The retreat will be hosted at the refined and exclusive Tale Hotel. It is a ten-room hotel only to guarantee intimacy and silence to the guests. Moreover, a breathtaking view is guaranteed as the hotel faces both the Mediterranean Sea and the Vulcan.

Upaya Yoga Teacher Training Yoga Holiday Italy Program

At the sunrise, in this secluded location, Upaya Yoga Teacher Training will guide you through the revitalizing practice of pranayama (breathing exercises), mantra (chanting), and asana (Hatha style). After a delicious Italian breakfast, you will be free to relax at the swimming pool or to take a walk in the surrounding cherry tree gardens.

Late in the morning, specific workshops will take place in a playful atmosphere. You will gain tips on more advanced asanas and you will learn how to overcome personal difficulties. To support further, the internal process of relaxation a daily yoga Nidra session will take place in the afternoon. This is a guided relaxation technique which, through the complete relaxation of the body, aims to develop a major control over stress and emotions that is a calm mind.

At sunset time, either asana practice or meditation (Osho dynamic meditation, Kundalini meditation, Tratak, sound meditation, Sufi meditation) will take place to rebalance and restore your energy at the end of the day. Finally, in the typical fragrance and warmness of the Sicilian summer evenings, you will enjoy a Satsang on yoga philosophy.

Given the excellent weather condition, all the activities will be held in the scenic terraces or in the garden, this will enhance the capacity of relaxation and introspection of the practitioners. In the very unlikely case of bad weather, an indoor hall will be used. The retreat is addressed to those who are searching for silence and introspection through the practice of yoga and meditation in a pure and natural setting.

Practitioners of any age and level are very welcome. The program is designed to release stress, toxins, and emotions from the body through an authentic and conscious hatha yoga practice. On a physiological level, the asana practice improves the blood circulation, more oxygen then reaches the muscles and tissues promoting a faster cellular regeneration.

This process, together with the early morning breathing exercises (pranayama), also contributes to rebalance your masculine (Ha / sun) and feminine (Tha / moon) energy. A proper pranayama practice will allow the vital force (prana) to move freely and deeply through the whole body generating a major sense of awareness within the self. In other words, by controlling the breath, you can control the mind.

Eventually, the awakening of the kundalini energy may happen through the dynamic meditations. These techniques by the repetition of specific movements aim to activate the nadis (body energy channels) and to rise the energy stored at the base of the spine, passing through all the seven chakras in order to reach Sahasrara, at the top of the head where the enlightenment manifests. The classes will be given in English and all instructions will be translated into Italian whether requested by any of the guests.

Krishna Krishnaji
Yoga Alliance International (Yoga)
Upaya Yoga was founded by Krishna, who has a vast experience in imparting lessons in yoga under its different forms and styles. He is a certified yoga teacher from Yoga Alliance USA and Yoga Alliance International India. His yogic art forms come out as a combination of Ashtanga, Shivananda, and Hatha yoga. Krishna's attraction towards the traditional meditation became strong when he started to attend the Osho international meditation resort in Pune.
Alida Maugeri
Alida is Italian originally from Catania. Her journey into yoga started four years ago in London to eventually bring her to India in the search for a superior meaning beyond this now worldwide acclaimed word yoga. She now firmly believes that yoga is a secure way for self-discovery, personal growth, and positive changing. Alida’s class aim to guide the practitioners closer to the self by moving into a flow where breath and asana can harmoniously merge together.

Piedimonte Etneo is an ancient and characteristic village made by lave stones where life still flows slowly. The natural scenery is breathtaking. Its location is perfect to explore the natural beauties of the Mount Etna and the reach variety of vineyards and wine cellars. Also, the popular and charming villages of Taormina and Castemola are at an easy distance, Catania and the beaches are only 30 minutes away.

This retreat includes daily breakfast. As the season allows to prepare several dishes with fresh and local vegetables, at lunchtime a delicious vegetarian buffet will be available.
