Immerse yourself in Iceland’s awe-inspiring landscapes and magical Northern Lights and breathe in the pure mountain air of this unspoiled land. Whether it is cool and creative culture or mesmerizing vistas and active outdoor adventure you seek, Iceland is where you will find it. With its abundance of mountains, volcanoes, glaciers, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, and dramatic terrain, Iceland is truly an outdoor enthusiast’s natural paradise!
During the holiday, you will be staying at two different hotels which are Reykjavik City Center Hotel and Hotel Ranga in the South Coast Iceland. You will be staying at either shared or single accommodations.
This hotel is located in the heart of Reykjavik, capital of Iceland. City Center Hotel is a three-star high quality accommodation with an outstanding location situated close to many restaurants and clubs, which offer the customers exceptional service, quality, and value. The hotel has 30 rooms with modern and classic amenities such as, free high speed wireless internet access, hair dryer, mini-bar, coffee and tea maker, telephone with free local calls, and LCD TV with satellite. All rooms have bathrooms with a shower or a bathtub.
This hotel offers 51 luxurious and cozy rooms, including the renowned continental suites and a master royal suite. All beautiful rooms are designed for relaxation after a long day of adventure and taking part in various attractions and activities. They include television, free Wi-Fi, telephone, bathroom amenities, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers, coffee and tea-maker, minibar, a 24-hour room service, laundry, and wake-up service. All of the rooms are non-smoking area.
You will spend the week traveling and hiking throughout Reykjavik and Iceland’s south coast with excursions to Hellisheidarvirkjun, Reykjadular Valley, the world famous Golden Circle including Thingvellir National Park, Oxararfoss waterfall, Gullfoss waterfall, and Crater Kerid or volcanic crater lake.
You will get up close and personal to the world famous waterfall Seljandsfoss and enjoy a half day adventurous hike to on Solheimajokull Glacier. You will also visit Skogafoss waterfall and explore the incredible black sand beach of Reynisfjara. On this trip, you will immerse in yoga, nature, culture, and numerous outdoor activities.
You will begin each morning on the mats, enjoy hiking by day, bathe in natural geothermal spas, site-seeing by super jeep, and chase the Northern Lights by night. And after a week-long adventure retreat, you will spend your last day in the ultimate relaxation at one of Iceland’s world renowned and most visited attractions, the Blue Lagoon!
Upon your arrival to Keflavik International Airport (KEF), you will be transferred to your hotel for an early check in. At that time, you are free to spend the day exploring the Nordic City as you wish. You will meet the crew in the lobby around 6:00 p.m for a welcome circle followed by a traditional Icelandic dinner at a local restaurant.
You will experience a Northern Light's tour following dinner. Escape the city’s light pollution and come to look for the magical Northern Lights or otherwise known as Auroras Borealis. Your specialized guides will decide where to take you to maximize your chances of seeing them in all their glory. You will travel in a minibus, which means small groups and therefore personal service from the guides.
Rise and shine! You will have morning yoga practice at 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. You will also have breakfast at the hotel and wait for superjeep to pick up from the hotel at 9:30 a.m.
Your first stop is electrifying Hellisheidarvirkjun, the largest geothermal power plant in the world, located on Hengill volcano in the South of Iceland. Only 11 kilometers separate, there is Nesjavellir, the second largest geothermal power plant in Iceland.
After visiting and learning about Hellisheidarvirkjun by a super jeep, you will set out on foot for a hike in beautiful Reykjadalur valley in the vicinity of Hveragerði town.
Rise and shine! You will have morning yoga practice at 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. You will also have breakfast at the hotel and will wait for a minibus to pick you up from the hotel at 9:30 a.m.
You will visit Iceland’s most famous destination, the Golden Circle. To begin the Golden Circle route, you will start your tour with a visit to the National Park Thingvellir. The Golden Circle is the quintessential Icelandic excursion, taking in the magnificent sights of Gullfoss, Geysir, and Thingvellir. After lunch, you will head over to Gullfoss to take a look at its mesmerizing waterfall.
You end the day on the South Coast at Hotel Ranga with a traditional Icelandic group dinner and an overnight stay there in the countryside. A Northern Lights hunt will be next to the hotel as there is very little light pollution in the south. The guide will study the forecast with you to see about the chances of a Northern Lights tour for this evening.
You will take the breakfast at the hotel at your leisure. The schedule will start at 10:30 a.m. followed by glacier hike at 12:30 p.m. You will journey through the south Iceland farming lands to the black sand beaches, thundering waterfalls, powerful volcanoes, and majestic glaciers on Iceland’s south coast. The first stop is at Seljalandsfoss Waterfall where you can walk behind this magnificent wall of water.
You will end the day by returning to Hotel Rangá around 6:00 p.m. for a traditional Icelandic group dinner. The same Northern Lights procedure will be executed the same as the day before. Overnight stay in the country-side.
Rise and shine! Take the yoga session at 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. followed by breakfast at your leisure. You will be transferred to Reykjavík at 11:30 a.m. Enjoy an afternoon of leisure in Reykjavik and spend your afternoon exploring the city or taking a day of excursions.
Rise and shine! In the morning, you will have a yoga session at 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. followed by breakfast at hotel at your leisure. There wil be a pick-up for Blue Lagoon at 12:00 p.m. The tour will include admission, towel, slippers, and one drink of your choice. Blue Lagoon is one of the 25 wonders of the world. A short transfer from Reykjavik brings you to the world famous geothermal spa of the Blue Lagoon!

Enjoy the excursions to Hellisheidarvirkjun, Reykjadular Valley, the world famous Golden Circle including Thingvellir National Park, Oxararfoss waterfall, Gullfoss waterfall, and crater Kerid, the volcanic crater lake. Get up close and take a personal discovery to the world famous Waterfall Seljandsfoss, experience a half day adventurous hike to Solheimajokull glacier and Skogafoss waterfall, and explore the incredible black sand beach of Reynisfjara as part of the program.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the black sand beach of Reynisfjara. This beach features stacks of basalt columns that wall off surrounding cliffs scattered with caves. Offshore, you will see Reynisdrangar pillars, the basalt rock stacks that rise from the sea. Icelandic legend says they were once trolls turned into rock by the rising sun when they came home late after a fishing trip. You will round off this great sightseeing tour with a stop at the Skógafoss waterfall.
On a clear day, you may have a good view of the famous volcanoes Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull. When you drive under the foothills of Eyjafjallajökull, you can get a glimpse of the Westman Islands, rising steeply from the ocean just a few kilometers off the coast.
The warm waters of the Blue Lagoon are rich in minerals such as silica and sulfur and bathing in the Blue Lagoon is reputed to help some people suffering from skin diseases. Indeed, the attached Blue Lagoon Clinic is an internationally recognized psoriasis treatment center.
The water temperature in the bathing and swimming area of the lagoon averages 37 to 39 degree Celcius. The Blue Lagoon is fed by the water output from the nearby Svartsengi Geothermal Power Plant and is completely renewed every two days. The water in the lagoon is used for both recreational and medicinal bathing.
During your Golden Circle tour, you will visit Kerið, a volcanic crater lake. It was a cone volcano which erupted and emptied its magma reserve. The cone collapsed into the magma chamber and created the crater lake bordered by the strongly colored red volcanic rock.
After the excitement of Seljalandsfoss, you will prepare for your glacier hike. Sólheimajökull glacier is a spectacular tongue of ice that flows down from the Myrdalsjokull, the fourth largest glacier in Iceland that covers the infamous volcano Katla. The spectacular surroundings are marked by rugged and majestic rock formations thoroughly shaped by the glacier.
On this fun, safe, and easy to moderate glacier walk, you get to explore the wonderland of ice sculptures, water cauldrons, ridges, and deep crevasses on the breathtaking Sólheimajökull glacier. While enjoying all the features of the glacier and its spectacular surroundings, you will learn more about the behavior of glaciers and their impact on nature.
No technical requirements are needed for the tour as an experienced glacier guide will teach you how to use the basic glacier equipment, such as crampons and an ice ax which are provided for all our glacier walk tours. The unique experience of a glacier walk on one of the many retreating glaciers of the world is sure to leave the lasting memories!
The hike in is approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive, you will spend one-hour hiking on the glacier. The glacier hike is suitable for ages 12 and above and includes walking on uneven surfaces.
Gulfoss is the most famous waterfall in Iceland in the river Hvíta. Its power is inspirational and when you stand close to it, you can feel the crisp and the cool mist of glacial water on your faces.
Hellisheidarvirkjun is the largest geothermal power plant in the world. Hellisheidarvirkjun's heat and power plant constitute the largest power station of Iceland. The geothermal power plant was created to provide electricity to the city of Reykjavik as there is an increasing demand.
Reykjadalur means a "steam valley" and you will understand when you arrive. The hike takes around 45 minutes one way. On your way, you will pass by Canyon Djúpagil and Djúpagilsfoss waterfall. Once you arrive at your destination, you will find it hard to resist the opportunity to bathe in a natural hot river!
During your Golden Circle route, you will visit the National Park Thingvellir. The area holds great historical importance and has many remarkable geological features. The Eurasian and American tectonic plates dramatically protrude from the earth there.
Due to its immense beauty, and majestic nature the ancient Icelandic people created the Althingi, the Icelandic parliament, on these rocks in 930 AD making Iceland the oldest democracy in the world. Furthermore, there is a beautiful waterfall nearby as well called Öxarárfoss. Because of their immense natural and historical value, both Oxararfoss and Thingvellir have been designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Next up is the geothermally active valley of Haukadalur where you will see the famous Geysir and many hot springs. You will also see Strokkur geyser which spouts every five minutes or so and projects steaming water to a height of about 60 to 100 feet.
The holiday takes place in Reykjavik, Iceland, and Iceland’s south coast. This Icelandic journey begins in Reykjavik, a small city with a big heart.
With a population of 120,000, Reykjavík is not a whirlwind metropolis. Few skyscrapers grace the skyline, traffic jams are rare, and faces are familiar. A steady beat of energy and events keeps the city alive and pulsing with excitement. Downtown Reykjavík, which is also known by its postal code as 101, is the nucleus of Iceland’s rich culture and arts scene. By day, café-culture rules supreme.
A steady hum of conversation keeps the city’s several cafés lively. With free Wi-Fi and refills on drip coffee being fairly common, Reykjavík’s café-goers like to linger until they are sufficiently buzzed on the strong dark elixir. As day turns into night, people start filing into many of the cities excellent restaurants.
The capital is world-renowned for its culture, history, and natural beauty on all fronts. Various museums preserve the culture and history of both the city and the country at large. Designated as a UNESCO's city of literature, Reykjavík is also the core of Iceland’s literary heritage where you will discover a treasure of literary works and a wealth of talented poets and authors. Local music is one of the mainstays in Reykjavík’s cultural life.
Reykjavík’s musical acts represent a broad spectrum of musical genres. Catching live music is, in fact, an excellent way to kick-off an evening on the town. Reykjavík is known for its vibrant nightlife that starts late and carries on long into the early morning hours. Luckily, everything in Reykjavík is close by and the city is perhaps best explored by foot or bike. Reykjavík might be tiny in size but it is never boring. It is exciting, vibrant, beautiful, and people who visit always vow to return.
The south coast of Iceland holds some of the most beautiful natural attractions in Iceland. The area boasts a unique mix of volcanoes and glaciers, geysers, hot springs, and waterfalls, along with multiple historic sites like the UNESCO site of Thingvellir.
During the retreat, you will be served with daily delicious breakfasts. You will also get one lunch served during your visit at Golden Circle route and four dinners served throughout the retreat.
Reykjavík is truly the gateway to Iceland and you can do many things from the city to the surrounding mountains, glaciers, volcanos, and hot springs. Enjoy day-excursions from Reykjavík such as horseback riding, glacier climbing, river rafting, caving, whale watching, and more. In the city downtown, you can also visit the city’s museums, galleries, theaters, cafés, and swimming pools, local restaurants downtown which served fresh ingredients like delicious lamb, seafood, or wild game.

You are recommended to take regular breaks from the water. The relaxation area, next to the changing room doors, offers comfortable seating and soothing music to relax to. It also has an amazing view looking out across the lagoon.
The sauna and steam baths are a big part of the Blue Lagoon experience. Carved into the lava rock, they reflect the stunning landscape around the Blue Lagoon.
The white face mask that you have probably seen in photos is the silica mud mask. The mask is delivered at the silica bar, located in the lagoon. You can apply as much as you want to your face and body, before leaving it on for at least five minutes. When you wash it off, you will feel a significant difference in the softness of your skin.
Please book your flight to arrive at Keflavík International Airport (KEF). Transfer from and to the airport is included. SUP YO will pick you up from the airport.
