Day 1, 11 January

Upon arriving in Sri Lanka at 12:35, have a journey to Sigiriya, in heart of the cultural triangle and check into the secluded eco-lodge in Pidurangala. Relax and unwind after your flight, preparing yourself for the adventure ahead. In the evening, spot the shy and seldom nocturnal loris and fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle. (half board)

Day 2, 12 January

Discover the magnificent Lion Rock of Sigiriya, one of Sri Lanka’s fascinating UNESCO protected World Heritage sites. Take a cycle ride there, walk through the water gardens, then up the steps past the beautiful frescoes and enjoy the spectacular views at the summit. The day ends with a guided hike of the neighboring Pidurangala Rock and a meditation on the summit in the sunset. (half board)

Day 3, 13 January

Leave Sigiriya behind and head upcountry. Stopover at the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens with its 60 hectares, the largest and most impressive botanic gardens in Sri Lanka. Admire the fine collection of orchids and tropical flora and take a yoga break on the lush lawns before the drive continues to Nuwara Eliya, the heart of tea country. At an elevation of nearly 2000 meters, it offers the best of tropical abundance and pleasant cool mountain climate. You will have the chance to visit a tea factory on the way to Nuwara Eliya, to see the processes and taste the result of making the world famous Ceylon tea. (half board)

Day 4, 14 January

Spend the day at Horton Plains National Park, hike and enjoy a yoga session in the shadows of some of Sri Lanka’s highest mountains. The surprising diversity of the landscape is matched by the wide variety of wildlife. The journey continues to the hill country village Beragala, checking into the resort (half board)

Day 5, 15 January

When leaving the hill country to visit the archeological site of Buduruwagala. The beautiful, 1000-year-old, rock-cut Buddha figures include the tallest on the island. Stop for a delicious lunch at the lodge before the next highlight of the tour. Experience the incredible world of wildlife on a safari in Yala National Park. After this long and exciting day, arrive at the eco lodge Kahandamodara, your tranquil home for the next days. (full board)

Day 6, 16 January

Wake up to the sounds of birds and watch the resident peacocks as they strut across the land. Start the day in the yoga shala next to the swimming pool. The daily program for the next four days include two yoga / meditation sessions, walks on the secluded wide beach, relaxing swims in the pool, and delicious home-made meals at the sea sand restaurant. In addition, enjoy 2 free Ayurvedic massages during your stay, and a couple of trips to nearby attractions. (full board)

Day 7, 17 January

Today’s trip is a journey to Rekawa Beach to watch turtles as they struggle ashore at night to lay their eggs on the beach. (full board)

Day 8, 18 January

Today’s trip is spending parts of the day at a peaceful bay, bath in the sun, and swim in the sea. Take your complimentary treatment. Enjoy yoga and meditation. (full board)

Day 9, 19 January

Today’s trip is morning cycle ride to Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary, an extensive area of wetland with lagoons, mangroves, and scrub jungle. Go on a pontoon ride and watch the apparently endless birdlife. The eventful and rejuvenating trip comes to an end. Return to the airport in Colombo in the evening and head back home full of impressions and experiences. (full board)
