala, India. The yoga ashram is located in Kozhikode, which is close to the Kochi countryside, South India. The students are provided with the perfect environment to immerse themselves deeply into the study and practice of traditional Hatha yoga.

All meals during the course are prepared according to the strict standard of a nutritionally sound yogic diet. Diet plays a very important role in the successful practice of yoga and has an intimate connection with the mind. Meat, fish, and eggs are therefore not allowed. You will enjoy pure vegetarian meals which are fresh, organic, natural, and of high quality.
