In the midst of busy lives, the constant “doing” in your life can really wear you down. That is why True Education Nature invites you to "The Elements of Connection" retreat. Join Lisa Feder and Janice Samuelson for a week-long yoga retreat on Lake Atitlan in Sololá Department, Guatemala. You will embark on a journey where you can explore beautiful and exotic surroundings as well as inquire into your inner landscape. Spend the week undoing and let go the busyness of all the "doing" in your life.
During this yoga retreat, you will be accommodated in an intimate full-service lakefront hotel and yoga center on Lake Atitlan prepared by True Nature Education. All rooms have breathtaking views, natural decor and outdoor spaces. The property has lush gardens, a full-service spa area with a hot tub and a sauna, a fair-trade boutique, a juice bar and many places to hide away with a good book. You will stay in a room that will be shared with one to two person guests.

Please check with True Nature Education if you have questions about the availability of laundry services.
At many of True Nature Education centers, child care is available during sessions. Please let True Nature Education know if you would like to bring a child with you so they can let you know about room and meal costs.
The pace of the week will be completely relaxed with time to practice yoga, eat delicious and fresh meals, explore gorgeous surroundings, make noise, be quiet, rest, laugh, write, sing, dance as well as bond. Each day you will be offered a Hatha and Kundalini practice so you can explore different perspectives. True Nature Education trusts that you will return home with many new points of view and a sense that “being” can be even more interesting than “doing”.
True Nature Education believes in power and presence and peace. They love laughter, do not take themselves too seriously and is passionate about sharing the practice because True Nature Education has seen how vital and renewing it can be. This retreat is for men and women, experienced yoga practitioners and newbies or even the yoga-curious. All practices will be accessible to all levels of fitness and experience.
The retreat will be held at an intimate full-service lakefront hotel and yoga center on Lake Atitlan in Sololá Department, Guatemala. Lake Atitlan is quite safe and the center has never had any issues with safety. True Nature Education recommends that visitors use private shuttles for moving around Guatemala. The colorful chicken buses are quite an experience, but unless you are an experienced traveler, True Nature Education does not recommend it. Guatemala is known for its beautiful textiles and handicrafts. There are many opportunities to pick up fair trade, artisan treasures.

True Nature Education's centers do accommodate most special dietary restrictions like allergies, vegan and non-gluten diets. They serve wholesome, fresh, organic meals that are simple and delicious when possible. The centers in Guatemala do have some of the alternative foods you enjoy in the USA but generally speaking, the diet in Latin America is simple and basic.
If you are concerned you can bring some alternative snacks to supplement your meals. For all locations, if you have dietary restrictions, please be sure True Nature Education is aware of this and they will forward the information to your destination so it can be prepared for you. The water in Guatemala is safe to drink. At the retreat centers, there is unlimited filtered water, so you can fill your water bottles.
Most meals have a protein source (eggs, beans, cheese, nuts etc.). If you are on a high protein diet please let True Nature Education know in advance so they can have something for you. It may be a good idea to bring a protein bar for each day of your retreat. Some centers do offer meat options (some are included in basic tuition and others are at an additional fee).
If you like to snack, True Nature Education recommends bringing some special snacks with you if you would like to, but this is not necessary. The meals are abundant and they are confident that you will be well fed. If you have extreme allergies or strict dietary needs, you may want to bring some supplemental foods so you do not have to worry if you will have what you need. Each of True Nature Education's centers serves organic fruits and vegetables when possible.
Most of True Nature Education centers have alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine. Usually, smoothies and fresh juices are offered as well as sodas, tea and coffee. Extra drinks are not included in the packages and prices vary from center to center. Depending on your arrival time, you may have time to tour the center and then have dinner. Dinner will always be available even for late arrivals.
